Thank you, QuietContraryMary, I think I've almost got it, your last sentence gave me a lightbulb moment! It's just the actual number of votes not translating to a majority which confounds me, but yes, of vourse, the same goes for the British system so I should be used to it.

I got a taster of Scrotus presser ramblings and turned the channel as fast as I could. All 'me me me' and how HE was responsible for the Repug candidates who won last night. It was more than I could tolerate without blowing a gasket.

Great news about Abrams vs Kemp. I'm so glad she didn't concede last night. And although he didn't win, the number of votes Beto received would be considered a mandate by any other reasonable candidate. But Cruz is incapable of seeing past his own (brown-) nose.

(I do hope 'brown-nosing' is a phrase common in the UK)

Bad enough the "Sit down" and not answering questions - suburban women, waffle about Ohio Florida men who won. But his reaction to foreign correspondents 'Can't understand you' Wtf?

And the question about Erdogan and Khashoggi - do not believe he couldn't understand the Lebanese reporter's question, think he had to say that because he didn't initially get who Erdogan was.
