All seems to indicate that it's now crunch time for the UK. In the style of another active thread, I'd like to ask you all what you'd go for if given a binary choice between No Deal at all with the EU or Remain.
No blame game or mud slinging, just simple polite answers please.

'And I am yet to hear a coherent argument by a 'leaver' that isn't utter shite.'

Same here. I can't believe anyone is still
supporting Leave with a straight face especially after 2 years of the world's biggest shitshow

YeTalkShiteHen · 05/10/2018 09:30

I had a PM on here from a leaver, who did coherently explain their reasons for voting the way they did. I didn’t agree with any of them, BUT they were well thought out reasons without the usual name calling and xenophobia.

So I’ve heard one. The rest seem to be patronising, angry and determined to insult remain voters. I’d be happy for anyone to change my mind on that.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/10/2018 09:57

Fuck yeah remain.

Quietrebel · 05/10/2018 10:01

Thanks for all the replies. I know this is MN but I wasn't sure what to expect and I wonder if this overwhelming support for remain here reflects a wider change of heart...

No deal.

Mumsnet is a very poor indicator for this. It’s highly skewed towards the wealthy who reap all the benefits of the EU but don’t suffer from it’s drawbacks.

Quietrebel · 05/10/2018 10:02

And thanks for keeping this thread very civil 😀

OP posts:
badtime · 05/10/2018 10:02

Remain.

Geraldine170 · 05/10/2018 10:04

And remainers will be happy to post it their intentions because they won’t get the abuse leavers do.

I also think there needs to be more accountability for political campaigns with false or misleading promises or misrepresentation.

Remain are just as guilty of this as leave.

YeTalkShiteHen · 05/10/2018 10:05

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 05/10/2018 10:07

Remain.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 05/10/2018 10:08

All in, Euro, Schengen, everything.

Geraldine170 · 05/10/2018 10:12

Bullshit. Absolute bullshit.

Er, thanks for illustrating my point so effectively.

Quietrebel · 05/10/2018 10:14

ihaventgottime
Wow, that's an impressive level of in 😀.
To clarify, my meaning of All In In my OP is basically the status quo as of today (full member of the EU but keeping the £ and staying out of Schengen).

OP posts:
YeTalkShiteHen · 05/10/2018 10:16

Geraldine170 how so? You imply remain voters are all abusive, selfish and rich and then get offended when I tell you it’s bullshit?

The abuse I’ve had from leave voters, and many others have had, is considerable and the fact you can’t see that is staggering.

Bullshit isn’t an insult, it’s not name calling, it’s a statement of fact.

What you said was bullshit. It was an assumption based on your own prejudices and presumptions.

I fit in to none of the categories that you’ve painted remain voters as.

And I’m yet to hear a leave voter (bar the one example I gave) give a reason why, beyond getting immigrants out, not giving a shit about NI and wanting sovereignty (without actually being able to explain what that is).

UnnecessaryFennel · 05/10/2018 10:16

Remain. Anything else is insanity, an act of monumental national self-harm.

Those who say 'no deal', do you have the faintest idea what that actually means for this country?

People's Vote March, London Hyde Park, October 20th

SillySallySingsSongs · 05/10/2018 10:21

The abuse I’ve had from leave voters, and many others have had, is considerable and the fact you can’t see that is staggering.

You also can't deny that there has been considerable abuse the other way too. Let's not pretend remain voters have always been sweetness and light.

I did used to post (under a different name) in the Brexit threads bit got fed up of all the stereotyping, name calling and mud slinging by both 'side's so have now hid it.

I dip in now and again but very rarely and I very much doubt I'm the only one. In fact I know I'm not.

YeTalkShiteHen · 05/10/2018 10:22

You also can't deny that there has been considerable abuse the other way too

Point out where I have please?

You can’t, because I didn’t.

SillySallySingsSongs · 05/10/2018 10:27

Point out where I have please?

No you havent but your post implies it's just one sided. It's not by any stretch of the imagination.

YeTalkShiteHen · 05/10/2018 10:28

No you havent but your post implies it's just one sided. It's not by any stretch of the imagination

My post was actually in response to someone claiming it was, to level it out.

But don’t let that stop you eh?

GreenMeerkat · 05/10/2018 10:31

Remain.

ScarletAnemone · 05/10/2018 10:42

Remain

derxa · 05/10/2018 10:43

Thanks for all the replies. I know this is MN but I wasn't sure what to expect and I wonder if this overwhelming support for remain here reflects a wider change of heart... I doubt it. I would vote Remain again because it's the sensible thing to do but the tone of debate on here and in the media and the goady messages from Macron et al have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 05/10/2018 10:46

Oh ok Quietrebel I got the wrong end of the stick! I thought you meant that if staying in meant we lost all our opt-outs, what would we do.

But to be honest, I don't mind losing our opt-outs. I don't get what makes us so special anyway, I don't have a sentimental attachment to sterling, I think if we're in we should be treated the same as other member states, it'll make the EU stronger and hopefully better able to come up with solutions for things like the migrant crisis.

In the long long term, I'd like to see the erasure of all country boundaries across the globe. But then I'm a bit odd like that!

Cattenberg · 05/10/2018 10:49

I'm baffled by the idea that most Remainers are rich. I'm certainly not. On the other hand, JRM, Boris and Farage certainly are. I've already lost one job due to Brexit. I'm now in the public sector, so if the economy tanks, I could well lose my current position.

Never mind. I'll be fine as long as one of my companies can make a good export deal with a Chinese manufacturer, or if I move my investment funds to Ireland.

jennytoils · 05/10/2018 10:50

Defo all out. Can't wait to leave the EU and it's corruption and undemocratic values way behind us.
