Has anyone else just watched Loose Women/Kim Woodburn’s outburst?

So there's been over 3,300 OFCOM complaints but they're not even mentioning it. Maybe it's all gone a bit legal or something. Seems v strange

Everyoneiswingingit · 30/08/2018 12:49

The only thing that will have effect is if people stop watching. Then the show will be pulled.
It's drastically gone down hill.
Today an X Factor contestant form 2011!!!!!!

9amTrain · 30/08/2018 12:51

3,300 complaints?!?!?

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:51

According to BBC yes.

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 12:53

Every tweet the LW account sends out is being responded to by people asking where the apology is and how come they are all there today condemning body shaming/bullying of Stacey Solomon by a magazine and how that conflicts with what happened yesterday. LW are not addressing it, nor is ITV. How can you ignore this level of public backlash? Does make you wonder if there is a potential legal aspect being discussed.

staydazzling · 30/08/2018 12:55

Its all over twitter people have very strong opinions either way, im a #teamkim inthe sense that shes a 76 , known to be unstable woman who was bare baited on live tv, never ok!!....fairly recently the show made a scouse lad with body dysmorphia look inthe mirror on live tv ...under the guise of a show about mentul' helf' ....its exploitative trash now the show needs to be replaced with something else.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 30/08/2018 12:56

I'm a SAHM and I never have daytime TV on as like the radio on instead. Have tried Loose Women a couple of times and find it has got progressively more dumbed down.

Watched today to see if any apologies.

Switched off again and won't be back to it.

Hope it gets pulled as it is just Take a Break in a TV show.

Everyoneiswingingit · 30/08/2018 12:58

The only decent panellists imo were JSP, Jane Moore, Kaye Adams Stacey and Ruth . The rest add nothing and behave quite badly at times.

Roussette · 30/08/2018 12:58

Hmmm... I'm finding today's Agenda v interesting, not your normal LW

Body shaming with Stacey
A scarred body confidence coach
A piece on Domestic Violence
And
An interview with Marcus whoever from BGT2011 who has anxiety

I think they are pushing themselves as the caring sharing programme

Aspenfrost · 30/08/2018 12:59

I doubt there will a statement far less an apology from that programme. They will not have the courage to own this behaviour. They hope, as politicians do, that the mud will remain under the carpet.

Turnedacorner · 30/08/2018 13:00

Nadia seems a little bit 'on edge', not her usual self.

Everyoneiswingingit · 30/08/2018 13:01

It's like mental health only gets sympathy if you act in a certain way. If you show anger or resentment nobody wants to go near it, you have to play their game. It's too heavy a subject for a tabloid tv show like LW they should leave it to the experts.

9amTrain · 30/08/2018 13:01

Ugh they said "what gets my goat"

I HATE that phrase Grin

Soulqueen · 30/08/2018 13:01

I agree it’s very dumbed down these days and some of the topics are so embarrassing I switch over. Everything is so trivialised. The journalists on the panel are generally better but itv has a habit of trying to make celebrities out of people with very dubious talent.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 30/08/2018 13:03

I haven't read the full thread but its looks to me that Kim has some sort of personality disorder and for TV producers to put her on the air and bait and goad her is outrageous.

I'm with the person who said she looks like she got early stage dementia too.

Everyoneiswingingit · 30/08/2018 13:04

I used to hate it when they flogged themselves silly to get votes for the NTAs. Half the show was competition ads and asking for votes. ITV all over and why I always record I'm a celebrity so I can whizz through the ads and phone line crap.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 30/08/2018 13:05

I thought Nadia seemed on edge, almost like she's expecting an audience member to kick off or something!! I would be interested in the viewing figures at the start and by the first break as many people switched off when they realised they weren't mentioning it

I did wonder if they aren't allowed under Ofcom rules or something??

Helipad · 30/08/2018 13:05

I used to watch Loose Women it first started in 1999, it wasn't what it's like it is now at all. It may have been slightly superficial but had interesting topics and I really like Kaye Adams. I stopped watching it a long time ago though as it went rapidly down hill -and I couldn't stand Jane McDonald-

I am their target audience too, middle-aged now with two children, work from home and could watch it when I take my lunch break but as it stands, no thanks.

ShatnersWig · 30/08/2018 13:08

I've just remembered another fact about the famous Linda Nolan. Her husband was convicted having been caught red-handed stealing ÂŁ200 from Frank Carson's wallet in his dressing room. OK, that's him rather than her, but still.... gives you an idea of the general level of the family behaviour.

Roussette · 30/08/2018 13:09

God it's so nauseating today. All soft voices, caring, empathic, serious and being all lovely and sensible, talking about difficult subjects such as body shaming, anxiety and domestic violence

What a contrast to yesterday's circus - JSP in a judge's outfit, the Exorcist music and goading of KW by 3 panellists

HelenaDove · 30/08/2018 13:14

Thing is they couldnt even talk about domestic violence without doing what about the menz

The reason there are so few refuges for men is because men havent done anything about it like the women did.

staydazzling · 30/08/2018 13:15

American women panel shows seem to be much more dignified & intelligent, im not their target audience but i am a sahm, between jeremy kyle and this steaming pile its a bit insulting tbh as if this is the quality of tv we deserve! Hmm and bbc day time just bores you to tears equally as insipid. I dont want to watch women who are old enough to be my mum but are more vacuous, and insular than me, Sad its just become hard old slappers live! (Sorry if that offends anyone) the whole thing annoys me. I wonder why the Uk cant combine intelligent and entertaining inthe same way america can for shows aimed at women. Its either insipid or dreadfully frumpy and dull no real inbetween.

HelenaDove · 30/08/2018 13:22

people are going to laugh at me for this but i didnt mind watching Kilroy on BBC1 years ago. They were proper debates and covered a wide range of topics.

9amTrain · 30/08/2018 13:24

Nothing...

Roussette · 30/08/2018 13:25

Helena! I've forgotten him! Yes he was quite good if I remember correctly

I bet the LW audience is peed off today. Not many laughs at anyone's expense. Just solemn pious panel faces discussing serious subjects
