Parking situation on my new road.

I have just completed on a new house. When I viewed it I spent time on different days popping by the road at different times of day to checkout the parking situation and all was fine. My house and the one opposite have a drive for 1 car odd road and the others have space for 2. I only have one car.

The house opposite was for sale at the same time and the new occupants have just moved in a couple of weeks after me.
They have 6 cars!!!! (Green)

I have tried my best on the diagram to illustrate where everyone tends to park - each house has a coloured for above and then their cars are the same colour lines.
I only have one car so my driveway is ample however with green house wankers parking their cars all over the place - mainly at the end of the cul de sac - it's really hard to get out of my drive with cars also parked on the road in between my house (red) and my nice NDN (blue)

I've popped round and introduced myself and explained asking them politely not to park the three cars at the the end of the cul de sac (which is a dropped kerb. But they closed the door in my face and I haven't seen them since. Tonight they've got all of their cars all over the road as per the diagram.

What's my best course of action here?

Your neighbour is amazing!

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 15/07/2018 14:47

Oh well done nice NDN. Wonder what they’ll do. CFs are such an unpredictable bunch.

flumpybear · 15/07/2018 14:47

Fucking 8 cars and 1 space! What's wrong with those idiots!
Hoping it'll come to a head for you today OP!!

If they block your dropped curb, they are committing an offence. Report them to your local council. The police won't do anything as it's a civil matter.

But in the meantime, park on the road at the end of the cul-de-sac. If you can do it in such a way as to prevent them parking, but not block the road, all the better!

Well done to your neighbour. I fear these people will just block. her in. They sound like brutes.

LakieLady · 15/07/2018 14:59

Parking thread, CFs, fab neighbour and the BEST diagrams - love this!

MetalMidget · 15/07/2018 15:04

This is how the end of the cul de sac is laid out so behind their 3 cars is communal grass with a footpath running through and 3 bollards stopping cars

Not sure if anyone's asked this, but are their 3 cars that they've taken to parking there blocking entrance/exit to and from the footpath, particularly for wheelchair/mobility scooters? Pretty sure the council would have to act on that for accessibility reasons.

Good luck cheeky fuckers like this tend to be Teflon coated.

dingdongdigeridoo · 15/07/2018 15:32

This seems to be becoming a more common problem, neighbours having shit loads of cars. My parents have the same issue with their neighbours who have six cars, two of which are great big fucking work vans, and one of which is a half built piece of junk. They block the road and are a total nightmare. But these sorts of CFs are so bloody selfish that they’ll never think of their impact on the neighbours or think about putting their unused cars in storage. It’s all about them.

RhubarbRhubarbRhubarbRhubarb · 15/07/2018 15:38

I can’t believe many families need six cars for one household. That’s bonkers. The worst in our street is three for a couple with no dcs living with them. I feel guilty having two!

TwoBlueShoes · 15/07/2018 15:43

Just place marking. Exciting stuff!!

Mayra1367 · 15/07/2018 15:43

cornishmumtobe · 15/07/2018 15:47

Any update OP?

TheEmmaDilemma · 15/07/2018 15:49

Oh exciting stuff!

Littlecaf · 15/07/2018 15:58

If you have two parents and two adult DC then four cars may be likely in many cases.

Appuskidu · 15/07/2018 16:04

Good on your neighbour!

Query1 · 15/07/2018 16:06

Any news OP?!

c3pu · 15/07/2018 16:09

Could you ask the council to paint a white H over your driveway entrance to discourage people from overhanging it?

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 15/07/2018 16:23

Big gold star for the diagrams op.

Awaiting developments.

EmUntitled · 15/07/2018 16:39

Having 6 cars is not unreasonable if you have enough space for them. My parents have 4 cars, a campervan and a motorbike but they fit what they can on the driveway, bike in the garage and hire storage for one of the cars so they don't block the road.

These people not have space to keep all of these cars and so are unreasonable to have so many, especially if they are not even being used regularly. Unfortunately I don't think there is much you can do :(

Babababananana · 15/07/2018 16:51

I’m just here to find out what happens when NDNs get home 🍿 Grin

Also you have my sympathies OP, my NDN has 5 cars and is a single man with a teenage son and doesn’t have a driveway. He appears to buy and sell them. He started parking overhanging the parking bay (it stops right outside my house) meaning I couldn’t open my back passenger door to get DS in or out (can’t park facing the other way) went and spoke to him about it and thankfully the issue is resolved because he is a nice reasonable person, however it’s still annoying when he parks in the bay cos someone from the houses at the side of us have parked in one of ‘his spots’ and it’s fucks up our nice little order we all have along our row in the bay. None of them are ever taxed either and when one got clamped he cut it off 😂

Yumyumpigs · 15/07/2018 16:54

Wooohooo go neighbour! Can't wait to see what they do/say!!!

Ariclock · 15/07/2018 17:00

Just placemarking, great diagrams op :)

Knittedfairies · 15/07/2018 17:07
