Is it reasonable to start mowing your massive lawn at 8pm?

It would be unreasonable to expect him or her to mow it in the heat of the day, so the alternatives are early morning or now. Would you prefer early morning?

Phew DH is out at the moment, although it's a flymo so not the noisiest.

Why would it be unreasonable? It’s no louder than at 4pm but a whole lot cooler.

Early evening is the best time to do it. I'm just about to do ours and then I'll get the hose pipe out.

When the children where we live are up at 7am screaming in their gardens, then yes, 8pm for mowing is absolutely fine!!

8pm seems sensible when it's so hot earlier in the day but I can see why the noise would be infuriating.

Petrol mowers are loud whatever time they're used though.

I don’t think 8pm is too late, unless you have children/babies that will be in bed by then and your neighbour knows this.
It has been hot today and it’s cooler in the evening to do the mowing.

What I think is very unreasonable is when a neighbour of mine started mowing his lawn at 5.50am last Sunday morning! Needless to say he got a tongue lashing from me having woken me up!

yes it would bloody bother me alot, after 8 it's nice to hear the birds not a lawn mower.

I wouldn't do it myself. Its not really fair on people with young kids
