...to ask if anyone has a weird tiredness bug?

Posting for some traffic!

Curious really... we all have a strange tiredness in the household. Nothing else wrong, everyone just strangely exhausted. Fall asleep in your dinner type of exhausted. Normal life being lived etc, yes children are back to school but they were very active in the holidays. I'm thinking it's a bug going about - anyone else suffering?

Have you a carbon dioxide monitor? Might be worth checking it.

Otherwise back to school is always tough.

9amtrain · 17/09/2018 21:17

Just exhaustion, all of you, no other symptoms of an illness? Weird.

Unlikely to be this of course but do you have carbon monoxide detectors in your house?

TheFifthKey · 17/09/2018 21:18

Huh, this is me today. Had a decent night’s sleep, mildly active day yesterday (family walk along the coast, but with small D.C., so nothing strenuous) and felt so wretched I left work early and went home for a nap before I picked DC up from after school club. Then scraped my way through tea and baths etc. Now tucked up ready for bed and hoping I feel a bit better tomorrow.

Getoffthetableplease · 17/09/2018 21:19

We're exactly like this atm! I put it down to changing sleep patterns and having to get up whilst it's still dark Hmm, but it could be a bug.

Paperdolly · 17/09/2018 21:20

Get the house ventilated and check for carbon dioxide.

edwinbear · 17/09/2018 21:20

I’ve had a tiredness bug ever since 9yr old DS was born.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 17/09/2018 21:21

If it's only happening in side the house and to everyone. Its very likely to be something in the house that's causing it. Please get it checked for Caron dioxide

Whisky2014 · 17/09/2018 21:23

I had this for about 2 weeks a few weeks back. My mum then had similar last week.
I honestly couldnt do anything. Id have a shower and be so exhausted had to lay on bed for ages or even fall asleep! Feel alot better now though i was seriously considering asking dr to check my thyroid

mrwalkensir · 17/09/2018 21:24

Pretty much everybody at work was like this last week...

Whatififall · 17/09/2018 21:26

DD has this. I had to pick her up from school earlier as she was ill. She’s had a 3 hour nap and was still exhausted. She also has a high temperature so thinking it’s something viral after being back at school.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 21:27

Thanks for all of the responses, just checked the carbon detector and all looks well but we did have boiler repaired last week so now slightly paranoid...

It is happening outside though too. But I am going to check and get a new detector.

@edwinbear same here to be honest!

@whisky14 that sounds the same.

@mrwalkensir that's interesting. Very odd to not have anything else going on but the exhaustion but it does sound like something is out there.

Have your B12 tested, ask your dr for a blood test x

SerenDippitty · 17/09/2018 21:30

I’ve been feeling constantly tired recently but also having joint pain, knees and ankles mostly so don’t think it is the bug. Just had some bloods taken today.

SerenDippitty · 17/09/2018 21:31

Have had the joint pains for several weeks btw.

Ploppymoodypants · 17/09/2018 21:33

Yes I had it a few weeks ago (put it down to over doing it and being pregnant), but the. DD was moaning of being tired and a headache, then DSis and DM (who live apart from me and each other) and then DM’s best friend. So yep must be a weird bug. Only symptom for all of us was being really tired for about 4 days and a low level headache.

Keeptrudging · 17/09/2018 21:37

Yes, for the past week (and the adults/pupils I work with). I'm actually reassured reading this, as I reckon it must be some weird stealth bug going around. It's not making me ill enough to not go to work, but I'm totally shattered.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 21:40

@seren I hope you get that sorted.

Husband has now gone into blind panic about carbon monoxide detectors being out of date so we will be replacing them tomorrow.

I am hoping it's as per ploppymoodypants post and buggers off in a couple of days then! I do have a very low headache but just assumed that was the tiredness. Husband's definition of his feeling was a simple 'crap'

In all my years of bugs this seems to be an unusual one!

CloudCaptain · 17/09/2018 21:41

Yep. We've all had/ have it. Just a general feeling of fatigue. Started of with temperature fluctuations and then just tiredness and out of sorts.
I started giving everyone multivitamins and lots of fruit/veg to perk us up.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 21:43

@keeptrudging you've hit the nail on the head. I feel weird using the word ill as it's not like a normal illness, so semi worked today but just didn't have anything in the tank (sit down job). I feel a bit stupid taking tomorrow off if I feel like this but at the same time I want to and feel like I need to..?!

OP posts:
SkunkButtRug · 17/09/2018 21:48

I have this right now. It kind of reminds me of when I was in the first trimester and I nodded off all the time with no energy.
I also have feverishness and total brain fog - sort of like flu. My two dcs have snotty noses/sore throats too.

I'm convinced it's a bug as the symptoms came on quite quick since we returned to school.

Have started taking Vit C and Zinc and have dug out the Lemsips just in case.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 21:50

Thanks @skunk, and you. I always forget about zinc and vit c, I'll pick some up tomorrow.

OP posts:
EskSmith · 17/09/2018 21:51

Yes, came with a slight sore throat and headache in our house.

emwithme · 17/09/2018 21:51

Yup. DH had that hideous cough/cold that was going round a couple of weeks ago, and he hasn't quite got over it and I'm 29 weeks pregnant and just feel like death warmed up but nothing specific I can put my finger on.

(Carbon Monoxide detector active and showing clear)

mineofuselessinformation · 17/09/2018 21:54

Is your house too warm?
I find that makes me sleepy, not that I need much excuse these days! Smile
