I'm new here and I've notice that quite a few posters change their name on here so they're not sussed out I guess?

Does any of your friends and family know that you use mumsnet? Or do you not even mention it in case your baiting yourself out

Curious to know.

I could tell you but I'd have to kill you.

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 11/01/2019 18:27

DP knows I’m here but no one else.

Thewifipasswordis · 11/01/2019 18:28

Don't I know you?

Sparklingbrook · 11/01/2019 18:29

DH knows and the DC do but other than that I don't mention it. They know my NN so could have a look if they wanted. I have nothing to hide.

comebacksoonsusan · 11/01/2019 18:31

I can never meet anyone willing to say they're on MN.

Neverunderfed · 11/01/2019 18:33

I have a friend whose husband mentioned she comes on here, but I haven't looked for her.

I have name changed periodically (like, 3 times over 10 years), but just for fun really. I'm not overly contraversial and wouldn't say anything on here that I would worry about people seeing really.

InDubiousBattle · 11/01/2019 18:34

I 'outed' myself to a friend by typing 'ds' in a text!!! She obviously had to out herself by admitting she knew what it meant.

I've not name changed yet. DH knows I use MN. He acknowledges that MN always has the answer.

My closest work colleague knows I use MN but she doesn't know my username. I know she uses it too but I don't know her username either. No-one else knows.

Girlicorne · 11/01/2019 18:35

I mention it to a lot of people but I don't share my username with them. I m really identifiable as well if people I knew look at all my posts but I don't mind that, I haven't shared any secrets or been horrible to anyone! No one I know has admitted to being on here.

Neverunderfed · 11/01/2019 18:36

Yeah, pointing that out unnecessarily does make you a bit of a wanker weary.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/01/2019 18:37

On the internet nobody knows you are a dog...

Justkeeprollingalong · 11/01/2019 18:37

@Wearywithteens I'm with you, also backing away slowly... 😉

John4703 · 11/01/2019 18:37

I use the same user name on a few websites so some people will know who I am. I am not ashamed to be here and I stand by anything I've posted. My user name is 4703 as I was born in March 1947 = 0347 so as that was not available I switched the year and month to 4703.
Let us all be proud of what we post on here.

uhtredsonofuhtred · 11/01/2019 18:37

@Wearywithteens sorry I'm dyslexic, I get it all the time

Quite a few know I use mumsnet some my username, including husband. I don't post threads though.

DramaAlpaca · 11/01/2019 18:37

DH & the DC know but that's all.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/01/2019 18:38

Heh heh heh

PristineCondition · 11/01/2019 18:38

MN is my dirty little secret.
Dp thinks I’m on Reddit all the time

elQuintoConyo · 11/01/2019 18:38

Husband knows. Best friend knows, but doesn't use the site herself.

That's it. I don't talk about Mumsnet. I want to keep it all to myself...and 6 million others Grin

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/01/2019 18:39

Grrrr didn’t attach

I am one of those Mumsnetters who doesn't care about spelling mistakes on here. As long as I can understand what's being said it's fine by me.

It's MN Talk not GCSE English.

Sunflowermuma · 11/01/2019 18:40

My husband knows I use it. I wouldn't mind telling others but it never really comes up in conversation

elQuintoConyo · 11/01/2019 18:40

How I see the grammar police...

Yeah I've mentioned it. It's a parenting site, not the Freemasons!
