YANBU. I love my asparagus roasted to death.

TheQueef · 26/03/2019 14:05

Bacon.
I hate insipid flabby undercooked bacon.
I want it cremated.

YesQueen · 26/03/2019 14:06

@TheQueef YES!
also crumpets, roast potatoes and sausages

Thisnamechanger · 26/03/2019 14:06

Crispy cheeseShock

Treaclesweet · 26/03/2019 14:07

Macaroni or cauliflower cheese. Best bits are always the burnt edges.
YABVVVU r.e brocalli though.

Kedgeree · 26/03/2019 14:07

Sausages.
Lamb and duck, can't stand either of them "pink".

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2019 14:08

Totally, I quite like my veggies a bit soggy, bacon needs to be done to a crisp as does anything cheesy,,,🤣

Kedgeree · 26/03/2019 14:08

Toast. Warmed bread is not toast.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 26/03/2019 14:08

Sausages
Bacon
Cheese
Pizza

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/03/2019 14:09

Potatoes. Can't stand hard potatoes. Give me a cooked to death jacket spud over a just cooked one any day!

Kedgeree · 26/03/2019 14:10

Scrambled eggs - I make mine bouncy. DH likes them sloppy .

Haha I thought I probably was; reminds me of that quote from Zadie Smith's White teeth:

"“Where I come from," said Archie, "a bloke likes to get to know a girl before he marries her."
"Where you come from it is customary to boil vegetables until they fall apart. This does not mean," said Samad tersely, "that it is a good idea.” "

Before even clicking on this thread I was thinking broccoli ha.

LiquoriceLane · 26/03/2019 14:11

The almost burned bits of cakes are lovely.

TheQueef · 26/03/2019 14:11

Bubble and squeak.
I micro mine to steaming hot before frying just so I get the crust on the bottom. Anything else is just mash and veg.

BaronessBomburst · 26/03/2019 14:14

Crumpets have to have a hard, crunchy top and a squidgy middle, and so much butter that it runs everyehere when you bite them.

Crockof · 26/03/2019 14:16

Agree! Esp crumpets, broccoli and bacon

Toast is tricky... Agree not warmed bread yuk but also not burnt

GoldenHour · 26/03/2019 14:18

Broccoli cheese bake with bacon bits, obliterate the lot 🤤

Kobea · 26/03/2019 14:19

Bacon
Lasagne
Toasties

Doghorsechicken · 26/03/2019 14:20

I second the almost burnt parts of cake. DM used to make cakes as a sideline whilst we were young and if she ever over cooked one it went to DB & I. Love overcooked cake!!

BlooperReel · 26/03/2019 14:21

Yes! Brussel sprouts I roast in the oven with bacon bits and butter, when they have smoky black bits on top they are done Grin

Potato wedges, need to be a bit crispy for me.
Bacon - the fat needs to be crisp.
Steak - I get called a heathen but cannot abide too much pink.
Cauliflower cheese - best when a bit crispy on top.

LiquoriceLane · 26/03/2019 14:26

Yes to Brussels sprouts. Actually make that all roasted veg.

redwoodmazza · 26/03/2019 14:29

Tomatoes - they taste so much better when a bit charred.
