I AM NOT THE POO TROLL

I’ve got some kind of stomach bug, but it’s only coming out of one end. I’ve been to the toilet 3-4 times an hour for the past 27 hours and I’m now screaming and crying in pain from the piles and fissures that have sprouted.

I’m torn to shreds, bleeding and my poo feels like lava. DP went out and got me some Anusol earlier but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve been sitting on the shower floor for most of the day wasting god knows how much water (we don’t have a bathtub) because that seems to be the only thing that soothes the burning agony temporarily.

Any recommendations at all would be wonderful please. BlushBlushBlush

Bag of frozen peas wrapped in tea towel and wedged in. Imodium tablet.
Hope you feel better soon.

ShowOfHands · 22/06/2019 22:46

DH is 7 days in with the same thing.

I really don't know what to suggest.

Leah2005 · 22/06/2019 22:48

You poor thing. How about sudocreme? Or germolene - might sting like crazy but may numb it? Sorry I'm not very helpful - didn't want to read and leave. I had a chamomile cream when ds was a baby but can't remember what it's called. I'll Google it.

ShitAtScarbble · 22/06/2019 22:50

I’d get some Sudocrem on it until you can get to the GP. Sudocrem cures everything.
I do sympathise. I had something similar after a bout of Noro a couple of years ago. Horrible.

Flower777 · 22/06/2019 22:51

Definitely take some Imodium to stop it.

Try a germaloid suppository and you can also get medicated wipes. Keep up with suppositories and cream for a few days.

Maybe also take some pain relief?

Drink water.

Good luck OP. Take care.

Seeleyboo · 22/06/2019 22:51

Got to out of hours and get prescription pile cream. I've got horrendous piles after DC 5. Bless you. I know the pain.

Proseccoinamug · 22/06/2019 22:51

You can get rectogesic cream but it’s prescription only I think. Ring out of hours and get some prescribed.

notapizzaeater · 22/06/2019 22:52

No advice but watching with interest as DH got some new drugs that are making him have the same symptoms and is complaining of a poorly bum .

LakieLady · 22/06/2019 22:52

When I had food poisoning and my arse was on fire, I necked some codeine, partly because of the pain (I swear my stomach cramps were on a par with labour pains) but also because one of the side effects of codeine is constipation.

It worked well, stopped the shits, my arse recovered quickly and for some reason my GP found this notion of taking a medication because of the side-effects was hilarious.

But yes, Imodium.

Flower777 · 22/06/2019 22:52

I know with a bug you are not supposed to block it up but I would, just for 24 hours while you heal a bit.

Shelby1981 · 22/06/2019 22:54

Yellow metanium cream? Works wonders on sore baby/toddler bums so worth a go??!

CaptainCabinets · 22/06/2019 22:55

I’m a nurse which makes it even worse as I’m the biggest baby when it comes to my own pain! Blush

I’ve maxed out on paracetamol for today, I’m iffy about ibuprofen as I’m asthmatic (and currently bleeding). I didn’t know there was a prescription pile cream! Does it numb the area?

I can deal with the constant pooing but not with the burning. I thought about taking an Imodium but if I’ve got a bug I don’t want to trap it in there?!

ShitAtScarbble · 22/06/2019 22:58

They do say to let it work itself out and not take Immodium - this presumably said by someone in no imminent danger of sharting themselves 😂
Get your cake decorating palette knife and smear that Sudocrem on it! 😂

TheDarkPassenger · 22/06/2019 22:59

Can you wedge a hot water bottle between your arse cheeks?

Weirdest thing I’ve ever said sober

itwaseverthus · 22/06/2019 22:59

Do you have a basin you could fill with ice cold water, and sit on it? I know when I burnt my foot with boiling water, it was the only thing that took the heat out. Keep hydrated too as you will be losing a lot of fluids with all that liquid poo .

msannabella · 22/06/2019 23:01

Witch hazel from the fridge on a paper towel wedged in there worked great for cooling the whole area down when I had piles when pregnant.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 22/06/2019 23:01

Nappy rash cream as a barrier cream or sudocrem. Apply an ice cube to the affected area.
As you are a nurse you won’t be too squeamish. Plenty of anusol for lubrication then gently ease any swollen piles back inside so the aren’t chafing. It makes a difference to the pain.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 22/06/2019 23:02

Don’t use loo paper either use baby wipes or wash. Loo paper will feel like you are sandpapering your piles.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 22/06/2019 23:03

Doublebase cream is your friend.

Wipe with sudocrem or whatever cream you have on the paper.

When I had a 12 day bug (exacerbated on day 5 by taking Imodium which seemed to make things even worse the day after it wore off 🙈) I ended up giving up on wiping tbh, I used to sit with my arse over the bath and rinse with warm water from the shower.

I hope to never return to those dark days again (despite the 1.5 stone weight loss) 😑

Walkamileinmyshoesbeforeujudge · 22/06/2019 23:03

Baby wipes in the freezer!

Lilsquish · 22/06/2019 23:03

yellow metanium nappy cream?

i hope you feel better soon x

Billballbaggins · 22/06/2019 23:05

Yellow metanium? Works wonders on nappy rash so in theory could work if you alternate it with anusol or germaloids? Hope you’re better soon Flowers

ewemum · 22/06/2019 23:05

Take the Imodium and plaster sudocrem on.

TheSpottedZebra · 22/06/2019 23:05

Y y to witch hazel. On a sanitary towel, in the fridge or freezer. Or on kitchen roll, in the fridge, if you need to wedge it in a bit

Maybe aloe vera gel for soothing. Put that in fridge too.

ewemum · 22/06/2019 23:06

Hope you feel better soon x
