Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

@MetalMidget yep that’ll be why there’s a dropped kerb at the end of the culdesac.

@Jaxhog we’ve had a similar problem and you can involve the police if it’s preventing you entering and exiting your property because it’s classed as an obstruction but they won’t prosecute over parking I front of a dropped kerb alone.

Jaxhog · 15/07/2018 17:21

@blondevolvo good to know. I know our local council has the occasional blitz on people blocking dropped kerbs.

We have commuters and school mums parking in people's drives too.

Theweasleytwins · 15/07/2018 17:25

Only read the op so far... Absolutely beautiful diagram😁

trojanpony · 15/07/2018 17:31

I love the diagrams 😍 and love the update even more 😍😍😍
What delicious revenge

I came on to say what MetalMidget pointed out. If you report it the council about the dropped curve they will tow it.

PotteryLady · 15/07/2018 17:33

Great diagrams and update - waiting for it to kick off.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/07/2018 17:36

Reminds me of our batshit neighbours at previous house who had 6 cars, and Mrs Batshit used to complain about where we parked our one and only car

TheMobileSiteMadeMeSignup · 15/07/2018 17:36

I just want to find out what happens when the Cf NDNs return!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/07/2018 17:37

Hopefully not nice NDN in yellow car!

Awesome diagrams.

JennaTools · 15/07/2018 17:47

Sorry we went to the beach Blush but we walked and left the cars as they were. Just return to everything as we left it and no news or sign of anyone.

This is a corker of a thread. It should go in Classics. My breath is bated until they come home too. Hats off to yellow neighbour.

Muddlingalongalone · 15/07/2018 17:52

Nice neighbour is awesome.
Could you ask the council to put single yellow line with restrictions?

Ariclock · 15/07/2018 17:55

Definitely report to the council op, if they can double yellow the road by the dropped curb that would stop your c.f. neighbours!

ApolloandDaphne · 15/07/2018 17:55

Well done nice NDN!

Urbanbeetler · 15/07/2018 17:57

I do love a good parking thread and this is a good parking thread.

gingeristhenewblack43 · 15/07/2018 18:03

Any updates? Epic diagram btw Grin

DiaryofWimpyMum · 15/07/2018 19:04

Oh exciting!! I'm having problems with my neighbour with 4 cats plus boyfriends, I've started walking more to avoid moving the car from it's space.

Everstrong · 15/07/2018 19:22

Hmmm I wonder if you live on my street OP, my CF neighbour has 1 parking space (they were offered more than one but said no) and now have 6 vehicles!! It’s a nightmare trying to park.

The neighbours next to me have a drive for 2 cars but have 2 people carriers and a smaller car which they park on the dropped kerb. I can’t reverse into my drive as there are cars on the dropped kerb at either side of my drive and then another car parked opposite.Angry

OrchidFancy · 15/07/2018 19:32

We have 6 cars in our householdBlush
Me, DH, DD and DS have 1 each. DD and DS have a work van each that they have to bring home each night.
We fit 3 cars on our drive, one at the bottom of the drive and the vans go anywhere in the street. I reckon about 50% of our neighbours have work vehicles. It's becoming a problem. Back in the day work vehicles used to be left at work at the end of the day.
Excellent diagrams OP, looking forward to the update!

JennaTools · 15/07/2018 19:33

There was shouting going on so I ran out to find cunty neighbour in the street shouting about people being 'entitled' and 'twatty' - the cheek.
Nice NDNs partner was out there with him and I missed what was said but I came out and cunty neighbour was saying that the 'spaces' at the end of the cul de sac are for his use as they are an extenuation of his drive as if anyone else parked there it would hinder access to his drive way (exactly my problem!!!!!).. his estate agent had told him he could park there. He completely ignored me when I piped up and said that his parking there hinders me and he called me a bad woman driver Hmm
NDNs partner said anyone could park there but it takes a special type of arsehole to do so Shock
Cunty chops then says he's calling the police. Everyone's gone back in.

Epic update

OrchidFancy · 15/07/2018 19:35

Forgot to say! A few weeks back DD parked her van outside our neighbours house 2 doors up (they have 4 cars and 4 occupants but cant/won't use their drive)
she wasn't over a dropped kerb. She came out to go to work the next day and 3 of her tyres were slashed!Shock

c3pu · 15/07/2018 19:35

Expect slashed tyres in the morning 😂😂😂
