Hello everyone, here's thread 2.

I'd be very grateful if someone could do a clicky link to the last one. Still can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Also no one’s condemning anyone. Bit of eye rolling maybe.

lookingelsewhere · 01/05/2019 15:20

Just been reading the Princess Diana was the first Royal to give birth in a hospital.

Humpy84 · 01/05/2019 15:21

Hmmmm I wonder what pram she’ll get.

My bet is a full silvercross, like the proper me but traditional ones, a Kensington silvercross, not a sleepover like Kate’s...

Meghan’s might have a custom macrame hood or engraved astrological chart of baby’s birth.

HillRunner · 01/05/2019 15:24

Princess Anne gave birth in hospital, looking.

RubberTreePlant · 01/05/2019 15:24

Yes, exactly.

Adoring eye rolling, obviously. It's such fun having a C list thespian in our RF Smile

lookingelsewhere · 01/05/2019 15:25

HillRunner Ah, thank you! That'll teach me to use PureWow site as a reference Blush

Humpy84 · 01/05/2019 15:26

@byeclaire your theories are possible, but wouldn’t you be terrified that the big silicon fake bump falls off during a walkabout or bounces down the steps of a building during an engagement. This silicon bump bouncing away and Meghan, Harry and the press looking at each other with bewilderment and twitter going wild #runawaybump

Humpy84 · 01/05/2019 15:29

@rubbertreeplant late reply but thats certainly tough and glad you have found an escape in this thread like me too xx 💐

I did eye roll - and I added in a smirk - btw when I read this quote by Oprah about Meghan’s birth plans/announcement:

“Oh my God! I'm so proud of her decisions. To be able to stand up and say this is what I really want for my baby and my family and now I'm going to do it a different way when it's been done that way for a thousand years? I'm just so proud of her."

Yes, thousands of years.

RubberTreePlant · 01/05/2019 15:32

Tough? Oh dear what have I been blabbing about now? BlushGrin

RubberTreePlant · 01/05/2019 15:32

Oh someone else, phew Smile

ByeClaire · 01/05/2019 15:33

Humpy huh? I didn’t say that was my theory.

lookingelsewhere · 01/05/2019 15:38

Humpy84 Thanks for that Smile Glad you are also finding distraction and hopefully some fun in these threads too.

lyralalala · 01/05/2019 15:40

I do find it quite funny when people, like Oprah, are saying that Meghan is going against all traditions and carving her own path when, if she has a home birth and then has a photographer to do photos 3/4 days later she'll actualy be completely reverting to tradition and bypassing the newish hospital habit.

Haworthia · 01/05/2019 15:40

I think a badly worded and (possibly deliberately) misinterpreted by the media statement had caused them all this speculation when they will end up doing the same as everyone else and having a quick chat while letting the photographer snap the baby.

Badly worded AND wilfully misinterpreted for sure. As far as I was concerned, H&M merely said “we aren’t telling you where the birth is taking place because we don’t want press and nutters staking the place out for weeks”. Haters decided they were saying “and we’ll announce the birth days after the event if we feel like it, ner ner ner ner ner”.

ByeClaire · 01/05/2019 15:43

Quite lyra, that was my point.

lyralalala · 01/05/2019 15:46

Quite lyra, that was my point.

You can almost smell the likes of the daily fail itching to slate the decision (if that's it), but not being able too because of the Queen.

So they go down the 'snubbing Kate' angle.

They're probably currently gutted they didn't think of the 'Kate snubs the Queen' angle when Kate was pregnant.

BishopBrennansArse · 01/05/2019 15:47

Excellent quote from @JaneEyre07 on another thread

"The mere fact that she's spared us all the horror of Kay Burley outside the Lindo Wing is much to be celebrated, let's be honest."

Couldn't agree more

ByeClaire · 01/05/2019 15:49

Haworthia They didn’t “merely” say that though.

Personally I find it hard to believe they’ll give a statement that she’s in labour. That would only increase the interest and media camping outside. And what if things go wrong or labour is long? I wouldn’t blame them at all if they didn’t release such a statement.

profumoaffair · 01/05/2019 15:54

Someone on another site linked to this explanation of the Royal family unfriending on Instagram:

imgur.com/a/Bty2Aux

More hilarious attention seeking. I'm almost certain the whole palaver around the birth announcement is part of a plan on MM's part to 'break the internet' Kardashian-style and cement her global profile by scoring a record number of likes on Instagram - possibly reinforced with a Vogue cover. She's such a narcissist radical, social butterfly

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 01/05/2019 15:59

Yes, I must admit I find it surprising that they said they would announce when she is in labour - that wasn't in the statement I read.

Honestly, why would we need to know that? If I were in labour with my first baby I don't think announcing it to the world would be high on my list of priorities.

I think it was a mistake stating that intention - if indeed they did.

The Oprah comment was ridiculous, and so sycophantic.

FannyWork · 01/05/2019 15:59

If she needed to use a surrogate why wouldn’t she say so? It’s not like people don’t understand the medical issues surrounding it and she certainly wouldn’t be the first, even Kim Kardashian’s done it.

Laodamia · 01/05/2019 16:04

If she'd used a surrogate people would then want to know if one of her eggs was used or if it was a donor egg. That would never die down. And I suppose Harry knows what it's like to have to put up with people whispering about your true parentage.

I’m finding this whole intense US interest in a royal a bit discombobulating. If you mention her name on Twitter in anything less than glowing terms you get mobbed by tweenage US girls who give you a telling off and demand you donate to #sussexbaby shower as penance.

I’m like, we’re British, we don’t gush. As long as we don’t overtly insult you then you’re doing fine, but if you’re expecting us to fawn you’ve got another thing coming. Brenda’s been doing it over 90 years and even she doesn’t get that type of nonsense.
