Dd is three in a couple of months.
She is 103cm
Her weight is 3st and 2lbs
She doesn’t appear to eat anymore than her peers and she is active. I’ve tried to up her activity levels and have cut out biscuits etc although she has the occasional ice cream when out.
She was big born and has been big ever since. She seems to gain weight very easily and not lose it. I don’t want her to lose so much as maintain but grow.

Is she huge compared to others? She doesn’t look that huge on her own but she is much bigger than others her own age I can see when we are out. She is taller too... dad is 6ft 6 and her brother is also very tall.

My Dd is 3 and 2st 9lbs last time she was weighed. If she's tall as well I wouldn't worry too much.

Strawberrybelly · 19/10/2018 20:00

Sorry I meant to add Dd is 98cm.

Shutityoutart · 19/10/2018 20:03

Your dd weighs more than my 6 year old! But he is a skinny little thing. My 3 year old is 98cm and weighs 2st 9.

Yura · 19/10/2018 20:05

When mine was 102cm, he was 2.7 stone. The nhs has a body weight calculator that take height into account if you are not sure

Nicolasknickers · 19/10/2018 20:05

107cm - very tall.
2st 5lbs.

12 weeks away from turning 4 years of age.

Yura · 19/10/2018 20:06

My oldest is now almost 6,116 cm tall and weights just about 3 st

CatLadyToddlerMother · 19/10/2018 20:07

3 years 3 months
91cms tall
1st 9oz weight

She is on the smaller side of average though still wears 18-24m clothes and had ridiculously small feet

Fatted · 19/10/2018 20:08

She's quite tall though isn't she?! My 3YO DS is a little bit taller than your DD. He weighs less but then we do have issues with him not eating much at the moment.

I'd say just keep an eye on it for the time being. Keep her active, watch the treats etc. But let her regulate her own appetite.

Breadfoam · 19/10/2018 20:08

Dd is in size 10 shoes but I’m having to get her age 3-4 or 4-5 in clothes already.

Yura · 19/10/2018 20:09

Try here - I don’t have her exact date of birth, but she seems very heavy for her height

Coconut0il · 19/10/2018 20:09

DS2 is 100cm and weighs 3 stone.
He always tracked just above the 99th centile when I took him to be weighed.
He's just started school nursery and despite being the youngest, he's the tallest.

I don't worry about him, he eats well, gets plenty of exercise, it's just the way he is.
I've done nothing different with him than with DS1 who always tracked the 50th centile. He was just born bigger.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 19/10/2018 20:11

3 years 4 months (boy)
101 cm
39lbs / 17 kg / 2.7 stone
Tall, slim, overweight BMI but I believe BMI is a load of rubbish. Me and both my kids are ridiculously muscular 💁🏼‍♀️

Yura · 19/10/2018 20:14

@BendydickCuminsnatch according to the nhs calculator your son is far from overweight, he is just fine!

Shednik · 19/10/2018 20:14

102cm tall
1st 12lbs.
3 years 11 months.
Size 9 shoe
4-5 clothes.

My six year old weighs less than your three year old too.

If she eats a healthy diet and is active I would just keep an eye on it.

ThriftyMcThrifty · 19/10/2018 20:19

My three and a half year old weighs 2st, her best friend isn’t three until next month and she weighs nearly 4st. She’s also a head taller and her mum is much taller than me - they are both healthy happy little girls. Don’t worry about it, unless she’s eating daily McDonald’s and sweeties she’s likely just growing faster.

IamMoana · 19/10/2018 20:19

My DD is coming up for 4 and weighs 2 stone 7lb. Just just shy of a meter tall.

upsideup · 19/10/2018 20:24

Are you sure her portion sizes are correct? What mine eat looks tiny to me but it is really all they need.

livingthegoodlife · 19/10/2018 20:28

well ive just put my daughters details into the calculator and it would appear she is overweight. im surprised, and now also wondering if im one of those mothers that is in denial about her child's health....

age 3, nearly 4
about 107cm tall
20kg/3.14st

very tall! size 11 feet.

Rebecca36 · 19/10/2018 20:35

I realise I am way past all this but it would never have occurred to me to weigh a three year old nor compare him to any other chid of similar age. When did all that start?

Scottishlass11e · 19/10/2018 20:37

My son was 4 in June he was weighed in March, he was 4 stone then

wendz86 · 19/10/2018 20:40

My 3 year old is 101cm and 2 stone 7.

Coconut0il · 19/10/2018 20:42

I think it only happens if you feel your child is either bigger or smaller than average Rebecca. I never thought about it with DS1 because he was always 'average'.
I do think about it with DS2 because he's always been bigger but I've always been reassured by HV and GP that he's fine.

Zcarter · 19/10/2018 20:45

@CatLadyToddlerMother is might be worth speaking to your gp my 4month old is 15 lbs

Yura · 19/10/2018 20:46

@Rebecca36 it started because about 20% of all pre school kids are overweight, and are likely to stay overweight if parents don’t act. Portionsizes are much bigger than say 20 years ago, food more calory dense. Engrained habits are hard to break.
Exceecise has decreased dramatically, what is active today was very sedentary not long ago...
