... not only that, he’s threatening treason charges on those who investigated him.

And even weaker - I mean, I don’t think this is why Mueller is angry, if he even is.

Donald Trump Jr. liked

From Barr testimony for am: "We concluded that the evidence developed during the Special Counsel’s investigation is not sufficient to establish that the President committed an obstruction-of-justice offense.." THIS is why anti-@realDonaldTrump Mueller team is angry.

Lies upon lies about lies.

I imagine Barr wished he'd never heard of D.T. Trump.

www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-twitter-followers-fake-617873

'Anyone can amass an exorbitant number of Twitter followers. You don't even have to be famous. All you have to do is pay for them. The comedian Joe Mande currently has a healthy 1.01 million followers, but his bio contains a caveat: "twitter is trash, facebook's the devil, i bought a million followers for like $400 none of this shit matters antarctica is melting."

Mande even explained the stunt last November in The New Yorker. "The simplest way to tell who’s winning the Twitter game is by counting followers," he wrote. "The biggest celebrity accounts—Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga—seem to have millions of followers. But in 2012 I learned that only a portion of those are real humans; some are 'bots,' artificially created to boost an account’s popularity. Immediately, I knew that I had found my calling."'

Roussette · 01/05/2019 07:47

Trump has the highest number of bots imaginable, I wonder if his cult followers actually reads all this rubbish he puts on htere.

Surely if they did he wouldn't have to pay for them to come to his Rallies?

Well, she did show up at one of the rallies ...

BBC4 is running an excellent series on influential musicians & I got around to watching the one on Woody Guthrie last night. When he & family moved to apartment in Brooklyn he noticed that all the tenants were white, investigated this, and then wrote a song about it: . (To be fair Guthrie's own father was a heinous racist.)

I've been reading these threads for yonks & don't remember mention of another long-running series of Trumpish threads on another site. Apologies if the betting pool has already been linked, though. www.reddit.com/r/bestoflegaladvice/comments/bivayx/trump_administration_deathpool_xvi_now_with/

Many thanks, ushuaia, I'll take a look at that.

Ah yes, Fred Trump. Nice bloke... Lovely family tradition...

Dumdedumdedum · 01/05/2019 11:30

Hello, everyone, sorry, I'm not reading at the moment. I am just watching The Good Fight, Season 3, Episode 3 www.channel4.com/programmes/the-good-fight/on-demand/68909-003 and thought the Diane and the Resistance bits would chime with you here Grin Very close to the bone, if that's the right phrase in this context Grin (The main court plot is quite disgusting in this episode and in any case, irrelevant to this thread. I hope.)

Dumdedumdedum · 01/05/2019 11:30

Apologies if that episode has been referenced on these threads before.

PerkingFaintly · 01/05/2019 11:40

Hah, yes, I've been watching The Good Fight too. Though somewhat Shock at recent developments.

Hearhere · 01/05/2019 11:53

Breaking News: Robert Mueller wrote a letter to the attorney general objecting to his characterization that the Russia inquiry appeared to clear President Trump

The letter adds to the growing evidence of a rift between them and is another sign of the anger among the special counsel’s investigators about Barr’s characterization of their findings

Trumpy has gone into a retweeting spin--retweeting anyone critical of Biden. The firefighters thing seems to have pushed him over the edge.

lionheart · 01/05/2019 14:29

I can't see anyone or anything stopping Mueller. Smile

We're set up in Florida, tuned in to CNN for Barr's Testimony, but when Graham 'Cracker' started going off on the 2016 election and the Dems and how honest Scrotus and his gang were, we had to turn it off.

We're on vacation. No stress. No bullshit.

And remember friends, when you're rallying in London the cry is "Trump is a BAWBAG!".

'Accomplished people lacking inner strength can’t resist the compromises necessary to survive Mr. Trump and that adds up to something they will never recover from. It takes character like Mr. Mattis’s to avoid the damage, because Mr. Trump eats your soul in small bites.'

lionheart · 01/05/2019 18:06

'Next comes Mr. Trump attacking institutions and values you hold dear — things you have always said must be protected and which you criticized past leaders for not supporting strongly enough. Yet you are silent. Because, after all, what are you supposed to say? He’s the president of the United States.

You feel this happening. It bothers you, at least to some extent. But his outrageous conduct convinces you that you simply must stay, to preserve and protect the people and institutions and values you hold dear. Along with Republican members of Congress, you tell yourself you are too important for this nation to lose, especially now.

You can’t say this out loud — maybe not even to your family — but in a time of emergency, with the nation led by a deeply unethical person, this will be your contribution, your personal sacrifice for America. You are smarter than Donald Trump, and you are playing a long game for your country, so you can pull it off where lesser leaders have failed and gotten fired by tweet.

Of course, to stay, you must be seen as on his team, so you make further compromises. You use his language, praise his leadership, tout his commitment to values.

And then you are lost. He has eaten your soul.'
