To feel massively depressed about weight gain **pic inc**

I had my second ds 3 months ago and I am seriously low about my weight. My 2 boys are my world but I can't help but feel down about my body.
After ds1 (now 2.5) I snapped back. Always had a slim waist and curvy bum but was slim so didn't mind.
Now I just feel fat. Everything is wide.
I have spent the last 3 months eating nothing but healthy food. No treats. I walk between 2 and 4 miles a night once the kids are in bed.
The first pic was 18 months ago and the one on the he right is tonight.
Do I look hideous? I have to wear this dress at the weekend and now I'm dreading it.
Also does anyone have tips on how to target my midriff?
I feel like ds2 has changed my body shape permanently and I'll always be this wide.

I think you look great in both pics👍🏽

Twilight456 · 07/08/2018 23:02

You look lovely. Gorgeous hourglass figure! I am conscious of my tummy area too and always feel more comfortable in a pair of control pants- my bridget jones as i call them! Can't see your face in the pic obviously but if you're walking every day and eating healthy food I'm sure you've got lovely glowy skin too!

Canwejustrelaxnow · 07/08/2018 23:03

You don't look hideous! I think you need different underwear; some pants that finish above your tummy button, or some control thingies that come up to under your boobs.

Phosphorus · 07/08/2018 23:03

It's really not the most flattering dress, is there something else you could wear?

I'm sure I'm wider after having children, but realistically, I think I'm just fatter generally.

Unless pregnancy actually widened my upper arms!

RedPandaMama · 07/08/2018 23:04

You honestly look great. Gorgeous hourglass.

Cuppaorwine · 07/08/2018 23:05

3 months is nothing. You look great. Get good underware for the weekend.

Still that’s not going to cut it as it’s how you feel. Walking won’t do it you need a bike. Honestly a 3/4 mike cycle a day or every other day and you will tone up. I did.

firsttimebabybirther · 07/08/2018 23:05

You literally birthed a human 12 weeks ago , give yourself a break. You look lovely , some sucky in pants and you'll feel better Smile

Teachtolive · 07/08/2018 23:05

Don't be too down, in my experience it's harder to shift the weight after the 2nd for some reason. Keep doing what you're doing, he's only 3 months old, it took you 9 months to grow him! Give yourself a break, you look great.

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar · 07/08/2018 23:06

You don't look hideous!!

Seriously go a bit easier on yourself, you had a baby just three months ago! Realistically there's not a lot you can do to change your shape (not that it needs it) between now and the weekend, but good shaper underwear well help smooth your silhouette which might help you feel more confident. Honestly you look great, enjoy your event!

Singlenotsingle · 07/08/2018 23:06

You can still fit in the same dres! What's the problem?

WhyTheHeckMe · 07/08/2018 23:07

The dress is nice but the pics don't do it justice at all. I have no alternative unfortunately.
I'm wearing underwear in the left pic. In the one from tonight I'm commando! I had 2 emergency csec which have resulted in a pouch that I cannot shift for love nor money. So I look like I'm wearing pants that are too tight :(
Going to take a trip to m&s tomorrow to see if I can find decent "Bridget joneses"

Oh and in terms of targeting, try doing the plank challenge. If you Google it the details should come up

Starryskiesinthesky · 07/08/2018 23:07

I think it always takes longer to get back in shape after your second - at least it did for me!

If you don’t feel great in that dress do you have anything else you could wear that you might feel better in? Or time to shop?

CandyflossKing · 07/08/2018 23:07

You gave birth 3 months ago! You look amazing! Stop beating yourself up!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/08/2018 23:07

Lovely figure OP. Do you have another dress you could wear? If you're not comfortable in that one you're going to feel self conscious.

Ahostofgoldendaffodils · 07/08/2018 23:07

You really do have a classic hourglass figure and you look good in both, but I second control underwear to give a smoother finish. However, if you don’t feel comfortable in the dress then - if possible- don’t wear it as you will be self conscious all evening. X

WhyTheHeckMe · 07/08/2018 23:08

Singlenotsingle it's stretchy material Smile

FuckMyUterus · 07/08/2018 23:08

Please don't take offence at this OP, but apart from looking slightly wider all over in the second picture, you really don't look any different. You certainly aren't fat in any sense of the word, and I genuinely don't see what you are seeing. You look absolutely stunning!

WhyTheHeckMe · 07/08/2018 23:09

Okay I'm pinning everything on control underwear then.
Also I do have a bike. Will start cycling tomorrow evening then :-)

Thanks for nice comments ladies. I know he's only 3 months old but I've never felt so gross. I just can't snap out of it

Ispini · 07/08/2018 23:11

I think you should see if you could wear something else. The dress is beautiful but I agree with the different underwear advice. Remember though you are only three months after giving birth, I was lucky to make it into a tracksuit! I think we put ourselves under too much pressure to get back to ‘normal’. You are doing all the right things but I truly believe it takes about a year to lose baby weight especially with subsequent children. Enjoy your evening out and congrats on your baby.

garethsouthgatesmrs · 07/08/2018 23:12

I've never felt so gross you do realise how offensive that is to all the women who are actually overweight? cos its so gross to have a slightly bigger tummy but still fit into the same dress

Ispini · 07/08/2018 23:13

Oh no! Please don’t say you feel gross, you have just made a new human, you’re fantastic!

sirmione16 · 07/08/2018 23:14

That style dress is super flattering actually, and whilst yes there's a visible difference (and for a bloody good reason!) you're still looking stunning in the gown. Go buy a pretty bracelet or get your hair styled whilst you're in town, feel confident and it'll show. Have an amazing time x

Karmaisabish · 07/08/2018 23:16

Wow.

Your figure on the right is slimmer than I could ever hope to be.

Donyou really see yourself as gross? You are so slim?
I'm 16 stone. God knows what you would think I am.
:(

looondonn · 07/08/2018 23:17

you look perfectly fine

i can not understand why you think otherwise

you just had a baby - go easy on yourself
life with young children is hard enough and others judge - why do we judge ourselves so much
