To think the UK media silence on the Prince William rumours is odd

Just that really. No idea if there's anything more than rumour and speculation, but it's all over social media that Prince William allegedly had an affair with one of Kate's friends, but there is a total media silence on it.
Pretty bizarre considering that Meghan Markle barely has to breathe and the media are covering it.

I genuinely don't care who they screw or don't screw. I'd just like the whole bloody lot gone. Diminished. Land redistributed. We went wrong around the Restoration in my opinion; every thread about the royals kind of confirms this.

Who the bloody hell cares. Every bit of media attention props them up. I'm not alone. Republicanism is kind of a thing now (for the last few centuries).

Just one of their daily hair do budgets would finance my classroom. And don't give me guff about how they bring in tourism. I give you Versailles.

They're people: that is all. And do ordinary people really need that much privilige, money and adoration? I regularly drive through, visit, and live just outside a part of the swathes of Norfolk they own. Very lovely they are too. The deprived rural areas outside the estates full of plebs, not so much.

ALW 🤢

thetwinkletoescollective · 25/04/2019 20:28

Just to add what I know (which is nothing about this particularly) other than the royal events I have been full of lecherous men and that is part of the culture of entitlement which is so repulsive.

Also there is a lot of sleeping with the nanny that goes on - in fact so much bed hopping....

William, himself, always comes across as kind but I can't forget the culture and background that he is in - which does not make this rumour so unbelievable.

Morticiaismymumgoal · 25/04/2019 20:36

What would the media say though? 'People on Twitter are suggesting...' there's no source, no evidence, no kiss and teller. If there were I'm sure there would be injunctions and the like but is there actually a person saying they saw/ know this or just rumours started by someone who heard from someone who heard from someone?

DistanceCall · 25/04/2019 20:48

Considering what happened to his mother, no, I don't think it's odd that the media are behaving halfway decently.

It's no one's business except for those involved.

Teaa · 25/04/2019 20:51

Because there is an injunction in place.

It’s pretty well known in certain circles he’s had a couple of affairs... but I don’t know for definite first hand.

Those saying he’s besotted with her and wouldn’t do that, how do you know?! The nicest men I’ve known have had affairs. And appeared absolutely in love with their wives.

Loopytiles · 25/04/2019 20:52

It is public interest, because taxpayers fund the royal family and he is in line for the throne.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/04/2019 20:57

Maybe I'm being dense, but can anyone tell me what the point of these injunctions is, in the age of the internet?

It seems to me just to draw attention to whatever-it-is, and it's not as if they can keep the story out of the public sphere at the end of it

DistanceCall · 25/04/2019 20:58

It is public interest, because taxpayers fund the royal family and he is in line for the throne.

Taxpayers also fund public servants' salaries. How are their personal lives relevant to anything except, well, their private lives?

Hushnownobodycares · 25/04/2019 20:58

It's no one's business except for those involved.

It absolutely is when we're funding him. Not to mention him being in line to be head of the CofE with all the moral implications that carries.

puppy23 · 25/04/2019 21:01

Bit off topic but it bugs me how Louis is both one of George's middle names and the name of child no3 - why?

DistanceCall · 25/04/2019 21:02

Again, the public funds many people. What you fund is the work he does (whether you think that work is worthwhile or not is another matter). As long as his personal life doesn't intrude on his public work, it's not relevant.

And his being the head of the CofE is a matter for the CofE.

Nothininmenoggin · 25/04/2019 21:03

Given the nightmare his mother went through I very much doubt this to have any truth to it whatsoever. He seems a loyal type and seems besotted with Kate.

Quartz2208 · 25/04/2019 21:08

But surely the nightmare his mother went through is exactly why there is an issue between the brothers. And it is clearly between them. As much as the dailymail like to wind up the megan hate

The press have never published anything concrete about Prince Philip they cant unless there is proof which there isnt.

And I can believe it because lets face it she isnt going anywhere and he knows it. So he can act like all the other prince of wales before him

Supersimpkin · 25/04/2019 21:09

Both his parents were champion shaggers and people either go the same way or react against it. W didn't cheat on Kate when they were going out, so I don't reckon he's up for affairs.

I also reckon she's terrifying and very calmly in control.

BeardedMum · 25/04/2019 21:10

I don’t believe the rumours. She looks like the cat who got the cream and I think she is his rock.

The80sweregreat · 25/04/2019 21:11

If any of it is true, I would feel sorry for the DoC. She seems a decent sort and very loyal and has a nice family.

I'm no royalist myself but IF anything went on (or will go on or whatever ) then I hope this finishes off the royals for good.
The backlash would be huge I think.

The Prince would be an idiot to do this but nothing surprises me anymore about anything.

Iamnotagoddess · 25/04/2019 21:11

There was a sweet photo of the D&DOC holding hands getting into a helicopter (I don’t think they realised they were being photographed.

Whatever issues they may or may not have I hope they resolve them.

bethy15 · 25/04/2019 21:15

I'd just like the whole bloody lot gone. Diminished. Land redistributed. We went wrong around the Restoration in my opinion; every thread about the royals kind of confirms this.

Yeah, me too.

The trouble is the public are brainwashed into submission and believing they 'know' and 'love' these people.

I find it all quite sickening really. They look down their noses at those who stand in line to get a peek of them and they are entitled to be held up to be better then the rest of us why? Because of tradition and 'birthright'. I really wish we would stop the kowtowing and teach the next generations to not think anything of these people.

Hushnownobodycares · 25/04/2019 21:16

the public funds many people

But not their many palaces (and associated renovations), servants, 24/7 security and endless private travel.

Petalflowers · 25/04/2019 21:21

Teaa - do you really think he’s had affairs? Surely he wouldn’t’t be so stupid and/or someone would have said something/had a photo etc. It’s so easy to take photos with phones nowadays, unlike in the olden days, and even then there were tell-tale pictures of Fergie etc.

DistanceCall · 25/04/2019 21:25

But not their many palaces (and associated renovations), servants, 24/7 security and endless private travel.

Again, that's what their work entails. You may think that funding that is not worthwhile, and it's a fair view. You are entitled to vote for the removal of the monarchy or the redistribution of wealth or whatever. But you can't say that you are entitled to know about someone's private life because they are privileged.

happyhillock · 25/04/2019 21:30

@Mintandthyme. I totally agree when Diana gave her panorama interview she didn't giving a toss about William and Harry, Diana was never out the paper's with her latest boyfriend, must have been a bit embarassing for her boy's did she care? Doubt it

Triglesoffy · 25/04/2019 21:33

I think all this is in the past when DoC was pregnant and puking up with HGC 24/7. Now that she’s had her family, William is contrite and has promised her the world. Written out in diamonds and holidays. Is this why she’s upgraded from LK Bennet to Gucci?

Kate may have forgiven him but Harry surely hasn’t.

Iamnotagoddess · 25/04/2019 21:33

If they weren’t posh social care would have possibly been involved or at least a family worker.

Its shocking what people with money get away with in regards to their kids - they think they are above safeguarding their kids and don’t realise the emotional abuse they are causing.
