... not only that, he’s threatening treason charges on those who investigated him.

Sarah Sanders ... Shock

The Hill @thehill
Sarah Sanders on Rep. Nadler: "It's truly outrageous and absurd what the chairman is doing and he should be ashamed that he's behaving this way."

And incoherent, Northwest. Incoherency and wildly off-base data - along with stories even they know to be untrue - don’t seem to bother his cult, though. They just clap. I was looking at the faces of the women standing behind Trump at his rally today (there were even some very bored kids there - who brings kids to that and puts them right behind Trump?) and I was wondering what was going on in their minds. Are they that different to me? Are they filled with patriotism, nationalism, or fear for their children’s future? Or simply an unfounded fear of others fuelled by conservative propaganda?

(Or, they were paid.)

I always look to see the composition of those 'selected' to stand just behind him (and for the person who looks a little stricken once the realise what they have been paid to do).

From author of The Art of the Deal...

Given the Times report on Trump's staggering losses, I'd be fine if Random House simply took the book out of print. Or recategorized it as fiction.

At his rally tonight, Trump says the government is unable to violently attack immigrants, someone in the crowd shouted "Shoot them!"

The crowd & Trump erupt in laughter & cheers. Trump says, "Only in the panhandle can you get away with that statement."

Biggest applause line at tonight’s rally was Trump encouraging the crowd to shoot immigrants

Roussette Thank you for posting that speech from Sen. Raskin. Such an incredible summary all the ways and means Trump has destroyed all norms.

Let's denigrate JFK for womanising, should we?
Or Bill Clinton?

Or are they OK just because they are "democrats"

Are Americans and Brits so stupid, that they can't think for themselves, irrespective of any views that Russia might espouse. Oh wait - Brits do fall into that category, or else Jeremy Corbyn, and Tony Benn wouldn't be idolised by so many snowflake students.

58 days without a press conference and now the WH has revoked the majority of press passes of the Washington press corps. Shock

PerkingFaintly · 09/05/2019 15:22

Um, feel free to denigrate JFK or Bill Clinton for womanising, Gth1234.

Not sure what your post is supposed to mean?

PerkingFaintly · 09/05/2019 15:34

Yep, just read lionheart's Raw Story link on that.

Sanders has invented a rule (viz: no press credentials for any journalist who hasn't been in the White House building at least 90 out of the previous 180 days, ie 7 of every 10 workdays)" that excludes most of the White House press corp.

Then she's granting exemptions to the rule, to journalists of her choosing.

So it's a de facto ban on journalists the White House doesn't like, but disguised as something else.

Which presumably means Sanders and co still have a smidgeon of shame about doing this – or at least expect the American people to find it unacceptable...

Dunno either Perking.

Are you sure you posted your message on the right thread Gth1234?

Lweji · 09/05/2019 15:36

now the WH has revoked the majority of press passes of the Washington press corps.
The red flags keep pilling up. Afraid of questions, are we?

lionheart · 09/05/2019 15:42

I don't think we've talked about Trump's alleged adultery, the NDAs or even the existence (or otherwise) of the pee-pee tapes on this particular thread.

There may have been a passing reference to that time he bragged about sexual assault, though.

The damning Mueller Report is out - but Trump thinks he’s exonerated (Trump thread 93)
AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 09/05/2019 16:58

I think that Gth1234 is suggesting, in effect, that previous presidents (so long as they were not Republicans) having done something wrong means Trump doing something wrong is just fine. Like, because Lincoln kept slaves, it would be wrong to be angry if it were discovered that Trump does so. Something along those lines, anyhow. If a previous President did anything wrong, that mysteriously justifies anything Trump does now.

It isn't very logical, but I can see how someone might back themselves into that particular corner if they were desperate to justify Trump at all costs.

Funny how obvious comparison with Nixon doesn't seem to get raised by such people, ain't it.

Facebook 'auto-generated' extremist video
www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-48217827

Facebook has been accused of "auto-generating" extremist content, including a celebratory jihadist video and a business page for al-Qaeda. The material was uncovered by an anonymous whistleblower who filed an official complaint to US regulators.

Similar content for self-identified Nazis and white supremacist groups was also found online.
[...]
The study found that groups such as the Islamic State group and al-Qaeda were "openly" active on the social network.

In addition, it found that Facebook's own tools were automatically creating fresh content for the proscribed groups by producing "celebration" and "memories" videos when pages racked up enough views or "likes", or had been active for a certain number of months.

The local business page for al-Qaeda generated by Facebook's tools had 7,410 "likes" and gave the group "valuable data" it could use when recruiting people or seeking out supporters, the complaint said.
