To think the UK media silence on the Prince William rumours is odd

Just that really. No idea if there's anything more than rumour and speculation, but it's all over social media that Prince William allegedly had an affair with one of Kate's friends, but there is a total media silence on it.
Pretty bizarre considering that Meghan Markle barely has to breathe and the media are covering it.

Don’t they have security with them at all times though? “Bob, can you just head to Rose Cottage for an hour or two whilst I check my courgettes”

Iamnotagoddess · 26/04/2019 07:13

Their security know everything - that’s why they have loyal people around them.

KittyLane1 · 26/04/2019 07:14

As an aside, does anyone else think that Jecca Craig looks like a young Camilla in the face, obviously different colouring and body type.

Quartz2208 · 26/04/2019 07:22

I’m getting the impression from this that it is pretty common knowledge
The newspapers have definitely started leaning away from Meghan and Kate having issues to Harry and William (and you wonder how much yesterday was about that for both of them)
William however nice you think he is always looks quite weak it’s not difficult to see how he might do it (or think it’s his right to and get away with it he hardly has positive role models)

Petalflowers · 26/04/2019 07:23

Mecca reminds me of Tara P-T.

Christmastree43 · 26/04/2019 07:24

It’s fab gossip and though I know it’s wrong I very much enjoy the light hearted distraction it provides. Just been reading up on Squidgygate, how absurd, thank you! Can anyone recommend a good juicy book covering the whole period?

longwayoff · 26/04/2019 07:28

Diana was shagging one of her security team, she won't have been t he first or last. For any of us who don't know any royals we have no idea what they're doing, with whom, when, where and why. They do as they please.

fikel · 26/04/2019 07:29

How can anyone of us claim to know the inner working of their relationship makes me laugh how people seem to think they know and understand William

Iamnotagoddess · 26/04/2019 07:30

There is A LOT of skirting around this on GMB right now.

thelastgoldeneagle · 26/04/2019 07:30

At one stage the Queen referred to it as her annus horribilis.

That was the year that Windsor Castle went on fire on and two of her dc got divorced...

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 26/04/2019 07:42

@OnlineAlienator- the Hanbury sisters are supposed to be much prettier in the flesh. They are quite celebrated beauties.

It does seem to be leaning towards true. Poor Kate! (Unless she's actually been doing some slinking about of her own with Harry. I think he has a crush on her but wouldn't dare).

Humpy84 · 26/04/2019 07:46

Ok, ashamed to admit this but I’m utterly fascinated. Not only fascinated by the rumours but the whole aristocratic gossip circles. Being from Australia I am just enthralled to think that you have Marquises and Dukes all shagging and gossiping about it over cocktails in the parlour. The whole turnip Toff thing and queen bee of the posh bitches - you couldn’t make it up.

If anyone happens to have aristocratic gossip and contacts please personal message me. I’m completely captivated.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 26/04/2019 07:52

It’s worse than Jeremy Kyle.

I’m wierdly over invested in Rose looking down on Kate for not being Aristocratic enough, whilst being married to someone 23 years older than her and having an affair with her pregnant Best mate’s DH. Not. Classy.

LizzieSiddal · 26/04/2019 07:55

I very much doubt there is an injunction, as MNHQ would have taken this great down very quickly.

Also to me Kate and Will always look so in love when they are together. If he has been having an affair, surely we’d get a hint of her disapproval, in her body language.

SummerPlace · 26/04/2019 07:56

@longwayoff it's not all about looks as Camilla v Diana - and Wallis Simpson - shows

I remember at the time, Diana referred to Camilla as "the Rottweiler" - I'm quite fond of Rotties, myself - and seemed bemused that anyone would prefer Camilla to herself, as Diana was someone who was frequently on the lists of the world's most beautiful women. Still, no one ever said Diana was a deep thinker.

BertrandRussell · 26/04/2019 07:58

I think Meghan and Harry should call the baby Rose. That would set the cat amongst the pigeons! Grin

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 26/04/2019 07:59

I can't imagine that William is/was interested in Rose. Kate is infinitely better-looking and elegant.

With regard to 'boring' names for Kings and Queens, what would the PP prefer they were called? King Josh, King Alfie, King Sam or Queen Ellie-Mae, Queen Lily or Queen Poppy?

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 26/04/2019 08:00

Fabulous idea Bert!

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 26/04/2019 08:02

Lots of people who cheat don't alter their behaviour towards their spouses. That's without the media swooping on their every sneeze, too.

@Al1ce yeah, I find that odd. Especially if they were supposed to be friends before! Rose Hanbury was also meant to be a bit racy before she married. So her judging of scandal free Kate is weird!

alldressedupinblue · 26/04/2019 08:07

Re Rose's husband:

I think for many years the likes of Nigel Dempster pegged him as gay, then lo and behold he suddenly had a new young wife who was pregnant with twins at their wedding.

Rhubarbisevil · 26/04/2019 08:08

I think this happened 3 years ago and has only just come to light. The Easter that PW went abroad for a wedding and missed Easter so the Middletons descended on Sandringham en masse. Then.

Best post I've ever read on Mumsnet:

I think wills doesn’t look that great in photos but I bet in real life he has appeal. He’s arrogant, can fly a helicopter, has a deep voice, towers over most of us probably and if things went sour and he burnt you and broke your heart, you’d probably come out of it with a Burmese ruby that you could auction at Sotheby’s and buy a house with. Ok I’ve just set feminism back 500 years. All I’m saying is that for a fling he’s ok. Except for the married part. Look, if you were going to shag a married man then wills is a better story to confess than Gary from IT. I’m just saying that to say he’s so off putting is a lie. All of us would go there, I feel he wasn’t married, all of us.

Humpy84 · 26/04/2019 08:14

@rhubarbisevil think you’re right. There was random daily mail article in 2016 about Rose and Kate in a battle to be queen bee of the turnip Toffs.
