You know, the kind of behaviour only you know about which is unusual, and would make people go Hmm but you love doing?

For example, I binge on three different Netflix programmes at any one time in what I call a "3-2-1" sequence, which goes like this:

  • I will watch a long series (currently Peep Show) 3 episodes at a time
  • then I will watch 2 episodes of a shorter series (Santa Clarita Diet at the mo)
  • I'll then watch one episode of a weekly-type series after that (Jane the Virgin season 5 at the moment)
  • Then it starts with the 3 episodes again, and so on and so forth

I can't deviate from the 3-2-1 sequence, and if for example I've finished the Santa Clarita Diet episodes but the next episode of Jane the Virgin isn't on until 2 day's time, I'll wait to watch anything more until then. I can't just skip it and watch the next 3 Peep Shows, or the world will probably end or something

I don't know why I do this or when it started, but it works for me ConfusedGrin

Please make me feel normal and tell me your secret weird behaviour

I think they take your eyeball out first.

AuntieCorruption · 26/04/2019 20:32

Oi wouldn't be happy with that tbh!

ProjectGainsborough · 26/04/2019 20:37

Do they put it back in again afterwards? Seems like an awful lot of bother

findingmyfeet12 · 26/04/2019 20:39

No idea. Maybe they give it a wipe and pop it back in like a stopper until next time?

ASauvignonADay · 26/04/2019 20:47

I can't run up the stairs without counting in my head - no matter how hard I try - not 1,2,3,4 though - always 2,4,6,8... don't know why - can't remember a time when I didn't!
I do this! I always count. I also rarely walk up, I usually run. This becomes awkward at work , it feels unnatural to walk up!

ASauvignonADay · 26/04/2019 20:52

I often play out scenarios in my head where I'm injured. I'd hate to be injured, so I'd don't know why, but I imagine what I'd do and what would happen (eg. Nasty horse fall/car crash)

Iwantacookie · 26/04/2019 21:11

I do the daydream thing too.
I practise my Oscar acceptance speech in the shower.
When going to sleep I have to put my fanny lips between my pointy and middle finger and move them back and forth. It's not a sexual thing and I have no idea why I do it Blush

Onescaredmuma · 26/04/2019 21:11

I plan for a zombie apocalypse but that's normal right Hmm

Aimily · 26/04/2019 21:14

@onescaredmuma my brother does that. He had a full escape plan worked out where we would all go and live at my grandads pub 😂 he's now living in New York and said that he would hide in the rockafella building 🤔

PurpleFlower1983 · 26/04/2019 21:19

I pretend I’m in a musical and perform a number when I’m cleaning the kitchen.

dannydyerismydad · 26/04/2019 21:29

I eat proper butter. By the spoonful Blush

Lovelylugs · 26/04/2019 23:43

I also used to imagine being interviewed by police when I spotted anything suspicious. Unfortunately I have been interviewed as a witness four times now for 3 murders and a manslaughter.
I don't do that anymore.

nakedscientist · 27/04/2019 00:01

I plan to be the zombie apocalypse .......

Hippychick78 · 27/04/2019 00:15

I love to speak in accents especially when I'm talking to myself. Deep Yorkshire voice is current favourite (I'm Belfast girl)

I love to narrate what I'm doing/converse in song if I'm feeling giddy. "CHEESE CHEESE, I LOVE CHEESE, MY FAVOURITE THING TO EAT IS CHEESE". Cheese based songs usually accompany eating cheese 🧀 I only do this with my husband 😂 he's used to me by now and luckily finds it endearing.

I count everything while performing actions ie taking steps/cutting veg etc. I also count inwardly on an almost constant basis. Whether I'm working, watching TV, in a conversation, there's numbers in my head but they don't start at 1. It's very unconscious but suddenly I'm aware I'm at 298 🤷‍♂️. I'm diagnosed with OCD so suspect this to be the cause. The numbers really are all consuming 😔

Hippychick78 · 27/04/2019 00:17

I'm also very obsessive with music particularly. I listen to the same album/song for weeks/months, it's very comforting. I've been listening to the rocky horror soundtrack for 4 weeks now 🙄

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 27/04/2019 00:20

smudggle I do that too, flapping my hands. DH once walked in on me and asked what I was doing, and I said I was too hot and fanning myself Blush

I also narrate stories about imaginary characters.

Jogrunwalksleep · 27/04/2019 02:15

I do that too hippy. Then one day I just stop

Herland · 27/04/2019 09:27

I tickle my lower bag above my bum crack to make myself pee. Always thought that only I did it but I recently took my DD to the loo and she did it too.

Every time I watch TV I feel like I'm on a weird Truman show/ Goggle Box mash up.

I apologise to thin air when I think or do something wrong.

ethelfleda · 27/04/2019 10:30

I love this thread.
You lot are adorable. I had no idea there were so many wonderful weirdos out there! Next time I’m battling through a crowd l will imagine that some of the people there are giving other people’s coats points or narrating a crime watch reconstruction. Genius.

I lick the flavour off pringles before I eat them.
I daydream a lot too - my latest one is that I am an extra on a film set but the female actress who is supposed to play the lead pulls out at the ast minute... they spot yours truly and ask me to stand in and are amazed by my awesome acting skills.
I like watching really crappy teenage romance films on Netflix over and over again. I reckon I’ve watched the kissing booth about 10times in the last few weeks.

findingmyfeet12 · 27/04/2019 11:17

My sister's plan for the apocalypse was to drive to all the zoos and free the animals.

Great, so you're alone on an island which is now also inhabited by lions, tigers, gorillas and bears...

SecretWitch · 27/04/2019 16:20

I often pretend to be characters from television shows and act out scenes around my house. My current is Mrs.Patmore.

I do a fake YouTube videos whilst applying makeup.

I back talk television characters as if they can hear me and welcome my guidance.

RelaisBlu · 27/04/2019 16:27

I sing to my cat, or if I'm feeling especially joyful, do a dance for him

LouH1981 · 27/04/2019 17:48

Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with the marks that different clothing leaves on my skin. Sometimes I wear particular underwear or jewellery because I know by the end of the day it will have left an interesting pattern on me. As soon as I can and I’m on my own I always check to see the pattern. The more intricate the better....sometimes I even google it just to look at the images (not underwear obvs!). No idea why!

Bozlem80 · 27/04/2019 17:49

I sing along to music pretending I’m really good & a superstar, neighbours must think someone is crying out in agony!

LouH1981 · 27/04/2019 17:52

Plus I am also on/off married to James Franco! We don’t talk about his girlfriend 😉
