All seems to indicate that it's now crunch time for the UK. In the style of another active thread, I'd like to ask you all what you'd go for if given a binary choice between No Deal at all with the EU or Remain.
No blame game or mud slinging, just simple polite answers please.

Can only hope that would work @BunsyGirl. Switzerland and France didn't have the troubles though and decades of fighting. Most people wouldn't want that to return

Namechangedforthisobviously · 05/10/2018 21:02

REMAIN x10000000!!

So so angry about it all. Bastards. Utter bastards.

LeftRightCentre · 05/10/2018 21:04

Leave always leave. Europe needs us more than we need them.

Haahaahaa! PMSL! For what, exactly? That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

LeftRightCentre · 05/10/2018 21:06

As for the Irish border, as someone who has regularly travelled across the Swiss/French border I get really angry that people are making such an issue about it.

Please, stop drinking the Kool-Aid.

Lottapianos · 05/10/2018 21:10

'Leave always leave. Europe needs us more than we need them. '

Sweet lord. People who still coming out with shite like this must be having a laugh surely. Surely???

onegiftedgal · 05/10/2018 21:13

No deal and get the hell out.
And the ones who don't think Europe need us as much as we need them, clearly don't live in Kent which has to put up with hundreds of thousands of freight vehicles coming through day in day out - SELLING US THEIR GOODS.

LeftRightCentre · 05/10/2018 21:14

Have you heard of the Auld Alliance between Scotland and France? The Scottish Enlightenment?

Of course not, why would they? Scotland is just an adjunct, after all. They mean FA. Test out the poll tax on them, why not? They don't count. The last indyref failed, and the Tories gained, but 62% of them voted to remain, although it counts for nothing. Do you really think, if it all goes to the wall, that those in Scotland will say no again? After say, 2 or 3 years of hard times? Really? Because if I were there, I would vote yes after that. I mean, what's there to lose when you've already lost it? It's the same stupid ignorance with regards to NI. A Brexit vote still carries there, too, and stuff them, really, they must suck it up. How long do you think they'll do that, when there is nothing in it for them?

Mistigri · 05/10/2018 21:14

Are people honestly that ignorant of very, very recent history? * Seriously?*

Of course they are - if they weren't, we wouldn't be here now.

falcon5 · 05/10/2018 21:15

Remain. I voted leave btw.

Benjaminbuttonschild · 05/10/2018 21:17

Yes, How dare those European twats trade with the U.K.??? sarcasm

Aye, it's probably because we don't produce enough of our own due to lack of infrastructure. Or we can't produce things cheaply enough to compete. Or both.

SillySallySingsSongs · 05/10/2018 21:22

Who are exactky?

My god - That is Disgusting.

No deal NOW - don’t they know we had an empire and won the war!

GladAllOver · 05/10/2018 21:29

We didn't win the war. Before the US joined it we would probably have lost it.

LeftRightCentre · 05/10/2018 21:30

I remember going to bed early on the night of the vote, thinking, surely no one is so stupid to commit financial, political and economic suicide. Then waking up and turning on my phone to be stunned. Still am. WTAF? How can anyone be so bloody stupid?

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 21:31

{And the ones who don't think Europe need us as much as we need them, clearly don't live in Kent which has to put up with hundreds of thousands of freight vehicles coming through day in day out - SELLING US THEIR GOODS}
When the UK crashes out with no deal and all those lorries stop, roughly 2 days later the supermarkets will be empty of food, if it is even as late as that.
What is being picked in the UK at the end of March that you can eat?

LeftRightCentre · 05/10/2018 21:32

We didn't win the war. Before the US joined it we would probably have lost it.

I hate to admit it, but having studied history, well, that's true.

MrsRosyPalm · 05/10/2018 21:32

Remain. Rinse. Repeat

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 21:33

{ How can anyone be so bloody stupid}
Worse, there are 17.4 Million of them, mostly crowing about having won something.

Helmetbymidnight · 05/10/2018 21:34

Sorry I was taking the piss- but seeing as that’s how so many brexiteers think it’s not really very funny.

ShannonRockallMalin · 05/10/2018 21:35

Remain

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 21:36

{We didn't win the war. Before the US joined it we would probably have lost it.}
It wasn't really 'Britain's' war anyway. There were a few more involved, like most of Europe and a fair chunk of the commonwealth and then America.

violeticecream · 05/10/2018 21:37

Remain.

It makes me so angry that this has happened. It should never have gone to a public vote. It was madness.

1tisILeClerc · 05/10/2018 21:38

Part of the reasoning for a 'united Europe, as suggested by Churchill, was to prevent another major European war. That has been a success.

babysleeper · 05/10/2018 21:41

REMAIN. Obviously.

sarcasticllama · 05/10/2018 21:47

If we go running back to the EU they'll have us over a barrel

I don't even know whether they would allow us to change our minds now anyway. If they did, no doubt the terms would be stringent and even more in their favour than they are now.

Can't see a way out of this mess at all really.
