have a look on your polling card if you are in an area where you need to show ID to vote.

If you don't vote, then I don't want to hear you complaining about anything afterwards!

Arthur Scargill was elected president for life of the NUM by 51% of the 1% who bothered to vote . . .

onalongsabbatical · 23/05/2019 07:15

I'm in bed ill but I will drag myself out to vote. So no excuses. Unless you've been whipped into hospital or summat, please do it

greenelephantscarf · 23/05/2019 07:15

it's a pleasant day for a walk.
polling stations are close to your home.

Done it! We were the first ones in!

greenelephantscarf · 23/05/2019 07:20

the only time I missed voting was a couple of years ago when I didn't get the postal vote papers back in time Sad

First one in at my local polling station too! I know it's silly but I got a bit of a buzz out of that :)

Lexilooo · 23/05/2019 08:07

Remember that you don't need to have your polling card to vote.

Also if your postal vote papers arrived late you or someone on your behalf can hand deliver them to a polling station within your council area.

georgedawes · 23/05/2019 08:09

Just to say you don't need your polling card

WrongKindOfFace · 23/05/2019 08:09

I’ve been. I was the only one!

AbsoluteGonk · 23/05/2019 08:11

Unless you're planning on voting for UKIP or newUKIP aka the Brexit Party. In which case feel free to exercise your democratic right not to vote.

arethereanyleftatall · 23/05/2019 08:12

Who should you vote for if you don't like any of the options?

georgedawes · 23/05/2019 08:15

If you're a remain voter, lib dem/green/change UK. Voting lib dem personally.

AmIAWeed · 23/05/2019 08:16

@AbsoluteGonk - Of course, because everyone is allowed a vote unless you disagree with them Hmm
This is exactly the attitude I dislike currently with politics.

I don't care if someone wants to vote for a bloody umpa lumpa - their vote, their opinion and no-one should be judged or made to feel bad about what they believe personally in.

TrixieFranklin · 23/05/2019 08:18

@AbsoluteGonk GrinWine

greenelephantscarf · 23/05/2019 08:18

I won't tell anyone who to vote for.

just saying: read the manifesto (or a summary of it) and stay away from single issue parties are they tend to be one day wonders without much behind them.

OP posts:
WrongKindOfFace · 23/05/2019 08:19

Does the Brexit party have a manifesto yet?

Tweedledumanddumber · 23/05/2019 08:23

I got far more flyers and literature for this election than i have ever got before, one quite extreme party that I'd never heard of and hope do not get more than a handful if votes from their friends or family I am going to vote because minority or extreme parties have more chance when theres a low turn out of voters.

arethereanyleftatall · 23/05/2019 08:23

Thanks George! What about if you've always voted Lib Dem in the past but also want to leave?

happymummy12345 · 23/05/2019 08:34

You are. I've never ever voted for anything to do with politics and never will. I couldn't care less about it and I'm not interested at all. And I've got better things to do.

WillardJStevens · 23/05/2019 08:43

happymummy you couldn’t care less about whether the food you eat is safe, or that you have rights at work so your employee can’t sack you for no reason, or that the stuff you buy is good quality? Hmm Hmm okay then...

BentBaastard · 23/05/2019 08:46

What’s the vote about today?
