And does anyone actually use it?

I'd like to know this too. Never encountered anyone using it, but worried that I will one day and won't know how to say it - Mux? Mix? Neither sound great.

Racecardriver · 18/11/2018 15:48

Mz? Mks? Guck only knows. This is one of those situations when I use a first name.

Tartsamazeballs · 18/11/2018 15:48

It's pronounced "Motocross" 😁

JenBarber · 18/11/2018 15:49

In my head it's 'murks'.

gendercritter · 18/11/2018 15:50

It's pronounced 'Fanshawe'

Hth Wink

canihaveanap · 18/11/2018 15:51

Watching with interest. I have encountered a handful of people in my job that use this but wouldn't know how to say it

LucyMorningStar · 18/11/2018 15:52

What's MX and why do we need to pronounce it? Is it something to do with all that transgender palaver?

abacucat · 18/11/2018 15:54

Pronoun for someone who says they are neither female or male.

OP posts:
WhirlyGigWhirlyGig · 18/11/2018 15:58

How can you be neither male or female? Hmm

Juicer54321 · 18/11/2018 15:58

I’ve encountered it. I just used first and surname but I wish I’d asked them how to pronounce it .

Mix? At a guess? Never come across anyone who uses it though.

I tend not to use titles in everyday life... people are just Sarah Jones or Bill Smith. I don't care if you're a Miss, Ms or Mrs.

But calling yourself Mx is just attention seeking, in my very humble opinion. Either stick to Mr/Ms or tell people you'd prefer to be known as neither.

starzig · 18/11/2018 16:03

Haha maybe I would say mix. Had the same problem with Mrs when I was little.

starzig · 18/11/2018 16:04

I hate being called ms. Piper.

SendintheArdwolves · 18/11/2018 16:06

It's pronounced "mixter".

Like "mister" but with an x

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2018 16:13

Mixter?? Seriously?

People need to sod off with the ridiculousness.

Dragon3 · 18/11/2018 16:13

It's pronounced 'Fanshawe' Grin

UpstartCrow · 18/11/2018 16:15

The fuss and ridicule I've heard people make over 'Ms', I cant believe this is suddenly being taken so seriously.

RedToothBrush · 18/11/2018 16:16

You say it exactly as if you were talking under your breathe and swearing.

VashtaNerada · 18/11/2018 16:17

It’s pronounced Mks

It is probably being taken very seriously by the people who invented it and/or demand that everyone else has to use it as well want to use it, but the rest of us? Meh.
