Another vote for baked beans, in our house we cook them till they're 'furry', the sauce goes thick and beans are breaking down, you have to scrape the bottom of the pan. Just like at a proper greasy spoon where they've been on low heat all morning, awesome

Pasta! Al dente my arse.

SurgeHopper · 26/03/2019 20:30

Onions
butternut squash

I hate my veggies over cooked , I like them to fight back when I bite them ! .
But toast , chips, roasties ,all well done ( just shy of burnt ) but fried onions they need to be cremated esp if they are going on a burger . I always have to cook twice as much as I need cos I eat about half before they get tho the plate

TheMagicTorch · 26/03/2019 20:35

Yes yes yes to roast potatoes and anything with melty cheese i.e. lasagne, cauliflower cheese- I love the burnt cheese bits!
I also love really well done roasted vegetables.

TheMagicTorch · 26/03/2019 20:35

@Angie169 yes to burnt fried onions! I eat them straight out of the pan too! No shame!

ImARocketMan · 26/03/2019 20:49

100% agree with all of this, especially sausages. If they aren't just about black I don't want them near me!

I'm also a firm believer that any beige oven food needs at least 10 mins extra cooking than the instructions, can't be doing with pale hard oven chips or non-crispy chicken fillets.

Imacliche · 26/03/2019 20:58

Fried eggs... must be properly crispy
Onions
Melted cheese

For all of you baked beans overcookers, I salute you, and offer you additional joy. Overcooked to the point they’re breaking, with a large knob of butter plus freshly ground pepper and sea salt cooked in. The knob of butter just does something so right. People always ask what beans I use if they stay over long enough for a fry up. Heinz, obvs. But better.

I love overcooked sausages and burgers. Overcooked pasta is a CRIME though.
