My Second Parking Thread

Well, it is now 11:14 and I have very rudely not updated you all!!

It's quite fun I must say.

So, by some twist of fate 'someone' let the air out of one of DH's tires last night. Was full and plump last night, this morning it looked like it had melted. Funny coincidence.
However DH had parked up just behind me, any further back and he would have been encroaching on our other neighbours drive.
So 10:05 rolls around and there is a knock on the door- just the menfolk this time, asking me to shift my car.

Well unfortunatley I am not able to due to the flat tire DH has and I am now blocked in too. Darn. I explain to the menfolk what's happened and instantly I can tell by their faces it was them (or one of the others) who let the tire down. I've explained that someone is coming out to replace the tire later than day and slipped in the conversation that we have motion sensor dash cams in both cars so will of course be turned over the footage to the police.

I'll be honest with you, I could have gotten my car out at this point, but it would have been a lot of shimmying back and forth and I actually couldnt really be bothered with all that.

One of the men tells me that this has gotten well out of hand and if he offers to sort the tire out now, can we please shift and he assures me that they will never park on our property again.

I said absolutely (I don't want to appear unreasonable!), However I must insist on an apology from the driver who felt the need to park on my drive way and the driver who blocked them in.

You'll be pleased to know that have now received apologies from two very sheepish looking women (along with a lengthy explanation as to why they parked there) and DH has a lovely new bouncy tire.

Before leaving one of the menfolk asking if we could please delete the footage from the dash cam. He thinks the culprit was just having a bad day and made a bad decision. Bless.

Was the tyre slashed or just let down? If it was just let down why was a new tyre needed?

Iloveacurry · 16/06/2018 14:02

Absolutely brilliant!

StaplesCorner · 16/06/2018 14:05

Gosh that's a LOT of "bad decisions" between two families eh? They must find day to day life quite difficult on account of their huge sense of entitlement. Its so big they cant see a thing round it.

Sugarskulllover · 16/06/2018 14:05

@SharronNeedles You and your DH can only be described as true heroes!! Myself and my DH are in awe of your actions! Take a bow ThanksThanksThanksWine

dubdurbs · 16/06/2018 14:08

NotARegularPenguin the tyre would have had to be re-inflated, unless you have an air compressor to hand, the flat would have to be removed and a spare/new tyre fitted, then the flat tyre brought to be filled with air again.

ObiJuanKenobi · 16/06/2018 14:22

A success!! Well done team Wink

S0upertrooper · 16/06/2018 14:31

OP, take a bow!!! Very well played, bravo!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 16/06/2018 14:32

God that is absolutely hilarious. How bloody thick are they? Grin

Well played Op. 👏🏼

LittleMissSurrey · 16/06/2018 14:37

I. ADORE. THIS. Great job OP!! I love a good comeuppance! Goes off to buy a dash cam...

Spam88 · 16/06/2018 14:41

This thread has been absolute perfection from start to finish. Thank you OP.

Cantreachthefatscrubs · 16/06/2018 14:53

I've just read both threads and op and your husband are awesome! Loving that you totally had the cfs handled 👏

GlitteryFluff · 16/06/2018 14:55

Best parking thread ever.

posieperkinandpootle · 16/06/2018 14:58

I would try and find out who their arch playground nemesis is, CFs like this are bound to be at the heart of playground politics. Then offer them use of your drive free gratis to make it easier for them at drop off and pick up times. Will rub Cfs' noses in it without you even having to be there

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 16/06/2018 15:06

Isn't letting a tyre down classed as stealing?

youarenotkiddingme · 16/06/2018 15:09

Have loved this thread.

Now can't get a David Attenborough style car series out of my head.

The Male carefully approaches keeping themselves in the shadows....... Grin

stayathomegardener · 16/06/2018 15:10

Make sure that the rim of the tyre wasn't damaged when it was deflated.

AllyMcBeagle · 16/06/2018 15:11

Isn't letting a tyre down classed as stealing?

Not my area of law but I believe it's classed as criminal damage.

Gemini69 · 16/06/2018 15:28

Brilliant Flowers my DH is rolling about laughing at these Threads Grin

TheFirstMrsOsmond · 16/06/2018 15:28

OP you have elevated dealing with CFs into an art form.
I salute you!

SadTrombone · 16/06/2018 15:32

Bravo OP. Masterfully done!

Can I ask (as PPs have) what model dashcam you have - as we are considering getting one too.

Strawberry2017 · 16/06/2018 15:43

You are my hero! Nicely played!
I'm so glad you took annual leave, this has amused my DH and I greatly. X

LimboLuna · 16/06/2018 15:49

Thanks op and ops dh. Well played.
What twits letting the tyres down.
I wouldn’t post it anywhere if there’s a chance your kids will end up at that school. It’s done you’ve got your apology and they won’t do it again. Just keep it for your own personal amusement.

PoisonousSmurf · 16/06/2018 15:56

Thanks for the update OP. Still get a chain for the driveway, just in case any other CF have another go!

Stopyourhavering64 · 16/06/2018 16:04

This thread (and previous one) has been so entertaining....better than the World Cup!

Stephisaur · 16/06/2018 16:05

Brilliant conclusion OP!!
