To think she's wrong, not me

Bought a pair of jeans from Ebay, advertised as a size 24. They arrived today and they're a 24 inch waist which is no use to me. The ad never once says they're anything but a size 24. Seller is refusing to refund.

Open a case with eBay. Clearly says size 24 not 24inch waist

helloBuddy · 07/06/2018 17:39

Yes she's wrong, you'll get your money back.

ScreamingValenta · 07/06/2018 17:41

I would assume size 24 meant dress size 24.

itswinetime · 07/06/2018 17:41

Agree if you open a case you will win. I'm sure it's a honest Mistake but she's written the wrong thing.

Amatullah · 07/06/2018 17:41

Did you pay with pay pal..contact them they will refund you.

scurryfunge · 07/06/2018 17:41

Don’t worry. You’ll be refunded. My friend once bought a vertical room divider screen on eBay and was sent a dolls house miniature! She was refunded.

Thehop · 07/06/2018 17:42

Open a case PayPal will refund

QuestionableMouse · 07/06/2018 17:43

I've opened a case. Just wanted to check that I'd not misinterpreted the advert.

weddingsparkle · 07/06/2018 17:45

You can open a case and be refunded like others have said.

However, I can see why the seller put that as the size as that is how they list them on the 7 for all mankind website, where I think they only go up to a size 14. So I can understand why the seller might think that it would be obvious that they weren't a size 24.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 07/06/2018 17:46

You are right. There is such a thing as 24" waist jeans, for people with much smaller bums than mine but this should have been made clear. It wasn't.

QuestionableMouse · 07/06/2018 17:49

I'd never even heard of the brand before I saw them for sale. I just thought they were nice jeans.

Jimdandy · 07/06/2018 19:09

You’re correct they’re listed as a size 24.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a 24” waist 😂

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 07/06/2018 19:11

You're definitely not wrong, she is!

As has already been suggested, open a dispute.

icelollycraving · 07/06/2018 19:11

If I was ordering, I’d think a size 24 until I saw the brand. You’ll get your money back I think.

ScreamingValenta · 07/06/2018 19:13

I've heard of the brand, but I wouldn't have known their size range without checking their website. '7 for All Mankind' would vaguely suggest a wide range of sizes, so size 24 wouldn't seem unlikely.

Rtmhwales · 07/06/2018 19:15

I can see the confusion since they’re an American brand and we list jeans in sizes by inches not in proper sizes (I struggled with that adjustment moving to the UK as I only know my inch size) so perhaps she’s American? But she should’ve either put the inch symbol or offered to refund the error/misunderstanding. Too bad, they’re gorgeous jeans and so comfy. But they’ll be basically a UK size 2.

Bombardier25966 · 07/06/2018 19:17

Trouser size 24 is correct, but the title and general description say size 24, which would make me assume size 24. Having said that, surely anyone knows that 7 for all Mankind don't go up to that kind of size?

Ebay will refund you if the seller does not.

Bombardier25966 · 07/06/2018 19:21

Just looked up the listing, the seller does give a picture of the 24 label (indicating 24 inch waist), and there is a picture of the jeans, there is no way you could mistake them for a size 24!

Honestly, seller and buyer are as incompetent as each other.

cowfacemonkey · 07/06/2018 19:28

She's listed it wrong but to be fair in the pictures of the listing there's no way they look like a pair of size 24 jeans

MyNewAlias · 07/06/2018 19:53

Bombardier25966 Why would you assume that everyone knows about 7 for all mankind sizing? I am not familiar with the brand and I am sure I am not the only one.

Racecardriver · 07/06/2018 19:56

If she is in America they will be a size 24 because jeans are sizes by waist nkt dress size. In the UK it is a bit of a grey area but I would say buyer beware. Are they from abroad?

QuestionableMouse · 07/06/2018 19:57

I've never heard of the brand before seeing them on here. Not incompetent thanks... I just rarely buy clothes online and was going on the size listed by the seller. I'm not sure you can tell size from a pic of the jeans laid flat. I have dress trousers with the same sort of tag so I'm not sure that's any indication the size is in inches.

OP posts:
ScreamingValenta · 07/06/2018 20:00

Racecardriver It says collection is available from a London postcode, so I would assume UK sizing from that. I agree, if buying overseas you have to be much more careful with sizing.

steff13 · 07/06/2018 20:02

I'm in America, and men's pants are listed in inches. Some women's pants are, but mostly they're sizes. A women's size 12 jeans is not a 12 inch waist.

laloup1 · 07/06/2018 20:03

Hello, it’s quite normal to buy jeans in inches - Gap jeans and Levi’s for example. 24 inch is teeny. But it’s a decent brand so you should be able to sell them on way enough.
