Has anyone else just watched Loose Women/Kim Woodburn’s outburst?

Linda Robson genuinely didn't seem part of it to me. She seemed genuinely concerned, and did try to comfort her (although appreciate that if you're feeling ganged up on, you're going to go into "don't touch me!" mode and bat them away. I think Linda (Robson) seemed genuine there.
The other Linda though was absolutely horrible though. "What's your talent?"
Just nasty.

honeyrider · 31/08/2018 00:28

Coleen and Linda Nolan are nasty bullies.

sweethope · 31/08/2018 00:29

I watched it all, Linda Robson clearly taunted her at the beginning saying "why are you so angry with everyone" or words to that effect. You could tell she enjoyed baiting her. But i do think she felt a bit of concern when she saw the result.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 31/08/2018 00:33

The Nolans were a terrible group. Aren't they always not talking to each other. CN comes across rather smug, I remember when she started presenting on This Morning and she was truly dreadful, I don't know how she's still working tbh. As for the buying a prostitute for her son for his 16th, yuck.

Mymycherrypie · 31/08/2018 00:36

I feel like Linda’s comforting hand was really just a gut reaction to someone crying. It didn’t stop her later on saying “disgusting thing to say” and shaking her head disapprovingly when Kim walks off removes herself from the situation.

sadiekate · 31/08/2018 00:40

I've been following this thread from yesterday and am in agreement with the overwhelming majority of you. Kim was set up to be humiliated and ganged up on.
I do want to say though that although this thread is about a horrible topic, I find the fact that so many women are appalled by what went on heartening. We are often told that women are "bitchy" but this thread shows that most of us are not like that and will speak up about unkind behaviour. Sometimes Mumsnet (to which I am relatively new still) can seem like a bit of a harsh place but this is one of the threads that reminds me that as @sleepyshores pointed out upthread, most people are decent and compassionate. Coleen Nolan isn't the norm - you guys are.

rainbowsandsmiles · 31/08/2018 00:41

It's trash TV, isn't it? It does make you wonder, is it staged. Would not surprise me in the slightest.
I mean, why else would the Twitter accounts be tweeting it as some kind of entertainment and "Uh Oh! Coleen V Kim Woodburn!" tweets?
It's not fucking funny, whether it's staged between them or not, since when is it acceptable to have bullying as entertainment?
Be nice. Be kind. Can't take any mental health segment they do in the future seriously now.

lola212121 · 31/08/2018 00:42

And she is not sacked... everyone please use your willpower and stop your loose woman addiction .. make those ratings go down .

Aw shucks Blush Grin I agree, MN on the whole is nice, albeit straight talking, there's always a few handfuls of knobbers that spoil it for everyone though lol.
There's still lots of decent people about,I tend to look for them to keep my faith in humanity Smile

I very rarely watch it, the hooping and the hollering from the audience annoys me too much and there's too much giggly chattery for me.
Not my thing, watch it every now and again if it's on where I am but will be switching to Come Dine With Me repeats that are always on at the same time if I need something to idly watch from now on lol.

lola212121 · 31/08/2018 00:53

Omg ! I just watched old clips of her in big brother she most definitely is unwell and reminds me of old dementia patients I used to look after ,she is very paranoid . Hope she gets the help she needs

HelenaDove · 31/08/2018 01:13

YY rainbows Loose Women have some competition here..............

rainbowsandsmiles · 31/08/2018 01:16

Who is definitely unwell, and reminds you of old dementia patients? Kim?
Just because she's old doesn't mean she's automatically suffering from " dementia." She's always come across to me and on Loose Women too someone who will call out nastiness, and good on her for that.

explodingid
What happens if they get 5000 signatures?

That’s just something change.org put on the page. It would have been 500 or 1000 at first. When they get to 5000 it will change again.

I must say it’s a helluva response. It’s really hit home. I hope Kim gets some solace by the amount of people who have found her treatment shocking.

I have telly on purely for background noise.Wasn’t watching it as such, buzzing around in the kitchen making a biryani for tea and shoving washing in the machine. My ears just pricked up at a few key words on the show.I too had a spectacularly shit childhood and was horrifically bullied at school.I saw a lady who had had enough of all the bollocks and can see through folk.Yes,she’s been paid handsomely for her tv career and is honest about why she does it.Money and fear of poverty is a very real thing.Coleen Nolan’s antics remind me of someone who used to bully me persistently at school.Does the doe eyes ‘who me?’ every time they’re called out on it ...then the poor me act follows. She needs to fuck off from telly.Kim is spot on about CN.Fake all the way.Probably forgotten how to be herself.

