To think this school lunch is a choking hazard?

A picture from Facebook from a local school. The red grapes don't look cut lengthways, I'm guessing due to being almost perfect spheres.

To think this school lunch is a choking hazard?

Confused but they are cut lengthways - you can see the dot at the top where they were pulled off the vine

Lazypuppy · 10/07/2018 14:10

The red grapes are cut lengthways...

SoddingUnicorns · 10/07/2018 14:10

They are cut lengthways, and even if they weren’t as you said they’re a perfect sphere so it wouldn’t really make much difference.

At least they’re cut!

MrsJayy · 10/07/2018 14:11

I think by primary age they can chew a grape I can't imagine school kitchen staff will cutgrapesfor maybe 100 school dinners.

Chuckle2 · 10/07/2018 14:11

They are cut lengthways.
Regardless, anyone could choke on anything.
Surely it's neither here nor there how the grapes are chopped Hmm

NoNoCharlieRascal · 10/07/2018 14:11

That's a miserable and dry looking lunch anyway.

The grapes are fine. And they have been cut. Can't see the issue with them.

PinkHeart5914 · 10/07/2018 14:11

Why do they get potatoes with pizza? Like why? And bread too? Weird combination imo.

The grapes are probably just for the picture as I doubt that was actually taken at lunch time, it’s a staged picture

Chuckle2 · 10/07/2018 14:12

You sound a bit precious OP
Do you cut up all your child's food until it's just mush that would be very hard to choke on?

Battleax · 10/07/2018 14:13

You’re forensically examining school website photos?! They’ll have rolled out a more aesthetically pleasing fruit pot than normal for the photos anyway.

MrsJayy · 10/07/2018 14:13

Oh it is cut well spotted but . I work with pre schoolers I cutgrapes but I didn't know they had to be cut a certain way

Battleax · 10/07/2018 14:13

Ah, I see. PFB? Smile

Mookatron · 10/07/2018 14:14

I'm more concerned about the number of carbs on that boy's plate. But step away. You're on the path to madness. Let the school deal.

TroubledLichen · 10/07/2018 14:14
  1. the grapes clearly have been cut
  2. a 4 year old should be able to chew a grape
  3. that lunch looks shit; pizza, bread and potatoes?!
SoddingUnicorns · 10/07/2018 14:14

Definitely! Grin

KirstenRaymonde · 10/07/2018 14:15

I’d be more concerned about bread, pizza and potatoes on the same plate. Not that I buy into the carb fear generally, but that is a bit much and not very balanced.

BrutusMcDogface · 10/07/2018 14:16

The grapes have been cut!

However, I agree with this: pizza, bread AND potatoes?! Really!?

They are cut lengthways in my children's school as a matter of course. No one wants a child to choke at school.

Gileswithachainsaw · 10/07/2018 14:16

If you want to complain if complain about bread bread and potato being served. The fruit pot is the only thing that looks edible

UterusUterusGhali · 10/07/2018 14:17

I'd be more concerned about the triple-carbing seeing as the grapes are cut.
Meh

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 14:17

I can't believe you have posted this! 😂

And the grapes are cut lengthways. What is wrong with you?

MrsJayy · 10/07/2018 14:17

Surely it should be pizza and smiley faces salad nobody especially children is going to want pizza and potatoes

Thehop · 10/07/2018 14:17

That’s a pretty poor lunch, I think, compared to most schools. Bread potatoes and pizza?!!

Battleax · 10/07/2018 14:17

Are you anxious generally about PFB starting school OP?

Moonkissedlegs · 10/07/2018 14:18

Oh yeah school dinners always triple carb. I'm surprised there isn't pasta on there as well.

TrudeauGirl · 10/07/2018 14:19

The grapes are cut lengthways. They are cut the same way as I used to cut them for the toddler I babysat. The lunch doesn't have any choking hazards that I can see.
