Dd is three in a couple of months.
She is 103cm
Her weight is 3st and 2lbs
She doesn’t appear to eat anymore than her peers and she is active. I’ve tried to up her activity levels and have cut out biscuits etc although she has the occasional ice cream when out.
She was big born and has been big ever since. She seems to gain weight very easily and not lose it. I don’t want her to lose so much as maintain but grow.

Is she huge compared to others? She doesn’t look that huge on her own but she is much bigger than others her own age I can see when we are out. She is taller too... dad is 6ft 6 and her brother is also very tall.

Zcarter she’s under a Paediatrician for developmental issues and he’s aware of it, says he isn’t overly concerned as she’s smaller side of average but eats fine

Bobbybobbins · 19/10/2018 20:49

My 3 year old is 2 stone 5 pounds. He is as solid as a rock.
My 4 year old (almost 5) is 2 stone 7 pounds. He is more slight.

They have the same diet. Go figure!

ambereeree · 19/10/2018 20:50

DD 110cm weighs 19kg. Very active and eats a lot.

ambereeree · 19/10/2018 20:51

Should also add just turned 3. OP does your DD actually look chubby? Can you see her ribs?

Iamclearlyamug · 19/10/2018 20:52

my very dinky almost 7 year old weighs 3st 2lb and she's 1.20 high

Wenttoseainasieve · 19/10/2018 20:52

She's two stones exactly, don't know how tall but she has always been taller than average. My family are all tall and light.

glueandstick · 19/10/2018 20:53

My 2yr7m is 16kg and 99cm (or was a few months back but I think grown a bit since then) and is stocky but proportioned and you can see ribs/spine etc. My friends kid is 15cm shorter and 6kg lighter but doesn’t have anywhere near the strength or stamina. Guess it’s all swings and roundabouts.

Babybearsporij · 19/10/2018 20:56

My 3-nearly- 4- year-old is a dinky dot - only 96cm and weighs 14kg. You can't see her ribs though and she looks "solid." We're all short and solid in our family.

I think it depends on genetics. If your family are tall, like you say, then is she just following the family way? Have you done your child's BMI? What centile is she on?

Harleyisme · 19/10/2018 20:57

Mines 3years 11 months
Hes 103cm and 20kg hes classed as overweight. Hes a picker and doesnt eat much and never stops. He sees a gastroentrolgist and peadiatricion who arent worried about is weight but hes has only put 700g on in the last 10 months.

GinIsIn · 19/10/2018 20:58

My nearly 20mo is 98cm and just under 2 stone.

SheepyFun · 19/10/2018 20:59

DD reached that weight at 3.5 (not sure of her height then) and she was definitely overweight - she drank milk rather than water when she was thirsty, so I started watering it down. She needed age 5-6 clothes because of her width. She did lose weight (not my intention), and only reached that weight again at almost 5, when she was 112 cm tall (I know because she was weighed and measured in reception). She can still get the clothes I bought when she was 3.5 on comfortably now, though the dresses are indecently short - she's almost 6 now. I would at least check your DD's diet.

isthistoonosy · 19/10/2018 20:59

98cm, 2st 12lb - looks a little chubby on her belly, but her brother looked the same at this age.
Brother is 112, 3st 7lb and 5yrs old - very toned now.

Cheby · 19/10/2018 20:59

That does sound overweight, have you checked the NHS BMI calculator?

My 5.5 year old is 118cm and 3st 3lb.

GaryWilmotsTeeth · 19/10/2018 21:03

My DS is 2 years 2 months and weighs 2st 12lb.
Not sure of exact height (because I can’t pin him down to measure him!) but a good half a head taller than his peers.
Filling 3-4 clothes. But he doesnt look especially fat, can see his ribs, no rolls or folds anywhere. Just made of rocks, I think.

isthistoonosy · 19/10/2018 21:04

My older kid didn't get to the rib / spine seeing age until about 4.2 yrs - before that he still had the toddler belly. I guess that could be genetics though, both parents were slim but solid kids.

anitagreen · 19/10/2018 21:08

emma6776 · 19/10/2018 21:16

My 6 and a half year old is 3st 3lbs. She tall for her age but very slight - eats like a machine!

Cachailleacha · 19/10/2018 21:18

Mine was 2st at three, 2st 5 at four when he was a similar height to your daughter. He was 3st at six.

IWouldLikeToKnow · 19/10/2018 21:19

My 3yr 10mth old son is 99cm and 2stone 2 lbs
He's in size 8 shoes and just going into size 2-3 clothes

triwarrior · 19/10/2018 21:22

According to an online calculator I used, she's obese. Have you had her looked at by a doctor? It's so easy for us as parents to not see when there's a problem.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 19/10/2018 21:23

My DS is 108cm and weighs 17kg (about 2st 9lbs). He looks huge to me, but is about average among his same age friends.

Lolacherrycola78 · 19/10/2018 21:23

My DD is 96cm and 2s1lb, she is pretty diddy.
