I often can’t be arsed. Dh has to prompt me. Anyone else?

Where are these places that have no shower? That's like something out of the 1900s.

BishopBrennansArse · 19/08/2018 15:39

Always wash hands after using the loo and shower as often as I can, bearing in mind I'm disabled and so are the kids that relies on DH being available to help, which he isn't always. I'd prefer to shower more often but its not safe. So baby wipes have to do sometimes.

Flatpackjackie · 19/08/2018 15:47

Greasy hair IS stinky hair, MeyMary.
Must feel horrible too. I couldn't be around someone who thought that tying it up meant that it wasn't manky.

MeyMary · 19/08/2018 15:49

Suuure ;) having slightly flat hair means it's stinky.Grin

Benandhollysmum · 19/08/2018 16:07

I wash my hands with soap but not my face I use plain water and a facial wash..soaps awfully damaging to the skin makes my dry skin flakey..
I shower every day tho but try to avoid my hair
Have to I get horribly pongy if I don’t

BertieBotts · 19/08/2018 16:08

My mum doesn't have a shower! Her house was built in 1998. My MIL doesn't have one either but her house was probably built in more like 1798, so there is that.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:08

If I washed my hair daily it would be a massive frizzball!

Artus · 19/08/2018 16:14

I think the previous poster is confusing the 1980s with the 1890s!

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:15

Actually they’re not, DP and I were talking about bath night on a Sunday, and we’re both 80s babies, me early 80s him mid 80s.

Bluelady · 19/08/2018 16:17

Funny I was born 30 years earlier and had a daily bath, then. Same as my husband. Once a week? Vile.

BertieBotts · 19/08/2018 16:18

We had baths once a week in the 90s. I honestly don't think it was that unusual.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:18

You know what is far more vile than someone not washing?

Some of the fucking high and mighty attitudes on here. Hyacinth Bucket on steroids!

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:19

BertieBotts it wasn’t.

Bluelady · 19/08/2018 16:21

It was in the circles I moved in. 🌷 Closest to a hyacinth I could find!

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:22

Oh really? Well in the very very middle class “circle” I was brought up in, Sunday night was bath night. Hmm

Bluelady · 19/08/2018 16:25

It was with us too. And every other night of the week. 😀

PollyFlinderz · 19/08/2018 16:27

Me too.

We’d have our hair towel dried whilst watching Songs of Praise.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:28

Bluelady so why does that make you think you’re so much more superior to those who didn’t?

That’s my issue. Snotty and shitty comments like you’re so much better than anyone who isn’t in the shower every single day.

I’d much rather have a friend who didn’t wash daily but didn’t hold nasty attitudes about other people.

shapeshifter88 · 19/08/2018 16:28

I broke up with a partner for not showering every day. On my commute to work each morning on the packed tubes,it's clear there are quite a few people who don't shower each morning and it makes me heave.. you absolutely DO smell if you skip a day.

Bluelady · 19/08/2018 16:30

Any snottiness and shiftiness exists purely in your perception. I'm not better than anyone. Just cleaner than quite a lot of people it would seem.

YeTalkShiteHen · 19/08/2018 16:32

Vile was the word you used. Pretty snotty no?

I shower daily, my kids are bathed daily, usual gubbins of clean pyjamas, fresh bedding, blah blah.

I just don’t see the need to pretend I’m any better than someone who doesn’t do those things.

Therein lies the difference.

Bluelady · 19/08/2018 16:33

An opinion. We are still allowed those, aren't we?

MeyMary · 19/08/2018 16:39

I shower daily, my kids are bathed daily, usual gubbins of clean pyjamas, fresh bedding, blah blah.

You have fresh bedding everyday?

DameDoom · 19/08/2018 16:44

My cats refuse to lick their arses on anything but freshly laundered white sheets so my body and house must be kept nipping clean at all times otherwise they will desert me and I will be bereft.
As I said before though, I am very greasy and sweaty so need frequent hosing down. My hair mings after 8 hours hence the scrubbing.

OliviaStabler · 19/08/2018 16:44

I'd rather listen to Hyacinth Bucket than smell someone's BO
