I remember Nixon, I was just coming out of my teens and do remember it being all over the news.Interesting to hear the comparisons or otherwise with Trump.

I wonder how much DJT is going to embarrass himself in Paris. He should realise this is not about him. It's about the 100 year centenary of WW1. I think it will be very moving. Where we live our War memorials have been very sensitively decorated and I just want to link to this picture, this is near me, and is so so moving - the ghosts of fallen soldiers. We must never forget.

Roussette That's actually quite moving. What materials were used? I'm guessing some sort of mesh but can't discern whether it's textile or just possibly fine metal or something else altogether.

I remember Nixon. I think he was bright whereas Trump, stupid. ('Bright' to me doesn't necessarily imply great intelligence.) He seemed at the mercy of a neurosis, Trump of a personality disorder. Nixon a snake in the grass; Trump a bull in a china chop.

I'm more wary than gleeful. Others who made Mueller agreements (Flynn, Papadopoulos) faced minor repercussions and brag about their victories. Trump is consolidating power and packing courts. I'm waiting to see if Manafort actually cooperates and if justice is actually served.

WSJ reports that federal prosecutors in SDNY had an 80-page draft indictment ready to go on Michael Cohen before he pled. I worked in SDNY and I can tell you: 80 pages is (to use a technical term) a LOOOOOONG indictment. Had to be lots of crimes and co-conspirators in there.
