New thread and still wondering why there has been no apology or acknowledgement of the incident in Loose Women last week.

@Lazypuppy Then you're a bit silly.

While she was off-screen, and KW was talking about her abuse, Coleen whispered (to her sister, presumably): "We got this every day as well" and then appeared to turn to Janet Street-Porter's direction, before adding: "She's going to cry in a minute."

She sat there looking smug at how KW was falling apart and then started calling her vile.

That's then disregarding how her own Twitter team then responded, and the fact that in the past she's spouted homophobic stuff too.

schoolday · 04/09/2018 13:37

Jitters22 yes, it is damage limitation, thing is, these days, their names will forever be linked with their victims. Whenever Ryan whatever his name (don’t watch, sorry) is mentioned, the tabloids will do that “he thought his career was ended when Roxanne accused him...” thing at the end. Same with Kim and Coleen, “there was a campaign to get her off the tv when she was accused of bullying Kim Woodbury...”. It will always be mentioned. For years.

lazypuppy I don’t think Coleen was liked in the first place, so she had to be whiter than white and she isn’t. I think she was a bully though, lots of people do obviously.

She sat there looking smug at how KW was falling apart and then started calling her vile. the smugness wasn't nice, but sorry i think KW is vile. She is so antagonistic to everyone, wants to argue with anyone who doesn't agree with her.

SheSparkles · 04/09/2018 13:44

Never mind fake news, this seems
To be the week of the fake apology! I don’t watch B.B. or CBB but I had the misfortune to see Roxanne’s “apology” yesterday and all I can say is, never having seen her on whatever show she was on, she’s a rubbish actress!
I’ve held back from commenting on the LW debacle so far, I did see it as it happened but had no idea what it was about. CN is as bad as the Roxanne character, in that her “apology” was about as genuine as Katie Price’s tits!

ShatnersWig · 04/09/2018 13:48

You don't call mocking someone talking about their abusive background and then enjoying them crying bullying?

TwistedStitch · 04/09/2018 13:52

I've just watched the footage. It was absolutely bullying, didn't really expect much different from Colleen and her sister but JSP should have known better and should have intervened. She is clearly a woman with issues and was set up massively.

BiggerBoat1 · 04/09/2018 13:53

CN didn't seem at all sorry, she was trying to portray herself as the victim. Lets hope she does quit the business - do everyone a favour.

schoolday · 04/09/2018 13:54

“I didn’t say anything”
“I said about two things”
“I know what she’s like”

That’s not an apology.

And Holly’s aborted “Nobody...” before she changed her mind. Was it “Nobody wants to see you cry” (unlike the LW gang about Kim) or “Nobody thinks you’ve done anything wrong” (and then she thought better of saying it) or something else?

Lazypuppy · 04/09/2018 13:55

@ShatnersWig

In my opinion she wasn't mocking KW, just stating that she had heard it before

zippey · 04/09/2018 13:56

I don’t mind Coleen but I absolutely despise Kim. Coleen was just standing up for hereself against a bully, and the panellists were supporting her, that’s not bullying.

I saw some clips of that awful Kim from when she was in CBB.

There was only one bully in that room and it was t Colleen. I think she set a good example to others on how not to accept being called names and. I’ll Yong by a vile individual.

Great telly though.

derxa · 04/09/2018 13:57

CN is as bad as the Roxanne character, in that her “apology” was about as genuine as Katie Price’s tits!* Grin The thing is she didn't know what she'd done wrong so did not know how to apologise. She needed someone sensible to sit her down and explain it. Then she should have gone on LW the next day and stated clearly and factually what she did wrong. Not attack KW further as being an 'actress'. I hate the Michelle Obama saying always being trotted out. (When they go low we go high) but it's applicable here.

superfly2018 · 04/09/2018 13:57

Why was she dabbing her eyes with 100 tissues, yet not one tear?!

Teenageromance · 04/09/2018 13:59

What a dreadful This Morning interview from Coleen. No acknowledgement of what she did - she should resign but she knows she would have no other work

ShatnersWig · 04/09/2018 14:00

I think she set a good example to others on how not to accept being called names

How did she do that?

ShatnersWig · 04/09/2018 14:05

@Lazypuppy You are entitled to that opinion of course but it doesn't seem to be widely shared. Twitter has been far, far more damning of CN than KW (even a lot of people who hate KW said what happened to her on LW was disgraceful). The volume of Ofcom complaints about CN and LW was over 7,000 3 days ago, which is an astonishing number (although overtaken since by the Celebrity Big Brother complaints now).

The petition calling for CN to be sacked is currently at 23,581 names. The petition calling for KW not to be allowed on TV again and showing support for the LW panel currently stands at 17 names.

redshoeblueshoe · 04/09/2018 14:29

23,581 v 17

I think that makes it clear whose side the public are on

ShatnersWig · 04/09/2018 14:34

There's a second "Back Coleen, Ditch Kim!" petition (as obviously the first one wasn't gaining sufficient support they needed a second one). That's up to 8 signatures. Wow.

OneDayIWish · 04/09/2018 14:36

Coleen will be on the local itv news at 6pm tonight.

Oliversmumsarmy · 04/09/2018 14:42

You do know that like all these reality tv shows it is heavily edited and if the producers and directors want to paint a picture of someone to look a certain way then they will edit and put together different clips to make someone look how they want them to look.

It is not reality.

Dismissing someone’s horrific childhood on live tv can only be seen one way.

redshoeblueshoe · 04/09/2018 14:43

Thanks oneday I'll make sure I miss that

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/09/2018 14:56

It's a PR apology. You use the word apologise - you may even occasionally use the word sorry - but you never say it TO the person concerned. You say it to the viewers who might have been offended.

It also throws the blame onto the person/s who are offended - it's not

"I'm sorry I was offensive"

it's

"I'm sorry you were (felt) offended" (unspoken - "you pathetic little snowflake taken offence at nowt")

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/09/2018 15:06

i don't call that bullying, presumably she heard about it from KW during BB all the time.

Don't you puppy?

CN might have heard it all before, but many viewers hadn't. This is (loosely speaking) a talk show - people are invited on to talk - about themselves and their opinions.

CN was a host - it is her job to make people comfortable. not sneer at them.

It wasn't just what CN and LN said (aided and abetted by LR and JSP) - it was the dismissive, sneering, mocking, snide way that they said it.

They were vile. All of the panel were sniggering and sneering. And the audience was encouraged to catcall and laugh. It was shameful.

Absolutely shameful.

This is it in a nutshell.

Belina · 04/09/2018 15:20

crying victim tears now old colleen
only because of the backlash she found it funny when kim was crying

Teenageromance · 04/09/2018 15:25

Surely Ofcom and ITV will have to take some action. The decent thing for Coleen to do would be to resign but she won’t because it’s her only ‘high profile’ job. She said on this morning that Kim needed help and that it was supposed to be them making up but she knew Janet would be dressed as a judge and it would be adverserial. Shame on her for lying through her tears.