PrickWhittington · 31/08/2018 02:22

Just read CN’s pathetic response on the mirror website. Angry. Saying she hadn’t heard Kim bring up her abusive childhood when making the muttered ‘we know/ she’ll start to cry now’ comments. The arrogance of the woman (and producers) thinking that people are going to believe that.

Also ‘anyone who knows me will say I’m not a bully’ - er, nope - it would actually appear to be the opposite, on here, Twitter and the papers comments sections people who do actually have the misfortune of knowing you are saying Thats exactly what you are. Plus of course, we all saw it for ourselves.

If she hasn’t the decency to even admit it let alone apologise she should either resign or be sacked. Revolting woman.

Rebecca36 · 31/08/2018 04:24

I just watched on Youtube, my interest was piqued by comments on here.

Never watched Big Brother or the cleaning programme. Saw Kim the year she was on IACGMOOH and she was great.

Don't know what to make of it all frankly. It was embarrassing in a way but daresay some found it entertaining.

Oliversmumsarmy · 31/08/2018 06:38

I suspect what actually happened in CBB is never going to be aired.

If what KW says is true and she was bullied in BB. I always get the impression BB have an agenda and maybe showing someone being bullied by certain "celebrities" would probably end the show. Maybe they have it in their contracts not to show someone in a bad light.
I am only projecting something like this might have occured. But the impression I got was during CBB CN might have bullied KW but others joined in too.

I have never watched CBB,BB or the jungle one bar 5 mins if I flick over and I try and work out who the "celebrities" are because most of the time I haven't a clue

Zippitydoodar · 31/08/2018 06:48

I should imaging KW isnt the easiest person to live with. She appears very volatile and aways up for an argument. I'm guessing when someone always brings their past up as an excuse for their present behaviour you would get a little fed up, a lot have had bad upbringings but don't go round being rude and angry to people all the time.

I'm a bit on the fence here I wasn't impressed with Lynda N treatment of KW asking "what is your talent" but I thought CN wasn't too bad. If any of us were attacked like that wouldn't we retaliate?

I didn't have a perfect childhood but I don't go round arguing with everyone. Maybe it's becoming KW new trademark.

Roussette · 31/08/2018 07:17

I don't like KW, I'm not a fan. However I can't stand this type of bullying/throw her in the bear pit and let's see what happens, all for ratings, reviving a flagging show type thing. It's inhumane. And my real hate is... they were all having a go at KW right from the start. And there were 4 of them! One of whom was sister to CN, who let's face it, doesn't go on LW regularly, so it was very contrived and designed to cause a scene.

Even LindaR (who ... sorry.. I think is a total wet lettuce). She sat there saying 'why are you so angry all the time' and then when KW dissolved in tears had an 'oooops' moment, we might have gone too far here.

I do take issue with this in the MIrror article.

Coleen, 53, said: “I didn’t want to do the reunion. It was the producers who said she wanted to make peace. I agreed because I was happy to draw a line under past differences

Either CN is lying or KW is. Everywhere it says that the producers asked KW to the show on the premise that CN wanted to make the peace.

Personally I think CN's career is now shot to pieces.

Oliversmumsarmy · 31/08/2018 07:26

I didn't have a perfect childhood but I don't go round arguing with everyone

There is a big difference between not having a less than perfect childhood and by all accounts the truly horrific childhood KW had.

I don't think KW is mentally ill I just think this is how her personality is shaped by her past experiences.
She doesnt take the BS and fakery and won't play the game.

I think from what people who have met and know her have said she is a lovely kind woman.

ShatnersWig · 31/08/2018 07:51

Apparently Jodie Marsh has tweeted she's made a complaint to Ofcom because she was also bullied in the CBB house when she was on it and says she can quite imagine that despite what was aired KW was bullied in the house. Says we only see precisely what the producers want us to see (obviously) for entertainment value.

Part of me thinks if the big announcement is something like CN is going on I'm A Celebrity this will have been the worst possible time to have something like this happen. Coz KW has a HUGE gay fan base - again, based on Twitter, she goes round a lot of gayclubs and they adore her and they all say she's lovely (and I suspect she probably is unless you cross her and that defence mechanism kicks in) - and they will ensure she has to face a lot of challenges.

LittleBookofCalm · 31/08/2018 07:51

I imagine Colleen will be in Panto as the villain this christmas.
