So I let an acquaintance borrow one of the slings from my embarrassingly large collection a while ago. Made it clear that I’d be wanting it back.
Fast forward a few months and I’m expecting another baby, so will be needing it. It one of the few on the market with a lower weight limit for tiny babies (suitable from 5lbs) and I make small babies, which is why it’s this specific sling I’ll be wanting for my new baby.
Asked the other day about getting it back, and she said “oh it’s I’ve packed it away somewhere but will look.”
Mentioned it to another friend who also knows her and said she’s pretty sure that it was being advertised on a Facebook selling site a while back
AIBU to call her out on it, and expect either my sling back or the money to replace it?!
Who does that? Borrows something from a friend and then flogs it on the sly?!!

Shameless place marking. This happened to someone I know, lent something of significant value to someone, who then flogged it before moving house. Never admitted it, but never responded to any request to return it. They were moving country and it definitely wasn't something they'd have taken with them.

My Young daughter just smashed my expensive china plate while I was preparing for a fancy meal with my in Laws.
Wanting to punish her as the plate was very expensive (£100 +) but remember that she is young. Stuck in this dilemma. Need help fast ladies.

We borrowed a lot of stuff from my sister in law when we were expecting DS a year ago and it would never have even occurred to me to sell those things on. In fact SiL even said to us if we didn't need things could we return them to her so that she could sell them on herself, which is entirely fair enough!

We also got a lot of stuff from neighbours and when they said they didn't want it back we said we'd donate it all to charity shops. Seems really unreasonable to a) profit from something 'given' to you at no cost and b) to it at all when your been clear that you'd want or need it back! Hope she gives you the full money and not just offers the tenner she got. (If she's even decent enough to do that!)
