to think that £150 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a toaster

and even more unreasonable to have actually considered doing so (especially as we are a bit boracic just now).

I mean, is it REALLY going to make better toast than the £19.99 jobby from argos, or do i just want it to look pretty (very 50's retro) But seriously, does it make a difference? I remember my mother giving us quite an expensive toaster ages ago and it made shite toast, although it wasnt £150.

We have been making toast on the grill for years now because of the shite toaster but now i want a toaster and cant decide on £9.99 or saving up for an all singing all dancing toaster in primrose yellow and shiny chrome.

So who is/has spent this much and yes I agree they are bonkers, they should have paid 20 quid like the rest of us and given the rest to a donkey sanctuary.

Blondilocks · 30/06/2007 21:42

I had a cheap toaster at uni & it wasn't that great. But think you can get a good one for less than £150.

AngharadGoldenhand · 30/06/2007 21:42

£9.99 - it's got to work properly then - can't rely on its good looks to get by!

KbearBrockovich · 30/06/2007 21:42

It will still burn the toast and set the smoke alarm off every day, just like a cheap one!

I wouldn't pay that much unless it made the tea as well .

UCM · 30/06/2007 21:44

Make the fucking tea, I would want a fucking massage an' all for 150 quid.

southeastastra · 30/06/2007 21:44

i'd like a dualit, nice thick toast.

lucyellensmum · 30/06/2007 21:47

that was what it was, a dualit - personally thought im with UCM, i would want it dressed in an apron, bringing me the toast in bed, along with croissants and tea, i just cant decide whether to have the massage before or after, theres the crumbs issue you see.

I think ill stick to the gril and wait til me horse comes in first.

ScottishMummy · 30/06/2007 22:06

my point is - if it is your money and you chose to spend on a consumer durable (whatever the brand/cost/source it is up to you)

madamenoir · 30/06/2007 22:06

I don't care!
Apparently they were sold out in Edinburgh so we had to order it from the Glasgow branch!
(Now I am confident I will get lynched )
