To think Harry and Meghan’s photo is odd looking?!

Just having a look at the royal family Christmas card pics. Very nice. Love William and Kate’s family pic. How sweet are those kids 😍

Lots of people on Twitter raving about Meghan and Harry’s photo. I genuinely really like Harry and Meghan. Nothing against them whatsoever.

But I absolutely refuse to believe that i am alone in thinking their photo is so awkward looking!

She looks stunning and the background is amazing but it just looks weird! I think it’s the way he’s standing. It’s not elegant. It looks really odd to me.

Anyone else??

@Shepherdspieisminging
Saying you’re not a white family whilst trashing her is weird, I have no idea about your ethnicity.
You can either state your ethnic background or keep it to yourself I don’t give a shit!!

Ghanagirl you seem to have a problem with Sheperdspieisminging if you see racism you should let Mumsnet know and they will remove those posts but I think you'll be struggling to be honest.

Don’t worry shepherd has form for calling people racist with absolutely no evidence.

On this thread she’s offered the rationale that “different” MUST be code for “black” in criticisms of MM, ignoring the fact that ANY American, showbiz, super-confident person joining the BRF is already “different” to the royal norm in many ways. So she’s doing her usual thing of being super illogical and you can safely ignore.

You haven't sounded remotely racist as far as i can see Flowers

ViragoKnows · 17/12/2018 08:46

Oops Blush That should say;

Don’t worry shepherd, Ghana has form for calling people racist with absolutely no evidence.

JamieFrasersArse · 17/12/2018 09:25

@Ghanagirl I can see your point. Unfortunately most MNetters think racism comes wearing a pointy hat and burning a cross and they either ignore or are unaware of the more insidious kind, the dog whistle racism. And if you point it out then they get offended that they've been called racist rather than pause to consider and examine what they've said.

What has it come to when a BAME MNer is being bullied with accusations that she’s done something indiscernable but nevertheless racist?

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 11:27

I've read all the posts here and haven't seen anything in any way racist. If you have, you really should contact MM as they take racist posts very seriously and would no doubt remove such posts immediately.

But as I warned posters previously, anything in any way critical of Her Royal Belly-Cupness is going to get you called all sorts of foul names here. No evidence required.

JacquesHammer · 17/12/2018 11:47

Her Royal Belly-Cupness

You know there are countless pictures of a pregnant Duchess of Cambridge holding her bump...Wink

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 11:52

I'd be genuinely curious to see photos of Kate grabbing her bump with two hands - and not just for a few seconds either - while at a formal event.

Lweji · 17/12/2018 11:53

Apart from not caring, they have their backs to the camera and you're complaining about the way he's standing, OP?

How can anyone tell how she's looking?

They're just showing two fingers to the public aren't they? good for them

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 11:55

The same public that subsidises their extraordinarily lavish lifestyle?

If that's how they feel, maybe they should renouce the titles and all the attendant privileges, and head back to Toronto where Meghan can continue her career as a cable TV actress.

Ah so there are degrees of belly-cupping behaviour Grin

FYI do a google search, the first several on mine are Kate meeting dignitaries cupping said pregnant stomach. One clearly wearing evening dress.

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 12:03

Well yeah. Stroking your belly subsconsciously is obviously different from grabbing it with both hands for an extended period, at an event which was supposed to be honouring another woman.

If you say so. I've not seen comparable photos, let alone 'countless' ones, though if they exist I'll happily slag Kate off too. What goggle search criteria did you use? "Kate belly cup"?

JacquesHammer · 17/12/2018 12:04

See also pics of Zara Tindall.

Uh huh Grin

FirstOfHerName · 17/12/2018 12:08

Has it not occurred to anyone that with all that noise, the baby might've suddenly become very active and it was an instinctive reaction to grab her belly?

And in the grand scheme of things is it really something to get so het up about?

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 12:16

Who's 'het up'? I just find all the reality TV style atttention-seeking quite amusing, in a cringey sort of way.

As I said above, if we're going to have to subsidise these people, the least they could do is give us an opportunity for a laugh now and again.

Becles · 17/12/2018 12:20

@IcedPurple

Apart touching her belly in a way you find unacceptable, what reality style behaviour has MM been up to?

FirstOfHerName · 17/12/2018 12:29

Who's 'het up'?

Erm, maybe the poster who takes the time to continue to post about it and has come up with the nickname Her Royal Belly-Cupness?

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 12:34

Like I already said, I find it all amusing and enjoy having a laugh at the expense of people who live lavish lifestyles at our expense. If you want to think I'm all 'het up' about it, well, that's fine too.

IcedPurple · 17/12/2018 12:37

@Becles

  • Vanity Fair interview
  • Dropping hints about her relationship with Harry on her 'lifestyle' blog
  • Wearing a dress slit to the upper thigh on the Oz tour
  • Posing for selfies while attending an event in her capacity as Duchess

for example.

Becles · 17/12/2018 13:05
