YES. My DS is still awake and I am sitting with him MELTING

NotMyCircusMonkeys · 04/08/2018 00:33

It's so humid and muggy and sticky. Bleurghhh.

Ohthatiswhy · 04/08/2018 00:33

NO sleep here.

PinkSquidgyPig · 04/08/2018 00:34

Finally got my DD off to sleep an hour ago. 'Yes, I know you are hot love. The whole country is hot!'

Wauden · 04/08/2018 00:35

Opened all the upper floor windows here at Wauden Towers, drinking cold water from fridge, sleeping with ambiguous relationship with duvet...

daisyinatree · 04/08/2018 00:36

Today has been soooooo humid. Like 26 C and humid. I would just rather it was 32 and plain HOT.

Actually longing for winter now LOL! ❄️☃️❄️

I mean, it's been hot and humid and dry for 4 chuffing months now!

ENOUGH ALREADY!

dippyeggsandsoldiers · 04/08/2018 00:43

my DD keeps waking up, it's 28 degrees according to our grow egg. I'm SO over summer now, roll on autumn and winter 🍂❄️

userxx · 04/08/2018 00:47

Absolutely loving the weather. Been sat outside the local pub and it's like being being abroad. Please stop moaning!

starryeyed19 · 04/08/2018 01:55

No. We won't stop moaning. It's hot and uncomfortable and you can't go outside and do anything and the kids won't bloody sleep and there is no let up at all

Why bother coming on a thread that's been set up for everyone to have a moan and get it off their chest if you're having a lovely time? Good for you. Enjoy. And let the rest of us moan in peace.

ALongHardWinter · 04/08/2018 02:07

I'm looking forward to autumn. It's always been my favourite time of year, even more so now. I am sick of this damn heat. It saps my energy,I am fed up to the back teeth of dripping with sweat the moment I do anything more strenuous than sitting still,my house is a dusty mess as I just cannot summon the energy to clean. I am disabled, and also suffer from fibromyalgia so I get bloody knackered enough at the best of times but I usually just about manage. But this weather is the last straw. Does anyone know when it is going to become more bearable? The 5 days 28th July - 1st August were OK,as it dropped to 21 degrees on one day,and was around 23 -24 the other four, which was fine by me. But yesterday was 30 and today 33 where I live (west London). You wait though, there'll still be the moaning Minnies come autumn/winter,complaining that we've had 'a lousy summer with no sun'. Right.

ALongHardWinter · 04/08/2018 02:14

starryeyed19. Totally agree with you! Why is that people who for some inconceivable reason LOVE this stinking weather always try to make those of us who suffer in it look like there's something seriously wrong with us? Everyone to themselves! Some people cope fine with hot weather, others with cold weather. You won't hear me moaning endlessly about very cold weather,it really doesn't bother me. But I wouldn't dream of criticising people who didn't like it or were badly affected by it.

bitheby · 04/08/2018 02:19

I can't sleep. Got sunburnt yesterday and am too hot. Have a long drive tomorrow with kids in the car and I need to be rested.

Four months ago I think we had 12 foot snow drifts where I live though. The heatwave hasn't lasted that long!

liz70 · 04/08/2018 02:21

13° outside at night here. #smug Grin

I pity all you sweltering sufferers - I can't cope with much more than 24 or 25°. Hope it cools down soon for you. Flowers

Smilingfuckyou · 04/08/2018 02:24

It’s too hot. Scientific fact

where2now · 04/08/2018 02:28

I'm so over summer now... and still got my holidays in a couple of weeks to grab Canaria, our weather here in
London seems to be much hotter than Gran Canaria. Hope it cools down soon, can't even take the kids out much as it's just too hot. My little one has just fallen asleep and my 4 year old I think has heat exhaustion, she feeling sick, has a temp and really drowsy. Even if it drops to between 20-25 it's bearable but this is too much

Bit much really

Chrisinthemorning · 04/08/2018 02:47

We are in London visiting friends- live in Yorkshire. It’s roasting down here! First night I am finding sleep hard due to heat.
We got into the car at 19C and got out at 29 yesterday!

Piglet208 · 04/08/2018 02:48

I've abandoned the bedroom and I am on a recliner downstairs. Still too hot. It cooled down a bit earlier outside but the marvellous insulating properties of my house are driving me insane.

Clairetree1 · 04/08/2018 03:17

sleeping with ambiguous relationship with duvet...

I've taken the duvet out and am just sleeping under the duvet cover. Not even covering my arms and legs, just my neck and body. Only that in case DC come in in the night

Chinnyreckoning · 04/08/2018 03:24

Cool in Scotland... I'm in my fleecy jams

MrSpock · 04/08/2018 03:31

I hate it. I can’t bloody sleep, takes ages too get kids to bed, too hot to do anything...it makes my pregnancy sickness worse too. Can not wait for cooler weather.

LucheroTena · 04/08/2018 03:32

I’d love to live in the far north or over in the west. London and South east have been hideous for months. Escaped further north a couple of weeks ago to temps of 22-24 and it was so much more bearable. The fucking tube is like an oven. The house is not much better. The grass is white. Everywhere looks grubby and dead. I hate it.

RedneckStumpy · 04/08/2018 03:37

We moved from the UK to live live in Maine USA. Our summer has been similar to yours. Tomorrow we are going to Finnish up our firewood for the winter. We will cut down and chop up 6 trees in 32C fun fun fun

LanguidLobster · 04/08/2018 03:37

It's not bad here: not cold, not hot, 18°c
