Urgh I’m so annoyed! Going Perranporth a week today. Weather looks rubbish!! The following week it goes nice again! Think I’m going to cry if it rains every day!

Sorry- I never holiday in the UK.

It's all about the sun for me.

Not much help.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 09/07/2018 18:17

Rain? We haven't had rain for a month.

londonrach · 09/07/2018 18:21

Sounds amazing! Wheres the rain in the uk. Im tempted to drive there.

Cornettoninja · 09/07/2018 18:21

When are you going? I wouldn’t trust a forecast 100% more than three days ahead.

I checked our ten day forecast yesterday and almost cried when it was predicting yellow suns as far as the eye could see but today it reckons there’s rain next week.

It’ll be fine even if it does rain - traditional innit Wink make sure there’s at least one picnic forcefed sitting in the car.

londonrach · 09/07/2018 18:22

You right...op theres rain. Going to ask dh if we can go. Rain i miss you!

Cornettoninja · 09/07/2018 18:23

Oh dear - just noticed your username. If that’s based on that bloody song then clearly you’ve angered the universe and will have to accept your rainy holiday

Humph

whatwouldkeithRichardsdo2 · 09/07/2018 18:24

But then again, it may not rain. Hope for the best.

TheSconeOfStone · 09/07/2018 18:25

It’s Cornwall so very changeable. You can’t rely on the forecast. Even if it does rain it probably won’t be for long. Get a wetsuit on and go fur a swim. You’ll be wet anyway 😄

Perranporth is lovely. I am sure you will have a great holiday.

FuzzyCustard · 09/07/2018 18:25

Up the coast from Perranporth and it is like a desert here now, with no rain forecast for the next few days. If it does rain, it'll only be showers with lots of sun in between. Go in the sea...you'll be wet anyway!

FuzzyCustard · 09/07/2018 18:26

Ha ha Scone...we said exactly the same thing!

TheSconeOfStone · 09/07/2018 18:27

Fellow West Country shower dodger Fuzzy Custard.

CoraPirbright · 09/07/2018 18:27

Oh no!! Us too!! Next week in N Cornwall it's going to be raining & 20 degrees!! Having nearly expired in the heat, the one bloody week we have booked & the weather is going to turn. I could cry, I really could Sad

TheSconeOfStone · 09/07/2018 18:28

I meant rain shower, did not mean to imply you didn’t wash.

RavenLG · 09/07/2018 18:29

BBC weather says 'a light rain' and % never rises above 50%. It'll probably change on a daily basis until next week anyway. A light drizzle is nothing to cry about.

Babyroobs · 09/07/2018 18:37

We went to Perranporth last summer and the weather was pretty bad most of the week !

userofthiswebsite · 09/07/2018 18:40

Ditto. 6 days in Italy and forecasting rain for each and every one...

SilverHairedCat · 09/07/2018 18:42

Eh? The entirety of Cornwall is as dry as dry can be. We've seen sod all rain for a month. The extended range forecast (rarely reliable) says maybe some showers a week Mon and Tues, but that's it.

God knows we need a spot of rain, the entire county is ready to go up in flames and we get enough moorland fires every year as it is!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 09/07/2018 18:43

RAIN!

You lucky bastards!

MikeUniformMike · 09/07/2018 18:45

Take coats and wellies. Perranporth is lovely.

HyacinthsBucket70 · 09/07/2018 18:46

Jesus I'm booking a week there too if it means a break from the incessant heat - it's unbearable here in Gloucestershire. Cracks you can almost fall down in the fields, not a blade of green grass in sight. I can't remember the last time we had rain here - must be a month at least.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/07/2018 18:50

We went to Croyde Bay a couple of years ago, last week in August (usually nice) it Pissed down Angry

Most people go for surfing so they were delighted it was choppy.

Honestly , it took till the Thursday to get any breaks and even then it was off/on/off

No UK holidays for us , unless its city breaks.
We were in caravan so had some protection, but 2 adults+2 teens ......!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 09/07/2018 18:51

We went to Florida in May and the weather was awful. It was fine for the first week and then chucked it down for the second. Not showers, but proper all day rain. I haven't seen much rain since then...

FuzzyCustard · 09/07/2018 18:52

scone (hope the jam goes on first!) Don't worry, I understood!
It is hot as Hades in north Cornwall now. Grateful for a sea breeze.

And the waves have been very flat for ages, so if a SW airflow brings better waves I shall be glad. That's apart from the rain for my garden and the farmers who need it.

mumsastudent · 09/07/2018 18:52

1 invest in rain jacket (light weight fold up ones) what we noticed in that part of the world is that if you travel a little north or south in the west country the weather is different. Also rain doesn't mean all day & since when have weather forecast been that accurate. We have had some great holidays in the uk when my kids where young (& even now) there is so much to see & do round there! You will still have fun & the weather may surprise you!

rookiemere · 09/07/2018 18:52

We’re the same. Off to Bude on Saturday- have already packed shorts and sun tan lotion now I need to add in waterproofs and trousers. Bloody annoying
