To feel ridiculously proud of myself?

I suffer with depression and have really let my house get on top of me, some rooms were bordering on hoarder territory. This week I have disposed of 30 black bags of rubbish (from one room Blush) and now have one completely clean, free from crap room. It’s spurring me on massively to do the rest and I finally feel like something has shifted in me and I can do this, I can have a clean, properly organised house. I know it’s a small thing in the grand scheme but it’s making me so happy and proud I had to have a little crow, hope you don’t mind Smile

YANBU at all. We've justoced house so we are still unpacking boxes. It makes me feel miserable.

Iamthestorm · 23/09/2018 13:00

That is a great achievement well done you!!!

Jammydodger1981 · 23/09/2018 13:00

Massive hugs and congratulations to you OP. Mine isn’t near anywhere near as bad but it is far, far too cluttered and needs sorting. If you don’t mind I’m going to use you as my inspiration this week. We can do it!

WutheringFrights · 23/09/2018 13:01

Well done!!!!!
It’s an amazing feeling just get rid of stuff isn’t it?
But remember to keep that room clear of crap!
Don’t move things from other rooms into it (it’s my worse tidying trait!).
What room is on your list?

StorminaBcup · 23/09/2018 13:01

That's fantastic OP, what a great achievement for you! Crow away, you deserve to feel proud of this Smile

Pollypanda · 23/09/2018 13:02

That’s brilliant! There’s a lot of truth to the expression “tidy house tidy mind”. Hope this upward curve continues for you 😊

Bigclearout · 23/09/2018 13:03

That's great. Well done OP. My username is aspirational and not descriptive. I am a borderline hoarder and surrounded by crap but if feel like getting up and doing something about it now.

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 23/09/2018 13:04

Congratulations! Keep going. Having a clean, beautiful, manageable space free from crap makes such a difference to your mood and stops you from feeling so overwhelmed.

Brightermornings · 23/09/2018 13:04

That is a massive achievement. And now your inspiring other people. Well done .

Anniegetyourgun · 23/09/2018 13:04

Not unreasonable at all, nor ridiculous either! Crow away :) Once it's organised it'll be easier to keep on top of, too.

I've been tidying up whilst DS has been away staying with his brothers at the other end of the country. Many things have gone to the dump and the remainder have been put away in sensible places. He'll probably think he's come back to the wrong house! (Shame about the garden, but one thing at a time eh?)

MereDintofPandiculation · 23/09/2018 13:06

Wow! Well done! I could certainly get 30 black bags of out some of my rooms, but I doubt if I could do it all in one week. Keep that room clean and nice, and go and sit in it with a coffee and a book now and again (I don't care if it's the bathroom!) to keep you motivated for the rest.

And remember, if you have a bad day, it's just that - one bad day - not the beginning of the end. If the overall trend is up, it doesn't matter how many dips there are.

Protectingmyusername · 23/09/2018 13:11
