I'm annoyed to read that he allegedly has a brand new Range Rover bad is back on public roads without a seatbelt today.

With elderly parents I know it's difficult but he's being a fool. OP post edited by MNHQ

I think he is much to old to be still driving himself. Why can’t he hire somebody? I guess he has the money...

cheesywotnots · 19/01/2019 19:55

Is he on the public road or on one of their private estates, I wonder if the other driver affected is back driving yet or is resting and being sensible.

You are wrong. It is one they have apparently moved from Balmoral to Sandringham

tiggerkid · 19/01/2019 20:01

If he is back on the road, it would be because he knows he'll never have to face any real responsibility for any of his actions and so he doesn't care.

Look at the incident he's just had: the local council is investigating what can be done with that stretch of the road to prevent future accidents! That's great but what are we going to do with the white elephant in the room, which is why was he driving at 97 and how do we prevent anything like that from happening again?

Flyingfish2019 · 19/01/2019 20:03

I think there is also something wrong with his eyesight, isn’t it? Hiseyes look like it.

noodlenosefraggle · 19/01/2019 20:05

Apparently the decision about the Road was made well before his accident as there have been several fatal accidents there. I don't understand the no seat belt thing unless he's driving round his estate.

Flyingfish2019 · 19/01/2019 20:06

You know what I just thought... is there the possibility he reads this thread and sees us gossiping... but that highly unlikely, isn’t it? Most 97 year olds do not Internetauftritt and why should he be on mumsnet?

Orchidflower1 · 19/01/2019 20:07

It’s not the quick turn around of the car that’s annoyed me - he could have Lewis Hamilton’s F1 car for all I car BUT NOT ON THE PUBLIC ROADS!!!

I love how it’s clearly the fault of the council for allowing the speed limit when anyone over the age of 90, whether they are a royal, a super hero or joe bloggs should not be driving full stop.

delboysskinandblister · 19/01/2019 20:08

Not the first car accident in that family to be involved in a Royal cover-up.

I'd put money on him pulling out without looking. There was a lot not said about the other parties....until today.

Flyingfish2019 · 19/01/2019 20:08

Hate my autocorrect

noodlenosefraggle · 19/01/2019 20:08

It's not just her people are talking about it. I bet the Palace press office are on the case and putting a positive spin on it. I can't imagine he cares anymore what people think of him, if he ever did!

Flyingfish2019 · 19/01/2019 20:10

I think EVERYBODY cares about what people think of him atleast a bit deep down in his/her heart...

CoffeeRunner · 19/01/2019 20:11

It’s certainly down to the fact that he knows he will suffer no repercussions.

If this were any other 97 year old, what would be happening now? What would the Police be strongly advising? I’d take a guess at it being for the family to not replace the car and/or hide his keys!

AvocadosBeforeMortgages · 19/01/2019 20:12

YANBU.

It's incredibly selfish of him to keep driving on the public roads. He clearly has the money to get someone to drive him, and nearly killing 3 people should have been a wake up call.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 19/01/2019 20:25

Hardly surprising he has always been arrogant and selfish

Great an even bigger and heavier car for him to be in charge of Hmm

🤦‍♀️

Amanduh · 19/01/2019 20:34

‘Something wrong with his eyes’ he passed the police eyesight tests, so whats the problem?
The woman who crashed in to him was clearly speeding.
There are multiple, multiple crashes on that road and if you know the road, you will know that pulling out there with someone travelling at speed when you think it’s clear and safe could easily happen.
He was also pictured on private land, with absolutely ridiculous assumptions about ‘grass under the car’ and ‘he was on public roads previously and now he doesnt have a seatbelt’ which is pure conjecture and tosh. What exactly is cantankerous about legally driving when you are eligible and have passed police tests?

They also say it’s a new car (it isn’t)
I suggest you stop reading The Sun.

Wilowthewisp · 19/01/2019 20:37

It said he had been spotted on the sandringham estate? Not on a public road

Minglemangle · 19/01/2019 20:46

He needs to stop driving, it is completely bizarre that he is let loose on the roads when he has staff to drive him.

SuziQ10 · 19/01/2019 20:48

It's quite inconsiderate to the two ladies and baby who were in the small car he collided with yesterday.
They are probably very shaken by being crashed into by a massive Range Rover. He should have learnt his lesson.

Mumberjack · 19/01/2019 21:01

Yes @SuziQ10 that’s it - regardless of him being physically able to drive, he should have shown a bit of respect towards the other people involved. It’s just arrogance and obviously no-one around him has the balls to question him

Wow. The fact he is driving an absolute beast like a Range Rover makes it even worse!! Those in the wrong hands can do so much damage to others if they hit another car!!

doodlejump1980 · 19/01/2019 21:06

@Amanduh The woman who crashed in to him was clearly speeding. You know this how?

Wildcate · 19/01/2019 21:06

Every news article I’ve read says he was seen driving on the estate.

Anyone got a link saying it was on a public road?
