I have been taking a bit of a break from politics after the huge midterm push, but the crisis at the border is compelling me back in...

Across and others in the US, have you called your congresspeople yet about this poor child's death? I called my rep and both senators today to demand Nielsen's resignation, whatever good that will do. I live in a blue state, though, so not sure how far it will go. Am going to be brave and contact relatives in a purple border state to see if I can persuade them to call their representatives. The entire border policy is unconscionable, shameful, evil...

Only "acting", I see. And given recent trends, I wonder if Mulvaney knows he's been landed with the job, or whether 45 is just hoping announcing makes it so?

I like that national review article Lion. The GOP are turning a blind eye but surely for not much longer.

I loathe this Nielsen woman... she has a heart of stone. Let's blame the little 7 year old's death on her parents then. She was held by DHS for 8 hours before she died and no one knows if she was ever even given water. She died of dehydration. Disgusting woman.

It’s hard to find the right word to describe the Trumps using the inauguration to funnel money to the Trump Organization’s hotel in a government building for which Trump is landlord and tenant. I think the word “Trump” may say all that needs saying here.

Disturbing - loyalty should be to the Constitution, not a family. Otherwise it’s a textbook dictatorship. DT Jr. agrees with the sentiments of the second tweet, too, giving it extra ominous weight.

The CNN article about the top secret grand jury appeal was interesting lion.
All that effort to stop people knowing what and who. I wonder why.

They seemed not to cover all their bases though...
