...he stripped the sheets and put them in the wash first thing and told me tonight that I can help him make the bed.

I said no so now we are both on the sofa refusing to be the first to go to bed.

AIBU, should I help him?

YANBU.

Gross behaviour from your DH. Never mind the sheets, what about the mattress...?!

Iggly · 23/06/2019 22:04

He told you you could help??? He didn’t ask. He told??

Cheeserton · 23/06/2019 22:05

Clearly he should sort the bed out if he wet it because he got drunk. YANBU. Why on earth does he think he shouldn't do it?

DeRigueurMortis · 23/06/2019 22:05

That would be a big fat no from me and he would also have been out earlier for a new mattress before I slept in the bed again.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 23/06/2019 22:05

His mess, his job to clear it up.

Laiste · 23/06/2019 22:05

told you? or asked?

and yeah, what about the mattress??

What the hell?

HiddenBehindTheScenes · 23/06/2019 22:06

A lot of bed wetting on MN today. Must be something in the water Confused

TheQueef · 23/06/2019 22:06

Should you help? No!
Let him clean his own swamp and tell him to thank his lucky stars you will still sleep with him.

Guest8989 · 23/06/2019 22:06

LOL he should be fixing it, end of story

codemonkey · 23/06/2019 22:06

All sorts of wrong here.

RLOU30 · 23/06/2019 22:06

What about the mattress? That's honestly disgusting if it was because of the alcohol. Has he done this before ? And to sell you to help him make it ??! Is he having a laugh. YANBU

fedup21 · 23/06/2019 22:07

Did he actually say ‘you can help me change the bed?’

FelixFelicis6 · 23/06/2019 22:07

Sorry he put the sheets in the wash FIRST THING.... how many hours was his piss soaking into the mattress?! He’ll have to properly clean the mattress! I wouldn’t just remake the bed and sleep on it!

But yes it’s totally his job to do it all.

caringcarer · 23/06/2019 22:07

I would have sent him out to buy a new mattress.

buttertoasty · 23/06/2019 22:09

I don't understand this at all, it must be a joke surely??? Does he not know how to make a bed???

letsdolunch321 · 23/06/2019 22:09

Would he find it acceptable if you did that OP?

TrumpetTrouser · 23/06/2019 22:09

Yep, told me not asked. It would still have been a no but I wouldn’t be quite so mad.

We had a mattress protector thing on so mattress is completely fine thankfully!

No, you're not being unreasonable at all. Does this happen often? If your husband drinks so much that he loses control of his bodily functions then I would guess that he has a severe drink problem. Al Anon for you AA for him.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 23/06/2019 22:10

His mess, he cleans it up. Dirty sod! Who does he think he is?

Slicedpineapple · 23/06/2019 22:12

YANBU, I'd be making his life a misery until he goes upstairs and makes the bloody bed

StealthPolarBear · 23/06/2019 22:12

A waterproof one nor a normal one? We have normal ones but I didnt realise they'd contain urine!

OhioOhioOhio · 23/06/2019 22:12

Do you have a spare bed that you can go to?

DelphiniumBlue · 23/06/2019 22:15

Grim.
Do you actually want to share a bed wth him again?
