Easy to overlook but here is the Comey transcript:

Thanks, lion.

PerkingFaintly · 08/12/2018 22:29

Thanks for that lionheart.

Have started reading it, but so far it consists almost entirely of Trey Gowdy trying to put words in Jim Comey's mouth, while saying "I'm not trying to put words in your mouth."

Oh, and a GOP committee member saying he's no intention of honouring an agreement made between the GOP committee chair and Comey, about waiting till the end of the interview to release the contents.

So, business as usual.

Comey makes a point virtually everyone gets wrong: there was an investigation into RU, and an investigation into Trump's folks.

This is a really important point by

, often overlooked by GOP critics. The original FBI Russia probe was meant to PROTECT the Trump campaign, to protect against Russians trying to penetrate it. The horror arrived when the FBI realized Trump wanted the help.

How Donald Trump Shifted $1.1M Of Campaign-Donor Money Into His Business

Pain reading that article, it's gobsmacking how much Trump is allowed to get away with, compared to previous Presidents. How can this happen? What about the Emoluments clause, so many times I read that he has violated it but nothing is done.

As I understand it, you cannot use your position to enhance your personal wealth. But that is what Trump does day in day out. From golf carts, to hotels, to real estate. I wonder if this is what will be his downfall. He's the first POTUS not to put his businesses into a blind trust.

This sums it up nicely.

'Because President Trump is accepting numerous valuable benefits from foreign states through his business empire without having first obtained the affirmative consent of Congress, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Representative Jerrold Nadler, and nearly 200 other Members of Congress are asking the federal courts to compel the President to comply with the Constitution.'

Mob mentality: how Mueller is working to turn Trump's troops
As the special counsel ‘flips’ presidential allies one by one, prosecutors see parallels to efforts against organized crime

From the end of the article (my bold):
As for when the final act in the Mueller investigation will begin, the swarm of court filings and jockeying of the past two weeks could indicate that “there’s still quite a bit to go”, said Honig.

“I think these past couple weeks have shown us that we’re not really in the ninth inning as some people had said,” he said, “that Mueller’s still got a lot of information that he’s processing and dealing with that’s turning into potentially criminal charges – and I think that the bigger picture is sort of starting to come into focus.”

Cotter said: “We’re in stage two. We’re hearing the indictments and the pleas, people cooperating. Then there’s going to be a stage three, where people who are not cooperating, just – the hammer falls.

“And I don’t know if it’s going to be Don Jr, or [Jared] Kushner, or who knows. But I think it’s going to happen, and I can’t tell you when. But I think it’s going to happen.”

Confirmed, Ayers told Trump he won’t take the chief of staff role. He’s still leaving the administration and is likely to have a role with the super PAC backing Trump.

This is a Trump lawyer-lackey who wrote a book Trump promoted via tweet called the “Russia Hoax”. Grin I believe he may wish to eat his book within the next few months or so and this tweet is serious sour grapes talking. (It’s about the Cohen filing.)

Frankly, it should be against the law to allow a bunch of snot-nosed kids, fresh out of law school, to file a federal court document that contorts the law in a deliberate effort to implicate the President in wrongdoing. Did they even read the law? Comprehend it? Morons.

The Trump Administration has accomplished more than any other U.S. Administration in its first two (not even) years of existence, & we are having a great time doing it! All of this despite the Fake News Media, which has gone totally out of its mind-truly the Enemy of the People!

BREAKING: If I were President Trump, I would pardon Paul Manafort.

If #Manafort was going to be prosecuted as a consequence of his tax crimes or lobbying crimes, that would have happened more than a decade ago. The only reason he was prosecuted is because of politics.
