I’m slightly hungover and a bit delicate so more sensitive than usual...

I’m just chilling out listening to a playlist, Travelin’ Soldier by Dixie Chicks came on and I am BAWLING.

What songs make you cry?

Hurt by johnny cash. Heart breaking tune

alfagirl73 · 02/06/2019 13:20

You Will Be Found - from the musical Dear Evan Hansen.... most recently seen performed by Hugh Jackman on his tour - absolutely stunning!

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 02/06/2019 13:22

Hurt by Johnny Cash for me too, especially with the video.

LouiseMiltonSpatula · 02/06/2019 13:34

This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush. Have a lump in my throat every time I hear it. Also One Last Time by Ariana Grande because every time I hear it I remember her singing it at the concert after the Manchester attack and I just think about all those people who would give anything to have their family home one last time, and it feels raw every time.

PixieDust26 · 02/06/2019 13:36

See you again - Wiz Khalifa. 2015 wasn't a good a year.

Adas18 · 02/06/2019 13:36

Wires by Athlete

middleagedandproud · 02/06/2019 13:36

'The Living Years'- Mike and the Mechanics
Also 'This Woman's Work'- Kate Bush

StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/06/2019 13:39

‘Tower Block’ by Julia Fordham. Cried the very first time I heard it.

‘The Fall’ by Taylor Dayne.

Whilst it doesn’t make me cry, I get the shivers listening to ‘Sweeter for Me’ by Joan Baez.

minionsrule · 02/06/2019 13:41

Runaway Train by Soul Asylum...... even more so after I saw the video

cccameron · 02/06/2019 13:44

Time to say goodbye

Unbreak my heart - Toni braxton

DaveCoachesgavemetheclap · 02/06/2019 13:48

Vincent by Don McLean

CaptainCallisto · 02/06/2019 13:49

Travelling Soldier also gets me every time.

Sand and Water by Beth Neilson Chapman breaks my heart too, as does Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 02/06/2019 13:49

My heart will go on Blush

And all the songs out when
My dad died , there wAs one about growing up that slayed me

CarolDanvers · 02/06/2019 13:51

Anchorage - Michelle Shocked.

Basically a song about two friends, one does the marriage, settling down thing, the other doesn't and even though it's very American I really relate to it and the themes and it reminds me of friends I have grown away from. It's a beautiful song.

Strugglingtodomybest · 02/06/2019 13:51

Cat's in the cradle, sung by whoever, they all get me.

CaptainCabinets · 02/06/2019 13:52

Top of the World (also by the Dixie Chicks!) makes me cry more than any other song in the world. Maybe I just shouldn’t listen to the Dixie Chicks anymore. Blush

Rule the World by Take That.

Baby Mine....from Dumbo Blush

Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven
Do they know it's Christmas - Live Aid
Fix you - Cold Play
Anchorage - Michelle Shocked
Underneath the Stars - Kate Rusby

Strugglingtodomybest · 02/06/2019 13:53

Oh yes Captain, Eric Clapton singing tears in heaven. That one too.

OnlyYellowRoses · 02/06/2019 13:53

We'll meet again by Vera Lynn. My gran used to sing it to me all the time as a child and I had it play everyone out at her funeral. It still makes bawl every time

QueenofCBA · 02/06/2019 13:53

Artificial flowers by The Beautiful South. I had my whole family worried by bursting into tears on the motorway. They all know to skip that one quickly now!

Any version of “he ain’t heavy, he’s my brother”. Just writing it makes me well up.

Gth1234 · 02/06/2019 13:53

The one most likely would be "Abide With Me", I think.

TulipsTulipsTulips · 02/06/2019 13:54

Tears from heaven

Gorgeous and heartbreaking song

sobercuriouskind · 02/06/2019 13:54

CarolDanvers didn't think anyone else would say Anchorage! I love it, such a beautiful song - very melancholy and full of nostalgia.

Milkand2sugarsplease · 02/06/2019 13:54

Taylor swift - never grow up.
I just think about my little boy and how quickly he's growing up.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 02/06/2019 13:57

Well although you'd never hear it now, two little boys by Rolf Harris always brought a year to my eye.
