Lamb chops- like the pp said about steak. I cannot abide any pink bits in lamb chops either. I very rarely eat them when out as they don’t cook them how I like them!

EngagedAgain · 26/03/2019 15:53

I used to do streaky bacon under the grill for sandwich, but well done rather than burnt bits, yummy. The only PP I disagree with is the burnt cake, but no offence to you. Please don't anyone put a hot cross bun in the toaster. I did (halved of course) and a piece of fruit stuck to the element, and blew it. £35/40 and ruined, just get cheapest now! 😬

FamilyOfAliens · 26/03/2019 15:57

Over cooked rice, spaghetti and broccoli?

Would rather eat nothing, thanks.

iolaus · 26/03/2019 16:00

YABU - food tasted better when cooked correctly - it's just that the majority of people UNDERCOOK certain foods

StarlaP · 26/03/2019 16:00

Baked beans! You know when you get them from the chip shop or a cafe and they’ve been bubbling away all day and they’re kind of mushy? They’re delicious!

goldengummybear · 26/03/2019 16:10

Yanbu but soggy veggies are 🤢

Bluntness100 · 26/03/2019 16:13

Pink pork turns my tummy, I'm always a bite eugh when I see them salivating over it on masterchef.

But soggy veg,,,oh yes, with loads of butter. Yum.

IntoValhalla · 26/03/2019 16:17

Anything with cheese on it!
I cook my lasagnes until the cheese has gone that lovely partially crispy, golden/orangey colour and it is lush!

BobbinThreadbare123 · 26/03/2019 16:27

StarlaP you are so right! I love beans that have been cooked like that.

mirime · 26/03/2019 16:29

Pasta bake/macaroni cheese.
Bacon
Cheese & ham toasties
Sausages
Brussels sprouts - my dad used to cook them sometimes on the weekends if my mum was working. They were amazing, and very overcooked.

Sweetpea55 · 26/03/2019 16:36

Lord above you lot are making me ravenous. Iv just had a tooth out and can't eat for a while.

I like well done crumpets. It takes ages to get the black.
And baked beans boiled up until they are all mushy

Cwtches123 · 26/03/2019 16:44

Welsh cakes that are a bit burnt are the food of the gods!

GallicosCats · 26/03/2019 17:05

Pork absolutely has to be crispy on the outside and properly done in the middle. Likewise sausages and burgers. I always understood that they're a health hazard underdone. I'm on the fence with vegetables. Interestingly, carrots and cruciferous veg (cabbage, cauli, broccoli) release different vitamins at different stages of the cooking process. So lightly boiled/steamed veg have more vitamin C and softer veg have more of the carotenoids and chlorophylls available for absorption. I love raw carrots and broccoli stems, but they taste just as good cooked.

Ells0204 · 26/03/2019 17:41

Fish fingers!!!

And fries/chips. Nothing worse than a pale chip.

TheQueef · 26/03/2019 17:43

Fish fingers, good call I hate sweaty fish fingers.

wherehavealltheflowersgone · 26/03/2019 17:45

Another vote for baked beans! The sauce goes kinda thick - much nicer!

PutYourShirtOnMartin · 26/03/2019 18:13

I like the very brown crunchy bits on mash potato on the top of a cottage or fish pie.

I will leave the pie in for extra time just to get the brown bits...and then I scrape round the pie dish ...all for me

Thisnamechanger · 26/03/2019 18:54

Cabbage as well (also butter). I'm noticing a pattern with my veggies to butter ratio!

Oh yes and the burnt bits at the bottom of the roasting dish when you've roasted a chicken,,,

Livpool · 26/03/2019 19:18

Crumpets have to well done - almost burnt. Yum 😋

Newbie1981 · 26/03/2019 19:29

Crumpets have to be burnt

PentreBachCymraeg · 26/03/2019 19:55

Home made rice pudding 'skin'. Grin

Proseccoagain · 26/03/2019 20:03

Carrots should be overcooked, can't stand them crunchy. And the burnt crispy bits on top of a cheesy pasta bake. And fried onions.

LiquoriceLane · 26/03/2019 20:09

My Iranian friend loves burnt rice that is the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot. Apparently it's a big thing in Iran.

Meatbadger · 26/03/2019 20:21

Stir fry noodles that get stuck to the pan mmmm
