...to ask if anyone has a weird tiredness bug?

Posting for some traffic!

Curious really... we all have a strange tiredness in the household. Nothing else wrong, everyone just strangely exhausted. Fall asleep in your dinner type of exhausted. Normal life being lived etc, yes children are back to school but they were very active in the holidays. I'm thinking it's a bug going about - anyone else suffering?

My boss and I have been having tiredness and kind of vacant periods where it feels like you are trying to think through cotton wool. Occasionally mild nausea. It comes in waves and is worse in the afternoons. No definite symptoms as such but just really not feeling right.

Justabouthadituptohere · 17/09/2018 21:55

Yes 3 of us here. I’m exhausted but we have been a bit sneezy and snotty too!

Quartz2208 · 17/09/2018 21:56

Are you carbon monoxide detectors working and did it start once the boiler was looked at

Because your symptoms and the fact its everyone do match carbon monoxide poisoning

certainly ventilate your house

treegone · 17/09/2018 21:58

Ive been feeling off lately. No energy, well the energy must be there as I keep doing all the things but I feel like it's not there. Very odd for me. I would say my normal state is primed ready for a run or something - quite annoying! 😂 but at the moment I would rather sit on the sofa and sleep. Didn't think about a bug as this isn't the way I normally feel ill. Everyone else is ok in the house so it's not CO.
Had aching arms and ankles for months too for which I'm having a blood test tomorrow. Not sure what it'll find.
I normally feel quite buzzy and excited going into autumn but it's been ruined this year!!

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 17/09/2018 21:59

I felt like that all of last week and then this morning I woke up with a headache, sore throat and (TMI sorry) pus all over my tonsils.

I think I must have been fighting something off for a while but it’s finally kicked in Sad

ElenOfTheWays · 17/09/2018 21:59

I seem to have this but with added aches. I feel like I just climbed a mountain and yet no amount of rest helps the recovery.

Was just beginning to consider a virus as the cause. Looks quite likely now.
Anyone else aching too?
Maybe I'm just old. Smile

SausageOnAFork · 17/09/2018 21:59

It could just be that we are heading for autumn. We start to slow down.

But I agree with others to get your carbon monoxide detectors checked or changed.

^^Yep, this is it! It's bloody irritating because you don't feel ill enough to be off work.

BusySittingDown · 17/09/2018 22:00

I haven’t had so much as a sniffle this year but a few months ago I was finding it really hard to concentrate at work. My head felt all fuzzy and heavy and I felt like I needed to go to bed.

As soon as I’d picked the kids up from school I went straight to bed and slept through till the next morning, like I was ill but there was nothing else wrong with me Confused.

stayhomeclub · 17/09/2018 22:01

I had this last year, started feeling slightly off but just then a feeling of being totally and completely drained. It did eventually get better so I think it’s was a bug, my boss at the time sent me to the doctors as I looked so ill.

Tonkerbea · 17/09/2018 22:01

Both DC have had this, no pain, but temperatures and exhaustion. Now I'm feeling utterly drained 😩

SkunkButtRug · 17/09/2018 22:01

How long did it last stay ?

life2018 · 17/09/2018 22:05

This is so strange. I have it too. And no work or school runs at the moment for it to hit me.

mychildrenarebarmy · 17/09/2018 22:05

Yes, last week for 3 days. Insanely tired, feeling ‘off’ and slightly nauseous. I slept 9 hours straight three nights in a row instead of my usual 7 1/2.

BeeBum · 17/09/2018 22:07

Omg yes!

DS started with it first, been going round nursery, then I caught it, followed by my Nan who visited, then my DH and Dad got it and now seems like everyone in family and friends have had it.

FabulousTomatoes · 17/09/2018 22:07

I’ve had it. It felt as if I was coming down with something for a couple of weeks, which never really came to anything. I had this bone tiredness like when I was pregnant; from about 3pm I couldn’t keep my eyes open! It seems to have gone now (touch wood).

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 22:08

All windows open now and he's gone off to get new detectors, just in case. The smallest dc slept for ages this morning which is massively unusual. Turns out our detector is ancient so this thread has been very useful, even if it is a bug.

@busy that sounds like my day. Except no chance of laying down unfortunately.

I'm reassured lots of others have been the same, but also hope you all feel better soon.

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 17/09/2018 22:09

I've felt similar for a few weeks now. I'm constantly tired, but it's a physical tiredness and everything is aching, rather than a sleepy tiredness. I suffer badly from insomnia and it's been a bit grim lately, plus my workload has just increased a lot (as it does each autumn) so put it down to that, but it feels different somehow. Also had a sore throat, sinus pain, ear ache and swollen glands! Think there's definitely something going around. And got to drive 150 miles for work tomorrow then 150 miles back after a 10hoir day.....just don't feel the same enthusiasm for it all that I normally have but as I'm self employed I need to work.

exexpat · 17/09/2018 22:09

The same not-quite-a-cold, just totally knackered thing is going round here: I was really tired all last week, then felt better; DP has had it the last few days but is now improved, a colleague of his has had the same - definitely seems to be something transmitted rather than carbon monoxide or whatever.

Squidgee · 17/09/2018 22:12

im the same, tired, no energy, very little motivation either, I just want to sleep!

I put it down to new routine and the extra hour of driving my school run includes now.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 22:13

@mineof it has been warm here today. Nothing unusual though. I know what you mean though, if I wake up in the morning and it's too warm I feel horrible!

wowfudge · 17/09/2018 22:14

Me too - with a low level headache as well.

SerenDippitty · 17/09/2018 22:15

Thank you Scientistic.

MillieMoodle · 17/09/2018 22:15

Yes same here - started off with what I thought was going to be a cold - had one day of streaming nose/eyes just over a week ago. I have felt utterly knackered since then, a bit nauseous and dizzy, grumpy/weepy and headachey, my legs and arms feel heavy and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open in the afternoon. Everything feels like such a massive effort. I even wondered if I might be pregnant but the arrival of AF this morning means not. I think it's a bug, as both DC seem to have come down with a similar thing today.

Hope you're feeling better soon OP. Also hope no carbon monoxide issues - keep windows open upstairs at least this evening just in case.

Scientistic · 17/09/2018 22:16

@leighhalfpenny have you tried any audio stuff for insomnia? There is a guy that does apps, Richard Johnson I think, which are good. Hope the trip isn't too bad.

The irony is I am exhausted and have been in bed ages but the carbon paranoia has woken me up a bit. He should be back soon. But as someone said it definitely sounds like a bug now. Just don't want to drift off without checking a new monitor! The boiler is right next to the bed in a cupboard :/
