Theresa may's awful awful red dress

AIBU?
I think she looked absolutely ridiculous in that red dress when she greeted Trump at Blenheim palace.

She looked out of place and was perhaps trying to compete with melania trump...obviously a formal event but that dress was a bad choice and didn't suit her AT ALL.
The slit....🙈

What an awful thread... Saved only by the comment:
she actually mixes the line between fashion and bunnies very well Grin

Herja · 13/07/2018 07:12

She looked fine. It's a good colour on her. She's 61 at essentially a corporate event, what's she meant to look like?Confused.

Nor do I think for her age her level of body toning and general appearance of health is shocking. She seems to go on walking holidays and has well managed diabetes, so I'd say her health is fine too. I don't like her politics, but this seems bloody unfair.

Flashinggreen · 13/07/2018 07:13

And I was thinking that about Melania’s outfit, OTT. Theresa May wore an appropriate dress. We have more problems today than her wardrobe choices.

MrsTerryPratchett · 13/07/2018 07:15

I do hope all us women get the memo. It doesn't matter what you do or what you achieve or how badly you fuck up; all that matters is whether you are pretty. Know your place!

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 13/07/2018 07:16

I thought she looked atrocious.

And as for 'she didn't get there on looks' she didn't get there on public votes either. Can't abide the woman.

Aeroflotgirl · 13/07/2018 07:16

Not keen on TM, but her dress was fantastic, looked really good on her. Why so nasty op.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 13/07/2018 07:17

She probably is reasonably unhealthy to a point. I can’t imagine she ever gets much sleep, or time for exercise and despite best intentions, she probably just grabs whatever food she can that she can work with her diabetes.

I’ve worked for MPs and the majority are not particularly fit and healthy- majorly lacking in nutrition due to no time to eat or grabbing something on the go, lack of time and they run on very little sleep so I can’t imagine the PM is any better. It’s not her lack of caring it’s a lack of time for SELF care! Like her or not, I don’t envy her job for a moment!

And OP, why start the thread? Jesus Christ, what happened to women supporting women?!

surferjet · 13/07/2018 07:17

And actually I think TM dresses very well given her age

I can’t stand the ageism on here.

TM always looks really good imo.

PitterPatterOfBigFeet · 13/07/2018 07:17

I can't stand the woman's politics but I also couldn't care less what she was wearing and very much doubt she was trying to compete the Trump's wife!

Aeroflotgirl · 13/07/2018 07:19

I've just started a women's WC thread in chat, band some of negative comments about womens sport and women's football are thoroughly depressing. Women know your place, to look pretty, and to stay in the home.

PussGirl · 13/07/2018 07:19

She does have bad posture & looks as though she might be getting osteoporosis to me.

I thought the dress was lovely, but wasn't sure about the high split at the back.

Red, I think, is a bit wintery.

brizzledrizzle · 13/07/2018 07:20

Her dress is the least of the things I dislike about her. There are so many important issues at stake and you are assessing her clothes? Biscuit

Would you do that if she was a man?

SoupDragon · 13/07/2018 07:21

TM has set herself up as some kind of style arbiter

😂😂

DarklyDreamingDexter · 13/07/2018 07:23

And you can judge how she looks/ dresses because you're obviously a super model and style icon, OP. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to comment on how the prime minister looks. I look forward to the time you're running the country and on the world stage, with your charming and inciteful comments.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/07/2018 07:23

What the pm chooses to wear and which makes her open to criticism because of it, is entirely different to whether the country should be glued to watching women’s football teams Aeroflot.

Fresta · 13/07/2018 07:23

There's nothing to say about men's fashions- on the whole they all wear similar things.

everybodysang · 13/07/2018 07:25

I loathe her. But what the hell does it matter what she wears? How utterly shallow and vacuous.

StealthPolarBear · 13/07/2018 07:25

Yes he life must just be one long mix if trying on new frocks and clearing out the rabbits' hutch, grooming them etc. :)

slowrun · 13/07/2018 07:26

I thought she looked presentable. Looks like they were in evening dress. Can't think she would have had endless choices over what would look good and appropriate. Something too frilly would have looked awful. She could have perhaps gone for a more fifties silhouette, with a fitted top, sleeves and flared skirt. But I think the dress fitted well enough. It skimmed her body and didn't cling to any lumps and bumps. She can't be expected to look like a movie star when she is PM.

madeyemoodysmum · 13/07/2018 07:26

I doubt any PM of either sex have much time for exercise or sleep!!

Melena on the other hand is 30 years younger and has loads of time to do such things Her only job is to look good

Wouldn't want either job myself

foxssoxareinthebox · 13/07/2018 07:26

Such a bitchy thread. Would you criticise Corbyn’s dress sense? Thought not.

mimibunz · 13/07/2018 07:26

Yes, YABU, but then you know that. And all because you can’t wrap your head round current events and make an intelligent comment about Brexit or Trump’s awful presidency.

positivepixie · 13/07/2018 07:27

She wore leather trousers once so that makes her 'fair game' in terms of commenting on what she wears/looks like. Pahahaha, proper made me laugh that comment. How ridiculous.

BananaMilkshake13 · 13/07/2018 07:30

I haven't meant to offend anyone this morning but I am allowed to share my opinion on the dress.
I am simply stating that I think it was a poor choice and not particularly flattering.

SuburbanRhonda · 13/07/2018 07:30

what she looks like is completely fucking irrelevant, you idiotic, sexist, shallow dinosaur.
