why brioche buns with burgers?

a - they're sweet
b - they fall to pieces before you've finished your burger, especially if there's a lot of filling.

AIBU to wonder why a more robust bun isn't used?

Sweet bread (not to be confused with sweetbreads) is lovely. Especially with cheese.

Grumpbum123 · 25/11/2018 09:16

I agree it’s wrong

Bloomcounty · 25/11/2018 09:17

C - they're revolting with a burger.

I'm one of those pita's that ask for a normal bun or no bun if all they have is brioche. ItIt doesn't taste good to me. I know I'm in the minority though.

SockQueen · 25/11/2018 09:18

Completely agree. Brioche is lovely. Burgers are lovely. That doesn't mean they should go together!

JeezYouLoon · 25/11/2018 09:18

YANBU, I also don't get the brioche bun connection with a burger. I always order the burger without the bun.

shamalawa · 25/11/2018 09:23

Nooooo YABU it's the best!! And I've never had one fall apart TBF

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2018 09:23

I don’t eat meat but if I have those fake chickens quorn burgers I use brioche buns.

dementedpixie · 25/11/2018 09:25

Aldi brioche burger buns with sesame seeds are the best.

secondarymincepie · 25/11/2018 09:26

I agree, it fills me with rage when I see the words "on a brioche bun" on a menu.
Do I like brioche? Yes.
Do I want my brioche filled with meat? God no! It's too sweet!

FunshineCareBear · 25/11/2018 09:26

Yanbu. I want a normal bun

BifsWif · 25/11/2018 09:28

YANBU.

I hate brioche buns.

littlemisssunshine81 · 25/11/2018 09:28

YANBU if I am really looking forward to a nice burger and it comes in a brioche bun it boils my blood!

Bloomcounty · 25/11/2018 09:30

Which is worse, brioche bun with a burger, or the meal served in a basket/tray/slate/trendy unhygienic surface?

shockedballoon · 25/11/2018 09:31

Brioche is pants for burgers. Fact.

lucydo · 25/11/2018 09:32

the worst is brioche bun

I'm not keen on slates etc, but it doesn't change the taste of the food

AuntMarch · 25/11/2018 09:33

Can't beat a cheap and cheerful seeded bread bun. The brioche ones are always too small as well.

formerbabe · 25/11/2018 09:33

I make my dd 8 chicken burgers sometimes. She'll only have them in brioche buns!

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 25/11/2018 09:33

Have sweet bread with cheese and a cup of strong tea for breakfast. One food the Russians got definitely right.

lucydo · 25/11/2018 09:34

probably because they're so sweet perhaps?

OP posts:
bychoiceornot · 25/11/2018 09:36

100% wrong in my eyes! I'm with those who order without bun if it's all that's on the menu. Brioche is lovely in its own right, but not with burgers!

lucydo · 25/11/2018 09:36

is sweet bread the same as brioche Lord?

OP posts:
greyspottedgoose · 25/11/2018 09:36

Aldi brioche bun, toasted, every time!

Bloomcounty · 25/11/2018 09:37

Brioche + cheese = yum.

Brioche + meal = yuk.

Bloomcounty · 25/11/2018 09:38

Meal???? Meat.

Doje · 25/11/2018 09:38

It puts me off choosing the burger on a menu if it comes with a brioche bun, but I never thought to just ask for a normal bun! Genius!
