I can't think of any.......

PainintheEar None.....that is the epitome of racism.

BolleauxtoBankers · 08/11/2018 19:28

Well, he’s gone right down in my estimation. But he was shitty to Hillary, too, no?

GrinitchSpinach · 08/11/2018 19:40

He was shitty to Hillary.

I may get flamed for this, but...I think the worst thing about it is that many, many people who generally want to be on his side have explained to him over and over again how racism and sexism work & affect people's lives in very real ways, and Bernie...either can't or won't get it.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 08/11/2018 20:00

Bernie is another old white man who needs to give it up and step aside for the future. (And I say this as an old-ish white woman)

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 08/11/2018 20:01

He does have form for this, so no flaming from me. I was just stumped about what other possible interpretation I was missing as it seems incredible to offer this up as a defence.

Lweji · 08/11/2018 20:25

I was thinking earlier that the USofEurope may come sooner than we think and all thanks to Trump (and possibly, somewhat behind the scenes, his pal Vlad).

@jimsciutto
Breaking: Federal Appeals Court upholds ruling blocking Trump administration from ending DACA, the Obama-era program that protects young undocumented immigrants who came to US as children from being deported.

US of Europe was where I'd thought I'd lived, till 2016, Lweji still hope to.Wink

Shock
woman11017 · 08/11/2018 22:17

The Al Gore thingy has been a harsh lesson. Kudos to the dems insisting on correct counts. It's been quite Jim Crowy?

V disappointed with Bernie's comments. He's saying odd things today about trump too. Weird.

PerkingFaintly · 08/11/2018 22:32

Another recount just announced:

US mid-terms 2018: Florida senate race recount triggered

Though outgoing Governor Rick Scott claimed victory over incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson on Tuesday, a statewide vote recount has now been triggered. The margin between the two has narrowed to within 0.5% of each other.

Not legal, but why would they care about things like ‘Geneva Convention’ and ‘the Constitution’?

Sorry, I'm still stuck n horror on the Orwellian nightmare that is the Sarah Sanders’ doctored video of the intern accosting Jim Acosta. People are seeing fake news in action and accepting it as real. It’s a nightmare.

TheClaws · 09/11/2018 05:53

Some lawyers are calling this tweet an impeachable offence. It certainly is interference and unacceptable for him to insist that a state voted one way or the other before the vote count is finalised.

Bolleau I agree.

Why are people just accepting this? Why isn’t CNN threatening to sue on Acosta’s behalf for deformation? Why aren’t other journalists insisting something be done?

It was clear as day on the BBC footage that he did nothing and if anybody was at fault it was the mic grabber aggressively invading his personal space. He was very controlled and non aggressive.

Why is holding onto a mic deemed ejection worthy but boasting about grabbing women by the genitals on camera isn’t?

Why isn’t America up in arms and why aren’t the media and politicians insisting Acosta gets reinstated?

I don’t get it. Confused

The stark contrast with support shown for Gianforte when he beat up Ben Jacobs is telling.

amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/11/08/politics/white-house-matt-whitaker-criticism/index.html

There is a growing sense of concern inside the White House over the negative reaction to Matthew Whitaker being tapped as acting attorney general after Jeff Sessions' abrupt firing.

Whitaker, who was Sessions' chief of staff, has faced criticism since Wednesday afternoon's announcement for his previous comments on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

Several senior officials told CNN they were surprised by the criticism, and believe it could potentially jeopardize Whitaker's chances of remaining in the post if it continues to dominate headlines.

[...]It was not widely known among White House staff that he'd commented repeatedly on the special counsel's investigation in interviews and on television -- which is ironic given that this is what drew President Donald Trump to him and raises continued questions over the depth of the administration's vetting process.

TV hate preacher is supposedly home invaded and becomes victim.
People in charge keep offering prayers for gun out-of-control victims.
...
It's looking great.

It's going to be 2 very long years. Or more...

Lweji · 09/11/2018 07:39

I've seen suggestions that Acosta was set up. President doesn't like him, but calls him to as question, Acosta pushes as he alwyas does, fragile looking intern at the ready to grab microphone (why would she out of the blue?), President goes on a rant about how bad Acosta is, video is shown of Acosta touching the woman.
Acosta is banned. Job done.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/11/2018 07:44

Orwellian is such a good description.
