To make my child pay for dog care?

We have DD aged 23 living with us as well as a DS aged 14 and 2 family dogs. When my daughter moves out the dogs will stay with us, they aren’t her dogs specifically.

When we go away DD looks after the dogs for us, although I do have to pay for dog day care as she’s at work full time and can’t come back during the day. If we go away all together as a family AIBU to ask her to contribute to the dog boarding cost?

My DH didn’t want a dog, so I don’t even ask him to contribute to boarding fees. You can ASK her but no doubt she will laugh at your cheek!!

Why would you think you were right

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 04/10/2018 17:31

I don't even understand why you'd think this would be ok?

Ontheboardwalk · 04/10/2018 21:24

What did your daughter say when you asked her? Well what did she say after she’d picked herself off the floor after laughing too hard

MemoryOfSleep · 04/10/2018 21:31

Yabvvvu. Why on earth would she pay for your dogs?

Tahani · 04/10/2018 21:45

If you looked after a friends dog for them when they went on holiday, and you went on holiday with them would you expect to pay for their dog care?

no?

Oldbiddy123 · 04/10/2018 21:54

Yes, they are your dogs you pay for them!!

londonrach · 04/10/2018 22:05

Who ever owes the dogs pays for bordering, anything else is strange. Yabu

Curious? It is blatantly obvious!

AlexaShutUp · 04/10/2018 23:00

There must be a massive drip-feed coming, surely.

@AlexaShutUp

I agree, waiting on a massive drip feed - otherwise this is batshit crazy

Your friends are right; you were wrong to ask.
