Parking situation on my new road.

JennaTools · 14/07/2018 22:43

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

If anyone's tyres were to be slashed it would be nice NDN who is still parked at the end. He would be pretty stupid to phone the police and then do that Grin

Call the police on him for his sweaty rant. Say you felt intimidated. Do you live alone?

JennaTools · 15/07/2018 19:41

Haha quality outcome

OrchidFancy · 15/07/2018 19:41

DD knocked on his doorShock and gave him a mouthful saying because of his cuntiness her van would be there even longer as she had to wait for maintenance to come and fix the tyres, and thanks to him she gets 2 hours extra at home drinking teaGrinHer company informed the police. Neighbour didn't deny it.
There really are some entitled arseholes about.

Everstrong · 15/07/2018 19:42

Haha yeah his estate agent told him he could park there...of course he did, he wanted to sell the house!

He sounds like an awful man, tell him to check the deeds to his property and if these prove to you that he effectively “owns” the entire road you will of course move.

And you defo can’t be in my street as the only shouting today has been chavvy neighbour 2 doors up calling her 4 years old a “f**king stupid idiot” Sad

JennaTools · 15/07/2018 19:44

Oh @Everstrong that's horrible!

@OrchidFancy your dd sound brilliant Star

Where has he parked while he waits for the police 👮‍♀️?

polarpercy · 15/07/2018 19:46

Whilst it is unlikely regarding the estate agent, don't rule it out! I caught a local estate agent telling the people who were looking at the house around the corner from us that yes the space outside our house was for them to use.

Before anyone jumps on me I live on a private unadopted road and our deeds show we all own out to the middle of the road in front of our house. Leaving the far side for vehicles to drive down. So technically I do own the space outside my house! I had been walking home and have to walk past the house that was up for sale which isn't on the private road and is a free for all with parking. They were concerned about where their 2 cars would go and asked about round the corner (we are the first house). The estate agent eager to make a sale told them that yes they could consider it theirs! I am a self-confessed busybody so stopped and put him straight. He tried to talk over me and said that I was wrong and my landlord had told them it was ok. I don't have a landlord.... their faces were a picture and needless to say they walked off and left him there outside the house!

JennaTools · 15/07/2018 19:50

One of the cars is blocking his drive and also blocking nice NDN from getting out from the end, no idea about the others they're not on this road.

BellMcEnd · 15/07/2018 19:54

Ace user name as well as fab diagrams. Top marks, OP!

cornishmumtobe · 15/07/2018 19:54

They are such knobbers!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/07/2018 19:54

We fit 3 cars on our drive, one at the bottom of the drive and the vans go anywhere in the street
Fine if they are small car sized vans, but if they are larger, it would be more considerate to park the vans on your drive.

Potato2242 · 15/07/2018 19:57

What a prick! I love your neighbor tho! Definitely place marking

Mummyoflittledragon · 15/07/2018 19:59

I didn’t know cf estate agent owned the road! They’re really stupid to really think they could just park there and not piss anyone off. Your ndn sound ace.

MoonsAndJunes · 15/07/2018 20:03

Can NNDN get out at all or are they completely blocked in?
Next move would be to park in the same direction they do - taking up 2 spaces if possible.

MoonsAndJunes · 15/07/2018 20:05

*Today 19:54 BreakfastAtSquiffanys

We fit 3 cars on our drive, one at the bottom of the drive and the vans go anywhere in the street

I would HATE to have someone else's van parked outside my front window constantly.

MoonsAndJunes · 15/07/2018 20:06

Sorry, didn't mean to tag you 'Breakfast'

Cupcakecafe · 15/07/2018 20:11

If they report it could ndn get in trouble for blocking a dropped curb?

Also, awesome diagram!

MissSusanSays · 15/07/2018 20:12

Autocorrect fail 😂

What I meant was that the police will take his intimidation more seriously (rightly or wrongly).

If this is going to be an ongoing issue then i’d start logging bad behaviour now.

huggybear · 15/07/2018 20:15

I'm glad his understanding of public roads seems be to solely based on the word of an estate agent!

Go OP and NNDN.

OrchidFancy · 15/07/2018 20:20

breakfast The 2 vans are small car sized vans. There are 5(!) transit size vans in our road, one is a school mini bus which has been outside our house the whole weekend😏 and will soon be parked up somewhere, unused for the summer hols.
