For 3 bridesmaids (who all know each other) and the bride.

Saturday afternoon
Meet at bride’s house late afternoon for drinks, nibbles and a few hen party style games. Get ready to go out together.

Saturday evening
Go into town together. Italian meal. Bar hop several different cocktails bars with different themes (e.g. one is like a science lab).
Go back to bride’s house and get into pyjamas for films and chocolate. Everybody sleeps over at bride’s (seperate bedrooms).

Sunday morning
Coffee and croissants at bride’s house.
Drive to afternoon tea venue, collecting daughters and grandmothers on the way.

Sunday afternoon
Afternoon tea for 15 ish guests.

What do you think? Would this weekend appeal to you?

That sounds lovely! Can I come?

QueenOfMyWorld · 13/07/2018 19:01

Sounds lovely

Aeroflotgirl · 13/07/2018 19:03

Sounds great, and quite reasonable.

OwlinaTree · 13/07/2018 19:04

I'd rather go clubbing after the drinking than the films, but sounds like a plesent evening.

DickensianHysteric · 13/07/2018 19:04

All sounds great apart from the bar hopping, I would prefer to stay in the one place for drinks and not have to keep moving about. That's probably just me though! Enjoy yourselves!

TrickyKid · 13/07/2018 19:04

Sounds great, very relaxed and not over the top. I'd really enjoy it.

BlackWatchBelle · 13/07/2018 19:04

That sounds ideal to me. Not tonnes of expense, no great expectation to have a wild night out (I would enjoy drinks more knowing there was an end time) and lots of fun time together

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2018 19:05

I would but the vast majority of people hate every hen weekend unless it involves tea and knitting.
That said I'd want to get home on the Sunday. Always do.

Nodancingshoes · 13/07/2018 19:05

Sounds good - refreshing change from mega expensive hen weekend abroad that I always hear about on here!

MatildaTheCat · 13/07/2018 19:06

Sounds great although personally I’d prefer not to bar hop especially if it’s busy as you’ll keep having to look for somewhere to sit/ stand and once I get settled with a glass I’d rather stay put and chat.

Nice small number sounds very sensible.

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2018 19:06

Is sensible what the bride wants for her hen night?

DissertationDrama · 13/07/2018 19:08

@StealthPolarBear

Very definitely.

Sounds lovely, have a great time!

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2018 19:09

That was actually in response to matilda but sounds good. I went to a boozy but sensible he do a couple of weeks ago, it was great

Ceebs85 · 13/07/2018 19:10

Sounds perfect to me. Apart from the bar hopping

Cleanermaidcook · 13/07/2018 19:12

Sounds perfect to me.

Mummadeeze · 13/07/2018 19:13

I would like it apart from going back for films. I would prefer to stay and late and dance to cheesy music! But everything else sounds great.

pilates · 13/07/2018 19:16

Yes I would like it

Glumglowworm · 13/07/2018 19:16

Sounds good to me and I’m pretty antisocial so would hate most hen weekends

Like PP I’d rather stay in one bar though (science lab theme sounds fun!) or maybe two, but not hopping round for the sake of it

henpeckedinchief · 13/07/2018 19:19

Sounds lovely!

TheHonGalahadThreepwood · 13/07/2018 19:19

That sounds amazing. The only thing that strikes me is that you might want to discuss with the others the possibility of going out for a bit of a walk somewhere (e.g. if you have some nice botanical gardens/riverside/countryside nearby) on the Sunday late morning/early afternoon in between croissants and the afternoon tea for a bit of exercise and fresh air, as everything else centres around eating and drinking - I would be a bit lethargic by the Sunday afternoon otherwise! But otherwise it sounds fab. As a PP said, I wouldn't be over-ambitious with the bar-hopping as you want people to be able to relax and chat rather than constantly interrupt yourselves by marshalling everyone on to the next bar.

TheMagicTorch · 13/07/2018 19:20

Can I come? Sounds like the hen do I'd like. Partying but not too outgoing and relatively inexpensive- I love sleepovers and brunch x

lastnightidreamtofpotatoes · 13/07/2018 19:21

Hen games and bar hopping would be my nightmare. Everything else seems great especially getting into pyjamas, but I am an old gimmer

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2018 19:21

No one likes hen dos it seems.

DissertationDrama · 13/07/2018 19:22

I was thinking 2 or 3 different bars, but there is a point to it as they are different themes, not just hopping for the sake of it. Good point about the walk! It is all quite food based. That probably says something about me Grin
