To make my child pay for dog care?

We have DD aged 23 living with us as well as a DS aged 14 and 2 family dogs. When my daughter moves out the dogs will stay with us, they aren’t her dogs specifically.

When we go away DD looks after the dogs for us, although I do have to pay for dog day care as she’s at work full time and can’t come back during the day. If we go away all together as a family AIBU to ask her to contribute to the dog boarding cost?

Yes yabu

NicePieceOfPlaid · 03/10/2018 18:06

Of course you are BU. They aren't her dogs.

MardyArabella · 03/10/2018 18:06

Completely unreasonable if they aren’t her dogs.

Pusheenicorn · 03/10/2018 18:06

Omg. Yes YABU!!!!!!!

PotteringAlong · 03/10/2018 18:07

Yes. They’re not her dogs.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 03/10/2018 18:07

They aren’t her dogs. Why on earth should she pay for them?!

TeaByTheSeaside · 03/10/2018 18:07

Yes of course YABU! They're your dogs!!

NorthEndGal · 03/10/2018 18:07

Why on earth would she pay?

WalkingTed · 03/10/2018 18:08

tbh I just add the cost of dog bording onto the overall holiday cost. its eye watering high where we are though £850.00 last time. weep. though kennels would have been cheaper thats not an option for me.

trojanpony · 03/10/2018 18:08

YABU they are your dogs Confused

Giraffey1 · 03/10/2018 18:08

Errrm, yabu. Not her dogs. She won’t take them with her when she moves out. Surprised you’d even think of asking, tbh.

DC18 · 03/10/2018 18:08

Yes you ABU. You said they weren't her dogs and were family dogs!

trojanpony · 03/10/2018 18:09

So...
In 23 years you never went on a family holiday?

lastqueenofscotland · 03/10/2018 18:09

YABU Jesus

HolyandWild · 03/10/2018 18:09

Yabu you said yourself that they aren't her dogs specifically. She's doing you a favour looking after them when you are away without her.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 03/10/2018 18:09

Agree that they are your dogs, so you pay.

mimibunz · 03/10/2018 18:10

Lol how did you come up with such an idea?

BigDamnHero · 03/10/2018 18:12

Of course YABU! They're not her dogs. Just because she's looked after them before, doesn't mean she has a responsibility to pay when she can't!

roundtable · 03/10/2018 18:12

Reverse?

VimFuego101 · 03/10/2018 18:14

Did she buy the dogs? I can't see why you think this would be a reasonable ask.

EnglishRose13 · 03/10/2018 18:15

Jesus.

eggncress · 03/10/2018 18:16

your dogs, you pay.

AwdBovril · 03/10/2018 18:17

Reverse. Has to be!

feathermucker · 03/10/2018 18:21

If this isn't a reverse, then you're being utterly ridiculous.

hallodarknessmyoldfriend · 03/10/2018 18:23

wow YABU
